As we walked out of a restaurant next door will full bellies, we saw CABA on the way out. Empanadas? We're always up for those! The restaurant was closed but we went on the website and saw they would be at the Thursday market the next day, which we decided to drop by the next morning at opening. The location at the Thursday market is a full fledged food truck that sells their full line of empanadas and desserts (just missing the sandwiches and salads). We ended up ordering two as a snack on the way to Oregon Caves. Chorizo & Cheese ($5) - I love how they have the labels emblazoned on the crust, in this case CC for chorizo cheese. All empanadas are an approximately 5.5 inch puck of dough with ingredients added to the center, the puck folded over and baked. They aren't very big; I was certainly expecting larger for $5. The crust is fantastic - I've had Argentinean empanadas that are clearly overbaked, resulting in burnt acridity. These ones are just on the cusp, baked enough to give some blackened spots and develop a bubbling crusty firmness, but not enough for too many off flavors. It's just overall hard, flaky, and very nice to eat. The interior is filled with cubed sausage-like chorizo, charred a bit on the outside, giving a nice meaty and spicy bite. There's a small amount of cheese and red pepper, and most of the flavor comes from chimichurri baked inside - a delicious fresh tangy herbal kick. (4/5) Malbec Beef ($5) - The same great bake on the crust, this time marked with "MB". The filling is more watery than the chorizo cheese, so it does soak just a tiny bit into the crust making it much more malleable and less crusty than the chorizo cheese. The filling seems to be much more vegetable than meat. It comes with a ton of carrot, onion, and small pieces of potato (that kind of meld into the dish due to how tender they are). There's even a couple of pieces of bayleaf inside, which I assume they mistakenly didn't fish out. There isn't much beef at all, but what's there is tender and flavorful. It tastes like a beef stew, enhanced with the malbec wine, boiled down to give a rich taste without any alcoholic aroma. I think this filling doesn't quite work as well because it has a little too much moisture for the crust to fully support. (4/5) I love how CABA has so many different flavors of empanadas and it seems like they come out with new ones every so often (they had signs up for two new flavors). That makes it a different experience every visit.

A pitstop in Medford and was a bit hungry, so decided to try this place specializing in empanadas! Walking in had a cozy vibe and the person that took our order was very sweet and welcomed us. What we ordered: - beef empanada ($5) - spinach & cheese empanada ($5) - choripan with fries on the side (~$14) all were pretty good with a lot of flavor in it! The beef empanada and the choripan were my favorite but I'd say the empanadas are on the pricier side. I loved they didn't skim on the fillings in all of them! Overall, a good experience and I would recommend.

The food is still good, but the prices have gotten out of hand. These tiny empanadas The food is still great, but the prices have gotten out of hand. These tiny empanadas shouldn't be $5 each--$3.50 was already high but at least somewhat reasonable. I understand prices are rising, but given the portion sizes, it just doesn't add up. I used to come once or twice a month, but now it's only a couple of times a year because it no longer feels worth it. The place is always slow, and I wouldn't be surprised if the high prices are a big reason. I had signed up for their rewards program and have been here many times, even buying a bunch at once for my entire family to take home. Based on how much I've spent, I should have earned enough points for 4-5 free empanadas, but my account still shows 0 points. What's the point of having a rewards program if you don't track points correctly? At this rate, I might check back in 2027--maybe.

YUM!!! All the empanadas were so flavorful and delicious!!! My favorite was probably the special pumpkin one, but all of them were so good. The sandwich was full of chicken and tasted great as well. I love the decorations and cozy seating area, the person who took our order was also very sweet.

The best empanadas north of Buenos Arias . Come and try them there delicious . Small and cozy restaurant .

I've been here several times and always consider it as a place to go when I'm not starving and just want a beer and a snack. It's a walk-in and order kinda place where I've never had to wait. The empanadas have good flavor combos, you can get dessert as well. They have a few beers on tap to choose from. There is some seating against the window in the main room and the side room offers soft lighting and some really pretty plants.

I was visiting my son in Medford last weekend and he recommended CABA. We ordered online and went to pick up our order. The order was ready when we expected it to be. There were quite a few types that we tried and I was excited to taste them all! We got the Creamy Chicken and it had a mild flavor that was very good. I think it could have had a little more salt maybe but I would get it again. The crust was super flaky and cooked perfectly. I also got the spinach and cheese which had a good flavor as well. Again, the crust was very flaky and brown. My favorite was the bacon, goat cheese and date. I didn't taste much goat cheese but the flavor was amazing. My husband ordered the Malbec beef and you could really taste the wine reduction. It tasted like a pot roast empanada. He also got the Onion and Cheese which was super yummy. The onions were cooked down til super tender and you could taste the yummy cheese blend. Surprisingly my favorites were the desserts. Why? I'm not really a sweets person. I am now a sweets person when it comes to CABA. We got the banana and Nutella empanada which was the perfect ratio of ingredients. It was warm and gooey. I would definitely get it again. We also got the Alfajores. I bit into it and I could not believe how tender the shortbread exterior was. Then I tasted the dulce de leche filling and my eyes rolled back into my head. This is an amazing cookie. I was disappointed we didn't order more...like a dozen more. Finally, I tasted the Medialuna with dulce de leche filling. The crust is like a yummy croissant and it's stuffed with dulce de leche amazingness. It's so good I almost cried tears of joy. I didn't want my piece to be finished and was so sad there were no more to eat. I am a fan for life. I'm so sad I live in California and will probably only be able to have these twice a year. If I'm on my deathbed I want the bacon, goat cheese, and date empanada, the Alfajores and Medialuna with dulce de leche. So so good. Bravo CABA!!!

We got off in Medford and the sea of fast food joints parted and up rose the Lomito sandwich from Argentina. The crown jewel of Pacific Northwest sandwiches for only $12. Steak, ham eggs and more in a delicious 9" French roll. All joking aside, it's in the top 3 sandwiches I have ever eaten. It's rare to have simple ingredients come together so perfectly. 5/5 We also had the organic beef and Malbec beef empanadas ($4 each) and they were both good but the Malbec was better. The pastry is so flaky and tasty. 4.5/5 The Porteno chicken salad ($10) was good but the chicken was over cooked and dry. Tip: cook the chicken breast in a sous vide then finish on the grill. The dressing is divine. 3.5/5 So why a 5/5 rating? Venue: it's clean, cute and charming. Not dog friendly though. 5/5 Service: the nicest people in Oregon work here. I kid you not. So personable and charming. 5/5 Value: It's a counter order, 2 person operation so they can keep their operating costs low. The value is off the charts. 5/5 The southern Oregon food scene is largely fast food. CABA stands alone in quality, innovation, value and service. I told them they are going to be very successful. I hope their success doesn't change their business model because they hit a home run. Check it out.

We ordered the asada gourmet tacos $10, asada burrito $10, and Combo 1 pork pupusa with fried plantains and rice & beans $5.50. My favorite was the pupusa. Soft, cheesy, and good flavor. The sides of salsa were sooo good with everything. Their tacos came with handmade tortillas and the "guacamole" was perfect. Again, add some of that salsa with it. Now, I don't typically like my asada burritos with beans, so I asked if it could be made without it. They said the beans were mixed with the rice. I decided to just try it in the burrito. The rice & beans was soooo good, even on its own! Black beans is definitely the way to go. I was also surprised that I liked the fried plantains. I've tried a it a couple times in other places in the past, even a few spots in Miami. However, I was never really fond of them. It's still not something I would regularly order if it wasn't included as a side, but this place was the best I've ever had. This food truck is not pretentious and you get a lot of food for your money. Go check them out.
