My boyfriend and I were visiting lac Saint-Jean for the first time. Before we left, someone recommended this spot. If you're not looking for it, it's easy to miss. Its a small building and it's only open during the summer. They have outdoor seating and a little terrasse. We ordered a large bacon + sausage poutine to share. It came to 11$ and it was worth every single penny! The cheese made the squeeky sound, the fries were crispy on the outside and nice and melty on the inside and the sauce was thick and flavourful. The really surprising thing is that every single fry is perfectly coated with gravy! No dry fries! There was also a very generous serving of bacon/sausage which was also evenly distributed. Basically, if you're in the area, you MUST stop here! read more

Cabane Chez Aline - 11$ for a huge poutine with a generous serving of toppings! - Burgers Near Me - Desbiens, Quebec

IF YOU WANT POUTINE, THIS IS IT. I'M SERIOUS. Our friend Marc recommended this spot when my partner and I did a tour of Lac Saint-Jean. It can be hard to spot if you're not looking for it, as it's just a small stop on the side of the road. It seems like it's popular among locals, as we saw a few people who left the restaurant on foot and a bicyclist. They have a little terrasse, which is a nice option in the summer. We shared a large bacon and sausage poutine, which satisfied my poutine craving in a way it has never before. I usually feel bloated and disgusting after eating poutine, but all I felt was joy and elation. The cheese was as squeaky as could be, and the gravy perfected coated EVERY SINGLE FRY. It's not unusual to be served a poutine with gravy slabbed on the top, so that you end up with sad dry fries at the bottom. NO DRY FRIES. Also, the outside was crispy and the inside was fluffy and hot. And this was all topped off with a very generous serving of sausage and bacon! If you are in the area, Chez Aline is a MUST. NO DRY FRIES!!!!!! read more
