I wrongly made an assumption of what I was going to encounter (One in TorC was like the Twilight Zone). To my very pleasant suprise the rate was more than reasonable and as an added bonus, everything at the dump site worked perfectly and was clean. Many sites across the west have no functioning water hose, broken handles on the water valve or located at inconvenient spots in the park. I was there less than 10 minutes. One mile from I-25. I am a huge fan of soaking in natural hot springs and as a medical professional I know the benefits. Finding the right space is important too. The hot springs aquifer runs under this town and so this camp has 3 spring fed tubs that are available to guests for soaking 24/7. Two are private and a larger one is communal. Guests take turns on a FCFS basis. The camp itself is not big. It's a cozy square courtyard within a privacy wall and they have an eclectic mix of accommodations. There are 6 "stalls" for RVs to back in with full hookups available. It is possible to pitch a tent too. There is a really cool "dome" building and they have a Yurt! They also have three vintage trailers that are awesome and reasonably priced. There are two very nice, clean bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a spring-fed jacuzzi tub. While the neighborhood outside the wall is old and rundown, this camp is a wonderful oasis. Fully gated and secure with no worries here. Out the gate and 5 mins of walking is a great local Taproom and brewery which gets active in the afternoon and evenings. Topping off all this goodness is the camp host, Debra. She is amazing. So friendly and welcoming and focused on making certain all guests are happy and comfortable. If you're coming to TorC, and you love a very relaxing, laidback vibe, this is where you want to stay.

You can leave your things out and no one touches it, even leave stuff in the back of your truck! Everyone follows RV park etiquette here because the rules are strictly enforced. And people watch out for each other and report any kind of rule breaking. Like when we did our first RV trip we didn't know you weren't supposed to drive through the site to check it first. And someone reported us. But they didn't throw us out on the spot because we didn't know, it was our first time in a RV. They gave us a break! Very kind people but we follow the rules so we won't get kicked out for sure because it's such a nice place! It's clean, there are walking trails clearly marked. There is a dog area. There are showers and laundry. What else do you need? Oh yes! A small store in the office! They have ice! So go there if you are looking for a place to stay in Elephant Butte and need access to surrounding areas!

The rates are very reasonable and we love to stay in the premium back in sites that include a shaded patio next to your rig. The park is completely gravel and it gets a bit dusty. If you are looking for a nice place while you visit the lake and TorC, then I highly recommend!

If you are a Catholic I would stay away. The RV park is dirty constantly noisy! Fire hazards in the office no handicap accessible bathroom no handicap accessible laundry. This play should be shut down! I called the fire department to check on its fire codes and the things that were wrong with the entire building and the fire chief ignored me they called the police on me when I tried to show them that there were fire hazards this place should not be state that it is not family friendly dogs are off their leashes people do not pick up their feces if you are miss fortunate enough to be by the dog walk you will be smelling feces and urine your entire time. There are no trees no honorees and no amenities this place does not even sell cokes ice or even the newspaper... There are many people that have been living there for years that have trash night around all over the place stay away.
