Patrick goes above and beyond to ensure you get your license with the intelligence of a CFI and the safety of an airline pilot. He wouldn't let you make mistakes or in his words "Im gonna kill you before you have the chance to kill yourself, you don't have that privilege!" Hilarious guy, would recommend to everyone even in NY to go to LA just to get top tier training

From the very beginning, he took the time to understand my strengths and weaknesses, tailoring his instruction to ensure I fully grasped every concept and could safely perform all maneuvers. He never rushed the process and made sure I was fully prepared before allowing me to solo. Patrick was always patient, thorough, and supportive. He answered all my questions, addressed any doubts I had, and guided me through every step of my training--including preparing me for my checkride. Thanks to his dedication, I am now a Private Pilot! If you're just starting out and unsure where to go for flight training, I highly recommend Patrick. He is certified to train pilots at all levels and is truly committed to his students' safety and success! If you're looking for a knowledgeable and patient instructor who puts safety and learning first, Patrick is the one to train with!

TLDR: DC Flight…read moreSimulation is the place you want to be at for your simulator hours. Don't bother with the basic aviation training devices (BATD) at your local flight and make the drive to KCCB for the advanced aviation training devices (AATD). You will not regret your time here. Ownership: The owner, I will keep his name private for the review and confidentiality of the internet, is a top notch business owner. He truly wants to see the business and everyone succeed in their pilot training. He has been extremely understanding with the different obstacles you might deal with outside of your flight training. I had my first born a few months ago, he has been helpful with scheduling and working around the busy life of a new parent. So I am extremely grateful. Facilities: The facilities and equipment are always clean. You and your CFI have access to briefing rooms 30 minutes before and after your lesson. The rooms are equipped with a white board, markers, and a computer. Everything you might need for your CFI to breakdown the lesson plans. There are two simulators available for rent, they are called, Thing 1 and Thing 2. Just like real planes they each have their own corks to them and might find you prefer one over the other. I started with Thing 1 but mentally feel more comfortable on Thing 2. It is probably a me thing and not a machine thing though. Closing: I am extremely thankful to DC Flight Simulation for their part in my pilot training. I am currently working on my instrument rating (IFR) and DC Flight Simulation has played an integral part in my success.

From my son Rick: 17…read morey/o PPL here. UAA's KPOC school offers professional yet welcoming environment. The staff are extremely friendly with a nice facility located on the Northwest end of the field. To add some perspective, you hear about 17 year old birthday checkrides, and 40 hour check rides, but not both. I came into UAA with absolutely no stick time and left as a flight school record holder with my checkride which was done on my 17th birthday @40 hours. This would not have been possible without my CFI/CFII Vishwa Ravichandran, who made this possible by going out of his way to customize a training regimen for me to make it happen. Extremely selfless yet knowledgeable individual who cares about teaching his students, and making each student better than the last passed checkride. My very first interaction with him was when he allowed me to borrow his headset when mine had an issue on my very second flight. He became my primary CFI immediately following this. My previous CFI, from the KEMT location, was inconsistent with scheduling and it felt as if I was acting as a passenger in the pilots seat as opposed to investing in a hands-on learning experience. Compare this Vishwa's constant attention to the little things, which are the reason why I passed my checkride at my age with such a low flight time. UAA's KPOC location offers a greater environment for students. My father obtained his rotor wing PPL at 68 hours at the KEMT location, and obviously myself at 40 at KPOC. I will let the hours speak for themselves. Great school with great people, highly recommend.

He did the pre flight check and explained everything he was doing thoroughly. So much great information. Before I knew it, we were taking off and he was  allowing me to take the controls at times.
