Another secret, dingy, dark and disturbed basement bar that makes Melbourne famous is C-Grade, the sister-in-crime to our old mate Third Class (get it?) and of course Honky-Tonks way back when.
The cool kids come here to pose, occasionally dance but not to talk to each other and make new friends (talking to each other is SO last year.)
The bar is set up as a 'service slot' - kind of like an ATM which means no muss and no fuss and really adds to that "we don't talk to each other" vibe that's going on.
The music is pretty intense dance music but they will frequently have big-name DJ's doing guest appearances, so keep an eye out for announcements.
I'm not a big fan of C-Grade. It's just a bit too poser-y for my liking, I prefer a place where I can act like a dork and not be judged! But if you like your music loud and venues dark then this is the place for you. read more
