The procedure was professionally performed and the skin did look fresher upon completion. After my first visit, I had a lot of red marks etc from extractions. By month 3, I was straight up GLOWING. I loved that every facialist asked what my routine looked like, and even though I try my best to not fall prey to the upsell, I have ended up working in 2 Heyday recommended products into my daily regime and they both have kept my skin super, super happy. I cancelled my membership 2 months ago to tighten my budget post-wedding, however, I'm going to start going back because my skin just ain't the same without Heyday's touch. YES cancelling the membership is annoying- it takes 30 days for it to process or something. But I was told how it worked when I signed up, so I wasn't caught off guard. As others have said, Imani is amazing, by far my favorite person to work with. Anyway, do yourself the favor and go. It's convenient, and your skin will thank you for it.

I went to Je'derm for a facial (my first one ever) and all that was entailed int he experience completely wowed me. Judit took the time to ask me specifics about my skin (like regimen and what I normally use) instead of just beginning to work on my face. I really appreciated the attention and individualization. The level of comfort & love poured into each room is remarkable. You must try the facial there's just so many layers to it and so much offered in the experience! The tiny touches I thought were superb were the heated blankets and elevated chairs (helps with the blood flow to the heart ;)). If there were 6 stars, Je'derm would meet the requirement. My face was talking to me the entire time saying "why haven't we had this experience in our life until now!?!?" I will definitely be back! Did I mention the GLOW I had leaving there??? :)

The reviewer that described Madelaine's as cold, eerie and uncomfortable clearly can not appreciate what a rare gem this place is. If you need all the bells and whistles of a posh overpriced spa, this is not the place for you. The sisters that own and operate this establishment have been doing so for decades. They have an established and loyal client base because those of us that love Madelaine's appreciate the quality of their work and could care less about the aesthetics of the establishment. All of the women working here are so kind and caring. Every time I come for a visit they greet me warmly like we're old friends. Despite the numerous clients they have, they remember the smallest details about you for years to come. No matter how hard I try, I can never get a facial anywhere else that is as good as the ones I get at Madelaine's. They use myofascial release techniques during the massage portion of the experience that can be a bit startling at first but it is definitely worth it. The products they use are all handmade and you can tell by the glow in your skin that they really know what they're doing. I could care less about what is in the products because my skin speaks volumes about the effectiveness of what they are using. I always purchase several of the items they stock for retail and incorporate them into my daily skincare routine. The entire experience is very relaxing and peaceful, so much so I often times fall asleep in the chair. Everyone is very gentle and mindful of you as they change out your masks while you're snoozing. Facial review: I…read morewent to Skin Spa for the first time at the Upper West Side location (150 Amsterdam Ave) on Sunday, May 26th). I had a Groupon deal of 50% off so figured I would give it a try and scheduled a "customized facial." The facialist did a fantastic job, was professional, very thorough, asked good questions, gave some recommendations, and never tried to push or hard sell any products on me. I paid an extra $50 for a peel which I asked for (she didn't try and push the extra sale on me). For me personally, extractions are never fun during a facial, but necessary in my case. Besides that, everything else was absolutely fantastic. The cleansing, the steam treatment, the peel ($50 extra which I requested), and the mask all occurred during the service which lasted almost a full hour. My facialist also gave me a shoulder massage which was a nice touch and very much appreciated. My skin feels very smooth and refreshed. The price was very good thanks to the Groupon deal I had, and although I only went because of the discount, I was so impressed and happy with the service, that I will definitely go back again with or without a discount. I highly recommend Skin Spa.

Update: I've been going to Nirit once a month since June and my skin has never been better in my…read morelife... My skin is clearer, healthier, glowing and smooth! I've been getting compliments from friends I haven't seen in months that they're shocked with how beautiful my complexion is now. Even Nirit has been admiring her work :) I used to be plagued with cysts and regular pimples most of the month, especially around my period, ever since the 5th grade. I went to so many dermatologists and tried just about every medicine they could think of. I've spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars in makeup, masks, clay, acne treatments, gimmicks, etc... I was on the verge of going through the accutane treatment (again) and dreading the commitment, discomfort and inevitable slew of breakouts when I found and decided to take the advice of Nirit. I had nothing to lose. After speaking to her the first day, she showed me how my how my products were drying out my face, (thinking that my oily face needed to be soaked up i used powder makeup and clay masks all the time), which was actually encouraging MORE pimples and irritating the existing breakouts that were taking forever to heal... I've completely changed my routine to 6 products (only 4 I bought at Nirit's salon, the other two are a moisturizer and sunscreen) in addition to the monthly facials (extractions and aromatherapy oils) to get to a place i've been dreaming of the last 15 years. Though I still get 1-2 breakouts during my most hormonal week, they've been incredibly fast to heal (3-5 days vs what used to be 2 weeks) and more often than not end up going away before it fully forms anyway. Besides, i used to easily get up to 5+ cystic pimples in a single week so just having one or two makes me want to cry with joy. It's only been 3 months, really, and I'm so encouraged by this process that I can't wait to see how my skin evolves by the end of the year! I'm developing good skin habits, creating a better skin environment and am much more aware of what i'm putting on my skin. It's not the cheapest option for me, but by budgeting appropriately - and saving a LOT on what i used to spend in cosmetics and skin care products - it's an expense that i'm 100% able and willing to make. I'm actually saving money in the end... My anxiety and self-consiousness is way way down and I'm even able to go out the door without make up on and feel good about myself. I highly recommend Nirit's salon! Her advice is solid and the bit of tough love you need to change the way you see your skin Oh, and my eyebrows are absolutely gorgeous... :)
