My bookmarked places were all packed so we had to go off the trusty app and go rogue. Although, to be completely honest... this place had shown up in searches before. We walk into a tiny, four tables only place. Normally, forget about walk-ins but somehow we were lucky and they put us three at a 2-person table underneath the bar. Pretty odd at first but after dinner i was happy that I was able to experience this. We went for the menu of €20 but asked for one dish with truffle for 2 people. That would add €5 to the menu. And trust me... I would have killed if I didn't tried it and knew it was that good. Perfect buttery pasta with a load of truffle! I died and went to heaven. All the other dishes were amazing as well. From starter to dessert and service was pretty fast. But really... that truffle pasta...

But on a recent trip, due to COVID restrictions and early curfew, we ordered takeout for dinner pretty much every night--when not snacking on jamon and cheese and olives. Tapas don't really work for takeout, so we decided to try pizza, Indian food, Chinese, etc. Our first experience was takeout from Viva Napoli, a nearby pizza spot in the Cabanyal. We ended up ordering two different pizzas, and both were surprisingly delicious. Crust was cooked nicely and the toppings were high quality. Definitely a pleasant find and much better than the pizza I had in Jerez once...but we'll save that story for another day. So if you find yourself in the Cabanyal, after a long day on the beach and exploring the beautiful neighborhood, and you're craving pizza, Viva Napoli will get the job done. Big time.
