Excellent food. The Pulpo carpaccio and the lengua carpaccio were excellent. Lasagna too, was on point. Beautiful building and decor. Service was a bit slow, but didn't detract much from the experience. read more

I want to like this place HARD, the Location is amazing, the wait staff was great. But in the end the food was just pretty bland. There's enough going on in Italian cooking that I shouldn't need salt and pepper on my meal. But there I was wishing for salt and pepper shakers. This little pepperoni roll appetizer was delish, but Fusilli Alla Parmigiana just didn't cut it for me. read more

I got to experience Cabotina for the first time today. It was incredible! Our server Oscar is amazing! He is attentive, prompt and made the BEST table side Caesar salad I have EVER had! The pizza was also fantastic. But I will definitely come back, next time I'm in Guadalajara, and ask for Oscar, and get a truly authentic Caesar salad. The atmosphere and drinks are very good as well. As a plus for American travelers that don't speak fluent Spanish, Oscar and the rest of the team also speak English. read more

What an extraordinary experience. Beyond the wonderful food and service is an unbelievable atmosphere. There is not a single sense that this restaurant does not touch. The open kitchen invites guests to experience the food beyond just taste and the surroundings only enhance that sensation. You could not ask for a more attentive staff. As a single foreign stranger, it is always a bit of a challenge to venture out. The staff at Cabotina made me feel not only welcome but also like I had been coming for years. Thank you to Louis and the entire Cabotina staff for giving this weary traveler an extraordinary experience. read more

Great food and great service at an even better price. We were 4 adults and my 11 year old. We had lasagna, steak, pasta (Alfredo) w/ shrimp, (2) appetizers of thinly sliced, perfectly flavored Spanish ham and my personal favorite, a perfectly seasoned and slow roasted pork belly with crunchy skin and meat that just fell apart at the sight of your fork. All that plus several glasses of bubbly and a couple of tequila. Not only was everything perfect, the food, servers Ana (who served us drinks to enjoy outside while we waited for our table) and Brandon, but it was all just $2005 pesos ($100 USD) plus tip of course. What a great place. I promise to post pictures in a couple of days when we return for seconds. :p read more

This place has a wonderful atmosphere. Upscale tavern. The staff are friendly and the food is absolutely amazing. This is a stop I will definitely make next time I'm in town. Such a cool place to visit. read more

Nice atmosphere, Great Food (went from a 2 rating to this final 4) but wait is long (40+ mins). Focus is for more on gents/those who come to drink as they are moved quickly and in front of others waiting. Profit before Service!! Visit of our family of 6 (kids and adults) on April 21st at 9pm. Will find a more family friendly service restaurant here at the Glorieta Chapalita next time, our mistake!! **Waiter made the difference to take it from a 3 to a 4; not a 5 only because of the wait and the previously mentioned. read more

I was hoping rated 5 star that this was going to be a hidden hem???? Great ambiance, romantic, received the food before the wine and before the table side Cesar Salad. Saw the waiter twice, never brought us bread, got up and got our own, this guy should be washing dishes, not waiting tables. What a way to waste my last night in Guadalajara! Owner, your waiter needs training. read more

Owned and ran by three young local guys gives it a fun local vibe. I spent hours enjoying their wine and food while a local traveling pop up vintage jazz band played a few classics for us. The music in the restaurant this particular evening went from modern lounge to 1940's French jazz. I felt I was back in Boudreaux France at times. Great fun and plenty to chose from on the wine list. The service wasn't great--slow and inattentive--and the food really missed the mark. It felt like every dish swung to one extreme or the other. The potato appetizer was way too spicy and overly seasoned to the point where it overpowered everything else. The prime rib was a major letdown: overcooked and somehow completely lacking seasoning, which is unforgivable for a dish like that. The mole with the short rib had good flavor, but once again the meat was overcooked, making it tough and disappointing. All in all, the experience was less than meh. With inconsistent food, poor service, and only decent drinks to show for it, this isn't a spot I'd return to or recommend.
