My parents live in Loraine and we've been here a couple of times now. It's a cute little shop in C-City (Colorado City) and it's nice that the locals have nice, cute, quiet place to go sit and of course it's conveniently located downtown. We were there around breakfast time and walked right up to the counter, placed our order and paid, and the young lady was very polite, professional, and nice. We did order food and coffee, there is a great selection of breakfast plates and some muffins and coffee selections. We got the green scrabble and the ranchero-everything was fresh, hot and came out quickly-within five minutes of us, finding a seat and sitting after getting our drinks. Food was tasty and again the young lady that was at the counter, came up to our table and asked if we needed anything else! All in all, customer, service, quality, ambience were great! We'll definitely return, as this is our go to end favorite place in town to go when we are here! Please support small businesses!! read more

Wow! What nice things could I say. Our waitress was a gem. The breakfast was superb. It was so good another party who also had breakfast paid for us without telling us. That was a happy start of the day. We in turn gave our waitress a nice tip. She was happy. The meal was simple eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast. My wife had a omelette with bacon. Coffee was excellent. Nice rich taste which was refilled without asking. Sometimes we can make people feel happy. Now that is something we should do everyday. Enjoy! read more

A quaint little place along second street dotted with abandoned buildings and historic signage, Cactus Coffee Co deserves every star it has received. Although we got there at about 1045 and were denied breakfast (ends at 11) we ordered lunch. My wife had the chicken salad croissant, my son had the patty melt, and I had the nachos. The carne asada on the nachos was delicious, but it could have used some more cheese in the way of sauce. Flavor was fine. The chicken salad was DELICIOUS. Filled with nuts and grapes, it was the perfect sandwich for lunch. The patty melt was also very good. Coffee was awesome as well and they have a ton of sugar free flavors, hot tea, and desserts. Interior has exposed beams and brick and has a nice quaint feel to it. We will be back. read more

What a great breakfast spot in a small quite town and a absolute hidden gem. Here on business and cake in and was beyond glad that i did. The service was a complete 5 star and even above. Our waitress was super friendly and beyond accommodating on all our orders. Hand made fresh squeezed classic lemonade that is about the best I've ever had. I definitely wish this place was close to home just on lemonade alone. Potatoes were good as well as the sourdough toast, perfectly golden toasted!!! Our waitress recommended their homemade salsa and let me tell you it was some of the best salsa I've had with the perfect heat kick. Went perfect over the potatoes. It is usually quite Delicious, however. Today we ordered what we usually do. Which is a lavender lemonade, and a chi tea, despite it being good 80% of the time. The chi tea was lukewarm. And they were out of the lavender lemonade, the strawberry lemonade that they brought me felt like it was festering in the sun since Cleopatra was still pharaoh. Absolutely disappointing. But however the drinks weren't up to standard. The food was actually good, making up for the disappointment I felt at the beginning of service. With so many people working and less than half the capacity occupied I was shocked by the service. Cashier in the corner on a phone was reminded to tend to customers, which is when my order was taken. No food menu when you're at the counter so you'll have to ask. There was confusion as to if the espresso beans for sale were used for the coffee, the espresso, or both. Without getting a confirmed answer i ordered coffee to drink while a sandwich was made to go. Took exactly 30 minutes to receive the sandwich that had been ready, sitting on the counter. What gets me most is the sandwich wasn't even worth the wait. If you've got double the time to spend and double the price to pay for something you can make at home. This will be your new favorite place. read more

Very nice coffee and breakfast place my husband and I stopped into on the way from DFW area to Fort Davis state park. We enjoyed some breakfast tacos and coffee. We were able to get vegan ingredients. The salsa was nice and spicy! This place also serves lunch. read more

The coffee is pretty good, but I absolutely do not recommend giving these folks your business.. You will meet their ugly side real quick if they get your order wrong and you ask them to correct it! This place started out good, but went downhill fast. High prices and unfriendly, slow table service (even if its dead) now. Glowing reviews are likely not from anyone whos been a regular. A sandwich with chips is $11 alone (no drink). The food quality is okay, but not above average and breakfast is greasy. Potatoes are always underdone. Our bill used to be (we will never set foot in here again) about $45 or more and thats for just two. Be warned there are also random hour changes and closures! Poor service costs them the majority of their business. The wait staff is very young so service suffers considerably. High turnover, but they've always got an attitude problem. The waitresses never return after bringing food to the table either. Theyre consistent on that and you will most likely have to flag them down for everything once your foods out. Especially not the place to eat if you're on a tight lunch break. They also rarely (never) ask how the food is. Once we were served a broken glass. Flagged the waitress down and sent it back.. waited.. waited.. she brought soup to the table but still no water. Our food was getting cold. Finally got up to ask them at the bar for a water then the waitress had a chip on her shoulder over it when we checked out! I graduated from high school a while ago the petty nonsense is a BIG turnoff. These issues extend themselves to the phone should you need to call an order in. I have been on hold in excess of 20 minutes (Im sure they left the call longer, but I hung up) while listening to chit chat. I've also not been able to get through for hours on multiple occasions because the phone is off the hook. A couple times I decided to just drive up there only to find a single table inside and young girls behind the counter giggling over their cellphones. Clearly the phone has either had issues for sometime and mgmt has failed to address it or it is intentionally being left off the hook. Heres the WORST part... They ALWAYS refuse to take responsibility for mistakes with food and look for an opportunity to blame the customer! To top it off, theyll FIGHT to charge you for mistakes that are undeniably THEIR fault! For example, I ordered a salad that the menu said was made with spring mix. I even asked the waitress to go to the kitchen and make sure. I specifically told her, if theres no spring mix I DO NOT want it. I will order something else. It was CRYSTAL clear. Well, she never returned with an answer and the next thing I knew I was served an entire bowl of limp, cheap iceberg lettuce which I have an allergy to. I told the her I couldn't eat it and reminded her I requested she make sure it would be made as the menu stated. What followed was one of the most cowardly displays I think I'd ever seen and wouldve certainly bought me one heck of a whoopin if I was her age... After some arguing peppered with snarky looks/comments she went to the kitchen. Another girl then returned to the table explaining she intended to charge me anyhow because the waitress told her a big fat lie. She said I had "approved the substitution" :O She also added they had no intention of serving spring mix any longer and they had not changed their menu!! I was absolutely BLOWN away at that WHOPPER of a lie. I told her, lady my husband sat right here and heard me ask her, I told her if it wasnt made with spring mix Id order something else, she never gave an answer, and then she appeared with the salad. I will NOT be charged for that! She STILL tried to charge me half price even after I explained AND the waitress never copped to her lie. I was furious.. and in utter disbelief. My husband and I had come in on his lunch break to enjoy a nice meal, we were having nice conversation, and now THIS is what we have to deal with... AND we waited such a long time for food? I stood my ground and decided right then wed never return! Shortly after this (and contemplating just walking out) we were served cheese fries with a black hair (neither of us have this color hair) melted in. Any decent business owner wouldve comped the ENTIRE meal after such a horrifying experience, but these... people had the audacity to press the issue with the charge of the salad (in the end I did refuse to pay for it and didnt) and charged us fully for everything else. I cant recall when I had a worse experience dining out!! Please know these are the kind of people your giving your money to if you give them your business! read more
