The site itself was peaceful and surrounded by beautiful trees. It's roughly 800 feet from the dock to the campsite, but be prepared -- the trail is very rocky with little hills and high rocks, which makes dragging coolers, camping gear, and other supplies to the site pretty challenging. Definitely pack accordingly! There is a designated trash area, which is great, although it's a bit of a walk from the campsite. We also did see people hiking behind our campsite, so I wouldn't say the site is completely private, but it was definitely private enough to feel secluded and peaceful. Cell service was also very limited, which can be a positive or negative depending on what you're looking for. It definitely gave us more of that unplugged camping experience. The biggest downside was the picnic table. It is in pretty rough shape, with several boards cracked, warped, and deteriorating. It really needs some serious repair or replacement. Considering how beautiful the site is, having a decent picnic table would make the experience even better. Overall, we really enjoyed Site 32. Beautiful scenery, unbelievably clear water, great fishing, and a peaceful camping experience. Just be prepared for the rocky walk from the dock, limited cell service, and a picnic table that definitely needs some TLC!

Round Valley has always been a go spot for my family in the summer weather. We are only about 15…read moreminutes away and have been coming here for years for hikes, picnic lunches, letting our pups go for a swim, etc. It's a state park and looked after incredibly well. More so, I've noticed visitors take care to leave the park clean and just as they found it. I went for the first time this year earlier this week and was reminded just how much I love this beautiful space. If you are a senior, go to the office before you head to the park and get a senior pass. It gives you and everyone in your car free entry and it's a lifetime pass! My dad popped in after meaning to for so long and got the whole process done in a few minutes. No pass? It's just $5 per person. The folks in the office and the ticketing both are all friendly, kind and so helpful. They even had treats for our pups waiting in the backseat. There are so many different sections of the park to explore and visit. There's a beach for swimming complete with everything from a dock to a lifeguard, a rockier and more quiet area for fishing. They have a section for those camping. A perfect visit during the summer months. Enjoy!

There's an optional Black course at the end that we ran out of time so we ended up having to get lowered down. Our group took longer during the obstacle course intro area which was counted towards the time. The driver even came over to see what the hold up was. So we began on the actual course late. You're packed tightly into a van and driven up to the start of the Treetop Adventure. I've done another Zipline course excursion before and it included a lot of hiking whereas this one was pretty minimal. It definitely differed in safety. There seemed to only be one size harness and no one was weighed or height measured. One of the kids in the group definitely struggled to reach things. Since we were in the back we ended up helping people. Which I don't mind, I'm all for lending a hand. But on the other excursion I did there were two employees, one in the front and one in the back and I feel like that would've streamlined the process to move quicker. It was pretty inconsistent whether the instructor was in the front, back, or middle of the group. I also wish there had been some organization with the order of the group. There was another couple where the lady had done this course multiple times before and the instructor told her to go first. But the kids/teenagers wanted to be in the front of the line. They tended to be slower which slowed down the process. The kids pushed to go first and then their families followed so we ended up being stuck in the back. And the instructor didn't really enforce things. Like at the end with the optional Black course you have to get up this tricky ladder in order to be allowed on the course. You get two tries. The teen in front of us struggled and said he wanted to stop but ended up being helped up his second try, just to be immediately let down once he got up on the initial platform. Since we were running late on time my husband and I stood at the front to try to get on this last obstacle course first but the teens ended up rushing in front of us so we were again at the end. 5 of us ended up having to be let down due to time. I wasn't a huge fan of that since she actually lowered us right into a bush and I got a bunch of bug bites. Things largely depend on the group. Things just went slowly for our's and besides the ending 3 people had to be let down by the instructor (which is pretty time consuming). Another disappointing thing were the ziplines. They were pretty short and there were also some where everyone (including the instructor) stopped short and had to pull themselves to the end. At one the instructor even stayed behind to push a younger girl to help her make it further but she also stopped short. The lady who had done the courses before said she's never seen it happen this frequently. I think the lines were too slack. There's water coolers scattered around the course but no paper cups. So bring a backpack or fanny pack with a bottle. Also the lodge lost power when we got back. And we had a longer drive back so it made for an interesting bathroom visit at the end..

Try the traditional Welsh cowl at the castle cafe located before the climb to the castle. 2. Be sure to go all the way down to the natural cave. We had no idea just how beautiful this area was going to be. So many hills and valleys, so many beautiful sights everywhere we looked. We planned to walk around the castle here but were blown away by the situation. You have to see it to believe it. I joked that the carpark is probably the most beautiful one in the world and my company agreed. Loos in carpark. There is a shop, gallery and cafe just beyond the carpark. There are two walks marked out here, the yellow is shorter and the longer one is marked in red. However, for the time being, the red one is out of bounds while they fix the bridge. But the yellow marked route was intensely beautiful and we look forward to the longer route opening in February 2010. We'll be bringing our friends here! There is also a longer route to be found in 'AA 50 walks in Brecon Beacons & South Wales'. The castle itself can be viewed at the end of these walks and there is a cave as well (torch £1.50 deposit).

They have four courses to play from. You don't get to choose. They assign you based on the availability. I'm not sure if unlimited means you can play all four courses without repeat and if you can play more than four times (conceptually). They offer half off a second course when you're booking one. You get that offer when paying at the kiosk on the spot, but my friend got a similar deal afterwards via email. Unfortunately, the deal was gone either after she clicked into it or the day after (confusing terms). We actually considered going the next day to play again (full price) but turns out the place was closed for a private event. Imagine we paid online to show up seeing that they aren't available...lame. We were assigned to play in the amber course. Each course is named after a color. They're similar but slightly different, but I won't feel like I'm missing out by not playing all four. It took us approximately 30min to get through the course considering slight delays waiting for the group ahead to finish and technical issues with the courses. I can imagine it taking longer on a weekend and earlier in the evening for corporate happy hours. Most groups were only 2 people. Puttshack is unique where their ball is "smart". Each ball is assigned to a player, and it can keep track of how many times you hit it. It's great for ease of scorekeeping. The courses themselves felt a bit easy. I'm not saying I got everything in hole in one, but I never felt frustrated completing any of them. I don't get the ball in due to my skill of getting it in the hole not because of the complexity of the course. They try to incorporate things like trivia and moving parts in there, but it's never a situation where they won't let you through until you complete something. You'll get through eventually somehow.

There are massage chairs for parents(you have to pay). There is a toddler area, ball pits, chalkboard, slides, toys to ride, small bikes and plenty of toys for the kids to play with and keep them busy. There a snacks to purchase and drinks.
