Love this place. The instructor is excellent. Very friendly clientele and definitely has a family vibe. I am 72 and felt very welcomed.

Under the leadership of Kru Rick, the atmosphere is welcoming, respectful, and inclusive. I started at rock bottom. Exhausted and carrying extra weight, I couldn't manage a single push-up, yet I was treated like part of the team from day one. The coaches are knowledgeable and offer thoughtful feedback. Classes are challenging and fun, and the people here are wonderfully supportive and encouraging. I started for physical fitness and stayed because Muay Thai has had such a positive impact on me mentally. A year and a half flew by and I'm down 30 lbs and feel stronger and more confident in my body. Muay Thai is healing. I've had a rough several years, and training has helped me work through fear and other difficult emotions. Over time, I've become more resilient and grounded. I genuinely love this sport and it has changed me in ways I didn't expect.

Unfortunately the drive was further than I thought and he did let me know of a closer place to me which I found very honest and upstanding. Unlike other gyms where all students get the same training day after day; coaches tailor a specific workout for you. Coach Tyler is one of the best coaches hands down. We make mistakes in life out of lack of experience, we are all learning and working each day to be better people. Everyone has a human right to train and be wherever they want too. Come try out a free week and see if it's enjoyable. In life we should spent time exercising now versus a life of pain just being still in the future. Attentive to detail, encouraging, and willing to work with whatever constraints a student may have. And every now and then, Kru Patrick drops in and runs a class, which is of course next-level. Like any sport, you get out what you put in. I've felt the change in my strength, stamina, and technique in a very short amount of time. VTC is great for kids and adults, no matter if you're just trying to stay active or if you want to go win belts in Thailand. I highly recommend VTC to anyone who is interested in starting a martial art, whether for exercise, competition, or self-defense. See you on the mat!

We're still new to Valor but hope to be here for many years with goals for them to grow, have fun and compete. They're always eager to learn more and strive to be the best version of themselves as fighters. I did my research on other gyms, and we felt like this was the place where they can grow at their own pace. The boys have been receiving great feedback during and after their training sessions. As a parent, I've had positive interactions with the Coaches and would recommend Valor.

The family business vibe that kept me for 6 years was minimal. The owner (Patrick) turned into a MAGA keyboard warrior. I avoided Patrick's classes because it was 45 min of stretching and 15 min of workout. Coach Kirby's classes kept me going since my strength gains were worth it (and you don't need to take your shoes off for strength training lol). There was no point in coming here after the last certified personal trainer quit their strength program and more women gradually left. I would rather drive more to train at a different gym (more than one Muay Thai & strength gyms exist in Sacramento) than come here. I don't mind the cost as long as I am in a clean facility and the vibe is worth it. The only reason they have one star left is for Coach P. - he is a good Muay Thai coach and a rockstar. I didn't really go to Coach Rocci's classes until last year, but the few times I did his music was the best for sparring. Pro tip: use a different personal FB account to post political content where gym members can't see them. Regardless of whether people agree/disagree with your views, there is a level of professionalism needed if you want to be a successful business owner.

They don't just promote everyone automatically like some places do. My son is mildly autistic and this is the sport that he thrived at because of the structure and orderliness of it. They understand that kids have different learning styles and different levels of motivation and are able to make it work for everyone. The kids really enjoy all the instructors and respond well to instruction and even discipline when it is warranted. I can't speak to cost / value because I have nothing to compare it against but for us it is affordable and all the costs related to uniform, tournaments, and belt ceremonies have good value. I would recommend this place to any child or adult looking to enter the world of martial arts.
