The food was great and the staff were really nice! I would definitely come back! I also loved that we each got our own thing of salsa!

Closed SMH! You would think people would update if they are closed. Lames Drove here looking for good Mexican food. Guess I'll keep looking.

Yummy Honduran (and Mexican) restaurant! I have been to Honduras many times and always it when I can get baleadas, pupusas, Honduran typical plates, etc in the states. This place serves all of those things and more, in addition to a full Mexican menu as well (including chilaquiles - can't wait to try those on a return trip). It's a little hole in the wall, and the prices are stellar. Nice staff; mostly Spanish-speaking. We will definitely be back!

Although this was not our first choice, I'm very glad the other restaurant was closed. We picked Cabañas since it was close to where we were, and found it is a very good Mexican/ Honduran restaurant. When we walked in we were greeted warmly. When we said we were planning to get the food to go, they immediately handed us some menus. I asked if they had any recommendations since this was our first time in the restaurant. The hostess gave us a few choices, so we took a booth to decide what we wanted. Once we ordered, the food took maybe 15 minutes to get to us. I asked if they had any other sauces we could try and were told they had already included both red and green sauces for us. This was in addition to the salsa for the chips. The steak fajita nachos had a lot of steak. The onions, peppers, and tomatoes were grilled and were a great compliment. The chips were a little soft but I'm sure that was because it took us 10 minutes to get home. The steak was seasoned but not spicy. The baleadas were so very good. We tried the steak and sausage (chorizo). The major thing for me was the sausage was not greasy at all. I have had chorizo so greasy there was a pool of grease sitting on top. Nothing like that here. All the excellent flavor without the grease. The pastelitos catrachos were also very good. The cabbage salad is served without a sauce so the flavor of the fresh vegetables comes through. We also tried one each of the tacos; al pastor, carnitas, and asada. The asada was slightly dry but very flavorful. The carnitas were moist and flavorful. The al pastor uses a pineapple sauce during cooking but there are no pineapple chunks in the tacos. The meat is juicy and very good. The tacos are served with onion and cilantro, and a lime slice. The salsa is smooth, not chunky. It's flavorful but not spicy. For that you need to try the red or green sauces. The red is smoky with a decent heat. The green is clean and hot. I used the red on beef and green on pork. I don't think you can go wrong no matter what you use the sauces on. We thought it was a bit warm in the dining area while we were waiting. The kitchen was putting out a lot of heat. The ceiling fans or wall air conditioning units were not on. This is a place I will definitely return to. There are several other items on the menu I really want to try.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. This location is basically a Honduran restaurant with a Mexican menu. The customer service was mediocre at best. I ended up having to walk up to the counter to speak with the waitress multiple times. We ordered the tacos. They were not authentic. They were terrible. The menu says they are served in a corn tortilla. Unfortunately, i was served flour tortillas (makes a big difference). I asked for corn tortillas and we were charged extra for that. The chicken taco seemed completely unseasoned. And the beef taco was ground beef (ew) so it made the tortilla soggy. But even worse, it was that canned Hormel ground beef with the chunks of potato in it (double ew). We also ordered the enchiladas. They were prepared Honduran style on hard corn tortillas. I couldn't take more than a bite of it because it was so disgusting. Once again, it was covered in the canned Hormel ground beef. And had some really gross sauces drizzled on top. My stomach still feels weird from eating that. But hey, at least the chips and salsa were good.

First time trying Honduran food, the menu is large and it was a bit difficult to chose from not knowing the food lol The portion was great and had various items, not sure if I made the best choices had the food was a bit bland for me. The owner was so nice and friendly, and the food had a nice homemade feeling.

We got the one with cheese and the other with cheese and chicharrón. They were so delicious and flavorful. My hub got the Churrasco Salvadoreño and it was so yummy and perfectly seasoned. We also got fried cheese, which was the bomb dot com, lol. We got for beverages horchata & jugo de mora with milk, which both were delicious and refreshing. Service was perfect, too. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

They have a broader menu which for me had a modicum of things worth trying, but I certainly came seeking the grilled corn taste. I ordered two pupusas with corn flour and one with rice, and honestly I couldn't tell the difference (or they just gave me corn by accident). This place does offer the option to get a bean-filled pupusa without cheese, which is handy for those people that have particular dietary needs. I got two with cheese as well, one with the delightful little flower buds (loroco) distinctive to this cuisine, and another with peppers. The fermented cabbage (curtido) that comes with it was plentiful and adds a fantastic taste and texture contast. Some empanadas with plantain and milk were sweet and a new taste for me. They had a variety of tropical fruit juices, and I wasn't unhappy with my decision to add a cup. They were timely and on top of things for a takeout order through the typical online vendors, but it was a big and nice enough place to eat in.

The options were quickly listed out loud, and there were no physical or printed menus to refer back to. I was even served a Dr Pepper that was past its expiration date. The server didn't seem to know the prices of anything and was dismissive when we asked questions. The explanation was that the car show caused the limited setup, but since these events happen regularly, it seems reasonable to expect a simple printed limited menu by now. Once our food arrived, no one checked on us again -- not a single refill or follow-up. We also had kids with us, and none of the lids fit their cups properly, which made things messy and frustrating. The food itself was decent, but overall the experience was disappointing. There are definitely better places nearby that offer more organization, better service, and attention to customers.

Sad to say, this place missed almost every single thing that I look for in a restaurant. We came in and were seated quickly, which was nice. The staff weren't overly friendly, in fact, seemed standoffish. This didn't bother me, so we sat down and ordered a couple of drinks. Their margarita was pretty much a glass of sour mix. I asked our waiter if I could have a slice of fresh jalapeño for my margarita and he actually told me no. Not sure how that works, as fresh jalepenos appear on a number of menu items. The bottle of beer was nice and cold, however it's kind of hard to mess that up. As an appetizer we ordered bean dip & chips, which was more or less a bean purée with a little bit of melted cheese added. Not impressive. My wife ordered chicken fajitas, which we both tried, and both agreed there wasn't anything special about them. For myself, I ordered the Colombian hamburger, the "hamburgerusa" or something to that effect. It featured some unique flavors but overall failed to impress me. One thing that really irritated me was that it was like pulling teeth to get our waiter to bring us anything, from glasses of water, to a plate for my wife's fajitas. The whole refusing to add a slice of jalapeño to my margarita really made me bump this place down from the two stars I was planning to rate this place down to the one star it gets now. That just really rubbed me the wrong way. I'd stay away if I were you. I know we definitely won't come back.
