One stop before heading to the airport to buy some souvenirs since it is on the way anyways. Upon entering, the site of the fireplace is inviting and cozy. It makes me feel homesick. Behind it, is the public facility. It was clean and I like the faucet for the tap water, it reminds me of the old days back home. I looked around and the place is quite big and plenty of room to move around. If you're looking for something that you need for hunting, fishing or camping, this is the place. I flagged down an employee and he pointed me to where the refrigerator magnets are. I checked it out. Pretty good selection and prices aren't bad but I didn't find anything that I wanted. Absolutely the worst gun counter service possible. No one is available, and they care nothing for the order in which people arrive and put their names in, they just start helping whoever they feel like, when they feel like. They don't act like employees or treat you like paying customers, they treat you like they're doing you a favor just by being there, and they don't have to waste their time on you. I like coming here. So much to see and I love the decor and the fire place in the entrance is super nice and just a nice place to hang out while you wait for love ones. Worst service ever- Purchased a fire arm recently. This was the worst experience. Jordan at the gun counter seems to be an open racist, asking me questions about where I live, what my ethnic background is, and - i quote" why i just dont order a gun from where im from" He was so rude I could barely stand it. He swore in front of me to another employee saying "im f**king Pissed" wile looking me directly in the eyes. This was wile i was filling out my legal paperwork. I have a washington state CPL. so of course im going to pass the background check. If this was my post, I would fire that man on the spot no questions asked. This kind of person is supposed to be trusted with my most personal info? (Address, SSN, ect)? This interaction with that terrible man has driven me to committing to never ever step foot, or purchase Anything from this place ever again. In turn, I went and purchased my scope that cost over 2k somewhere else the very next day. I think that all the old people that are working there are so sweet and kind, BUT all the people that work that back counter for firearms are always so disorganized. They have you check in but will fold at the sound of "hey I wanna buy this right now". WTF is the point of checking in. One of those perfect store shopping experiences, a consumer only hopes to have.... My positive comment circles around one specific employee in the knife section named Chris.... For the sake of identifying the correct employee, I am describing him. A slightly older, asian american gentleman. From the moment I made an inquiry to pull two knives out of the display case, to the decision to buy those two knives?... Chris provided me with a level of detailed customer support, I have not experienced recently. He offered up history on knife makers, steel quality, And then to top it off, gave me some of his own personal knife research, data...paperwork to take home with me! I'm talking about his own copies...very kind. He even walked me up to checkout, as a final touch of customer service... A signature shopping event... I will always return to this store. If I was to rate cabela's as a store solely in terms of having the merchandise and selection, 5 stars all the way! It's a wonderful store filled with sooo much stuff. Their clothing selection ain't bad. Lots of nice casual and outdoor wear. They have a variety of fishing and hunting supplies. It's a cool store bc they have a nice display of fish and taxidermy animals. I mean I feel sorry for those animals but still cool to look at if you have kids. They offer pretty good sales on merchandise. I would be such a huge fan of this store but their staff kind of offsets this enthusiasm. The staff just wasn't helpful. I tried using an online coupon but it wouldn't work. Clearly, it was sent to my email and still valid but the store's staff wouldn't honor the coupon. They said I had to call corporate. What kind of customer service is this? If all the requirements checks out to use the coupon, they should have just honored it. Oh well. Called Cabella's to learn if they could assist in repair of my 20 ga semi auto bird gun. No one ever answered the telephone in the gun department. Called again to operator number. Pleasant young lady answered and said they do not do any gunsmithing. Offered to give me local numbers from their reference list . However most of the references have gone out of business due to the latest state law that mandates a high liability insurance. I guess, maintaining firearms has become a black market activity due to the new state law. Guess I'll never buy another firearm from Cabela's again. read more

This place is dude paradise - so many awesome things to see! My son and I could easily spend a day here but we only had an hour so we felt short changed. Lots of great outdoors and hunting stuff was expected but awesome taxidermy displays were beyond what I expected. The gun library and huge selection of used guns were a fun walk through gun collector history! Fishing, archery and camping sections were incredible too! Looking forward to my next visit! read more

Cabela's reminds me a lot of Bass Pro Shop, with the same type of items sold (outdoor equipment) in the store and set up. Bass Pro Shop actually purchased Cabela's last year by the way. This particular Cabela's is located off the 5 freeway, and in the same large, large plaza as Home Depot. I stopped by this store with my husband 2 Mondays ago, a little before 8 pm. Employees weren't very welcoming and friendly, not greeting customers as they came into the store (kind of odd actually). Anyways, just like Bass Pro Shop stores, there is taxidermy all over the store and a large aquarium with a waterfall in the middle back, of the store. Towards the back of the store is where you will find the bargain cave (just like online). Here, items are on clearance. And based on the colored tag, buyers may be able to get an additional discount off the lowest ticketed price. However there are some items in this bargain cave that currently is not able to get additional discount. On this visit, I was able to snatch up a few hoodies, mittens/ gloves and other winter wear items at a steal. Before this visit, I have never visited a Cabela's store in person and have only purchased on line (mostly just winter gear and clothing though). It was nice to visit this store in person but I just thought it was kind of odd that employees walking around were not smiling and greeting customers as they were in the store (in all of the Bass Pro Shops that we have been to, employees are always friendly and asking if we need any assistance. They are also bigger and allow customers to bring in their well behaved, leashed dogs into the store. Only service dogs are allowed in Cabela's). I liked the good deals that I was able to score (especially helpful since it was on the cold side in Washington while we were visiting). But think the customer service needs a bit of improvement (check out the Bass Pro Shop in Tacoma sometime to compare this store to them). read more

Let's start with the positives. -Store is big, clean and well organized. and that's where the positives end. Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop for that matter almost never have anything in stock for fishing that make any sense for Puget sound. They have a ton of their in house bass gear and other bass stuff that probably just sits forever, but pink buzz bombs on a pink year nahhh. Shimano, Daiwa and Penn Saltwater reels nah how about Bass Pro Mini Baitcaster with 50ft line capacity. Honestly Fred Meyer's one aisle of fishing stuff has better curated items than that whole fishing corner at Cabelas. Most egregiously is their customer service. I swear all the people working the fishing department near the reels are missing half a brain hemisphere, but simultaneously act like they are gods gift to humanity. I point out the SKU of specific reel to see if it's available in house and the guy at the counter starts browsing the website on his terminal to find it and goes through clicking every frickin Penn reel in existence and literally reading each page to see if it matches the SKU. JUST TYPE the SKU IN and STOP ASKING ME STUPID QUESTIONS ABOUT THE REEL. 15 minutes later 'Oh I thought I had one of these last week" Why would I ever bother to shop here versus just ordering it on Amazon if you never have or can't identify things that I want to buy. If you have to go to tackle shop in the Greater Seattle Metro here are my suggestions from best to worst. 1. Sportco/Outdoor Emporium 2. John's sporting goods/Triangle Bait and Tackle 3. This place is a complete joke. DO NOT SHOP HERE! Canceled a $2,300 order because of the complete lack of proper customer service. After waiting for approval of firearms, which I paid for, I was called and told to come pick up. Refused when I arrived. Mngr called apologized & offered $100 GC. Decided I wouldn't cancel the order. Got there AGAIN, got d*cked around again for 45 min. Threatened to cancel my purchase & John, some little dipsh!t behind the counter shrugged his shoulders as if to say "so what". At that point I canceled my order & asked for a manager. Long story short, Jamie & John (managers) are worthless. BTW, Cabellas management might wanna drug test John, the "manager" I put that in quotes because he wasn't the actual manager & maybe tell Jamie "gaslighting" customers isn't the best way to deal with them. Both times I was there I was told the manager wasn't there. I will never step foot in your establishment again. Had always wanted to stop in; I actually did one time @ 1 minute to closing because I needed a replacement tip for a fishing rod, so that's all I saw. Stopped in this time and had about 30 min to browse after picking up my .22LR shells. So much to see! Too much to describe, but if you need it they probably have it. Stopped by to get fly reel set up for Trout fishing. I was greeted nicely and a welcome to Cabela's. One of two nice things. Walked back to fishing department right off the back I see one young man working with a guy with the reels area. Walked back and spot two old men just laughing and walking around not paying attention to anyone but their conversation. I stop by the fly fishing area and pick up $30-$40 worth of gear and head to the counter for some help with setting up the fly reel. I'm standing in front of the fly fishing counter and see these two guys again. Taller one looks up at me then continues his conversation with the old guy. After standing at the counter for 10 minutes and being ignored by the older guys again I leave. Looks like Sportsman's warehouse is getting my business back. Cabela's needs to train people on what good customer service is! If you're on the sales floor you are checking if someone has a question or putting product out, you're not walking around and having a none work related conversation while ignoring customers!!!! Second nice thing was the cashier/ customer service young girl who helped me with my fishing license and other questions. If it wasn't for her good Customer service I would have yelled at the manager! I'm tired of spending my hard earned money and not getting good customer service!!! read more

I don't care about prices and selection. When I order a rifle and they make me come back to find out the gun is on back order then the rifle order gets canceled and then on top of it I go to pick up the rifle based on instructions from corporate Cabela's to pick up the rifle during regular business hour and they tell me oh the back group check is turned off one hour before they close enough is enough. Just disorganized. Poor service. Crap treatment of customers. With all the time and gas I wasted driving to Cabela's in Tulalip I should have just went to my local gun store instead dealing with this mega store of crappy customer service. Now I know never to go to this store. Thank you Cabela's I'll pass on your store for my firearms needs. Oh God forbid you go in a few mins before they close. They had 6 employees including one that looked like a manager saying "We close in 5 minutes." No "hello, welcome to Cabela's". It's clear that management promotes this type of attitude towards their customer. Not enough staff for guns sales Went in on Sunday, to redo paper work for a gun I bought. No organized line, just people hangen out by the gun counter waiting there turn. After waiting 30 minutes and not seeing any progress I left. Came back Monday morning at opening figuring less people. We'll I was number 3 in line and still waited over an hour. Only 2 guys behind gun counter yet other workers are just waking around doing nothing. On top of that when it was finally my turn, I got turned away for not having my i1639 form printed out and apparently they can't print it for you. Waste of time and I get to go back again...yay I'd recommend SPORTSMAN WAREHOUSE They have an organized ticket system so people arnt cutting you in line as well as they can print ur i1639 form for you. Never had problems with sportsman's Cabela's has a lot of great stuff, but I WILL NOT be buying another gun there. read more

I found a Curt Echo Mobile trailer brake, they were asking $279.99 way more than most but I needed it so I checked there web page for price matching, and great luck they do price match. I went to customer service and even though their website said they price match Amazon.com customer service said there in store paperwork somewhere said something different. I showed the lady I was referred to by the first person (not sure if manager or not) again what the website said and she insisted they would not honor it no matter what the website said. So here I sit in the parking lot and as you can see by the receipt I bought it because I'm had to have something for family safety sake. What has happened to Cabelas since Bass Pro Shops took over, everything negative IMHO. Their products are cheap foreign made and put politely, less quality than cheap knockoffs. The term "quality" means made to design and fit for intended use. Since Bass Pro Shops (BPS) brought in their own products and management team it's NOTHING REMOTELY similar to Cabelas (a destination in my opinion). BPS is driving a great business model into the ground. Customer's are what make a business and when BPS cannot handle servicing customers needs or providing customer services then there cannot be business. Often their ammo selection is picked over but that's not their fault, nor are WA's draconian laws. I purchased two firearms online through Cabela's website and had them shipped to this Tulalip Cabela's location for pickup. I came in on a Saturday and filled out the paperwork. They have a scannable QR code system to get a place in line in the firearms department. There are a lot of customers and the staff is pretty busy. After I got the call to come back in for the pickup after the background check was complete, there was a snafu with my paperwork (someone mixed my paperwork up with someone else's and it was incorrectly signed). Cabela's staff was extremely communicative about handling this accident and we were able to get it resolved. Tim and his manager Thomas provided me with excellent customer service and communication throughout this process and I was happy to go home with my new purchases. It looks like a hard job to handle so many customers at that department! I was impressed by the guys and gals behind the counter bustling around getting things done.
