Horsehead Lake Lodge and Event Center - My daughter on her wedding day on the deck outside the reception hall

Horsehead Lake Lodge and Event Center

We just had our daughter's wedding here and it was amazing. The venue is set up on top of the hill…read moreoverlooking Horsehead Lake. They have a couple of different buildings. One is the Reception Hall and the other is the Ceremony Hall where you gather before the ceremony. If the weather is nice they have an outdoor area, again overlooking lake for the ceremony which is stunningly beautiful. This hall can also be used for the rehersal dinner. They have accommodation in various cabins and Glamping options. The cabins are great. With decks, kitchens well stocked with equipment, fridge/freezer, stove, comfy (firm mattress) beds, outside hot tubs. The owner Scott has really but together a great event/wedding venue and he is so great to work with. There are so many other things on offer, like a small lake area with a beach area, paddle boards a beach house if you want to get out of the sun and they have loaner jeeps, to go exploring with and to get around the property in. We are already thinking we will possibly use Horsehead Lake Lodge for a future Family reunion.

Scott, the owner, was absolutely so accommodating in every way. This gem was located next to so many beautiful hiking trails. Kayaking was available for guests, and for the first time, I absolutely loved it!!! The cabin we were in was just everything we needed. The hot tub was a wonderful night delight and just the perfect ending to a busy morning exploring. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!! We are definitely looking into visiting again in March!!!

Clean rooms, friendly staff and a great breakfast (eggs, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, oatmeal,…read moremuffins, sausage, etc.) Since our large family needed 2 rooms, we asked for adjoining rooms and they accommodated our request without a problem. We also drove 45-min south up to Mt. Magazine National Forest and to Signal Hill which is the highest elevation in Arkansas. Beautiful winding roads and amazing scenery. The lodge at the top Mt Magazine offers incredible views. There is a pricey but delicious restaurant with a breathtaking view. They offer a menu (with gluten free options) but also a $14 buffet which was really good. Not many other options for food up there except for a small gas station where we picked up some snacks. We also went to Cove Lake Recreation Area which is about 30 min south of hotel where you can swim in the lake, play miniature golf by the lake and rent double and single kayaks and double paddle boats. Very fun! There is a $5 day pass per vehicle. The kayaks/boats were only $5 for 30 minutes. They do require life jackets and they have plenty on site. Plenty of grass area for a picnic by the lake. While visiting anywhere we like local food options so we picked South Park Restaurant about 5-10 min from the hotel - very good food for a good price. We also drove 30 min north to the infamous Ozone Burger Barn. A novelty restaurant off the beaten path that will be a fun memory (some of our family didn't like it because the outdoor eating which attracted tons of flies!) This is a good hotel stop with easy access if you are on I-40.

This was truly amazing!!! A secluded, charming, but luxurious cabin! Booked through Air BNB. Pros…read moreand cons, but gave 5 star due to the quality overriding the cons. The cons were small things in our book, but nonetheless. We used this as a couples getaway, but couldn't afford it for a weekend as it was $238 after all fees and taxes for 1 night ($195 night). This place is like something you'd see on tv that you'd say, "Wow that's so cool! Wish we could stay in a place like that!" The details that went into designing this and making the most for your money are what sold us! It's so beautifully designed for a "glamper" like myself who despises "real" camping. In the woods, but with no bugs and all the comforts that we don't even have at home! Luxurious amenities to enjoy time alone (you really get the sense of isolation and privacy) or ignite romantic passion to share things like a hammock, swing, hot tub, copper tub, comfy king bed, circle love seat couch to snuggle, fireplace all with an open scenic view of Arkansas's outdoors! Pros: -The attention to detail is amazing! We appreciated the distinct shower, sinks, bath and faucets. -Instructions for overview of just about everything was included. -The mini fridge was stocked with water, soda, adult drinks, champagne, strawberries and butter and creamer for coffee! I guess this is categorized as a "B&B" since a waffle iron and mix and syrup are provided. -Coffee maker, coffee, champagne flutes, bottle/ice holder, utensils, pots, pans, grilling utensils, towels, trash bags, cleaning supplies, sugar, fondue with complimentary chocolate and ice ready to go in the freezer were all included!!! -Comfy King bed ( extra pillows and blankets stored away) -open windows to take in the view -soft, white robes provided -games and tv with DVD player and DVDs provided for entertainment. Didn't know how the outdoor speaker system would've worked. I didn't see instructions for that. -Remote control fireplace -Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for however you like to lounge! -Adjustable lighting and ceiling fan Cons: -A bit pricy (but it was worth it!) -In the middle of nowhere so don't expect to go "grab a bite to eat somewhere close"! We went with the expectation that the winery was sure to have some snacks like cheese or meats. Nope. We had to leave and grab food which was a min of 30 min drive. Thankfully we did plan ahead and brought things to grill for dinner, but we didn't plan for lunch. That's on us. -Open windows are beautiful but offer no privacy, in the morning, no hiding the sun if you wanted to sleep in, bring an eye mask. -The grill was nice but the gas must have regulated or maybe we just aren't used to the infrared grills bc the temp wouldn't get up past 300. Had to wait longer than we usually do when grilling steaks and veggies but they eventually got done. Maybe there's nothing wrong with the grill and we just weren't used to the infrared. -Could've used a few more towels since we took advantage of the showers and the hot tub. I didn't really want to use the same towel after showering/bathing than I did in the hot tub. (Maybe that's me being a little "extra") -No instructions provided for the waffle iron. -Fireplace was a nice touch! But it sure put out hot heat but wasn't very bright. -Road around the cabin is not suitable for big trucks! We had a little trouble navigating through there. We will for sure be back!!! We would strongly recommend this to anyone!

This was a wonderful experience! Huge thanks to Roger for hosting our group and being so welcoming…read more The wines were delicious, and blending them was so fun! The views are great, the vibes are wonderful, and best of all, it's in a yurt! 5 stars, definitely recommend.
