I was keen to check this club out as the reviews are SO mixed! So here was how my experience went... I got to the club at around midnight with my girlfriend my best mate and his girlfriend. There was a small queue and some people got in and a few got knocked back (and IMO, the bouncers made great choices!) When we got to the front the door person wasn't super friendly..more like a bit of a job interview but once he worked out we weren't drunk and just wanted to have fun...he let us in, and in we went. Door charge was $15 (apparently it goes to $20 after midnight), and after we paid, it was up the stairs and to the bar. First thing I noticed was the venue was super cosy with a kind of 60's/70's retro vibe...with lot's of lounges and (the best part) a full 70's light up disco dance floor! There was no flashing lights or strobes...just slow moving mirror balls and more retro lighting effects...which we loved. The music was not mainstream...but the DJs mixed it up really well with house tunes, some disco and a bit more electronic stuff later. We didn't really know any songs but it was great to dance to and the sound system sounded... AMAZING! The drinks were a bit pricey but they were served well... with lots of ice and fresh lime in nice big glasses..so we didn't mind the premium. By 2am we were all having a great time and the club was HEAVING..with interesting people and a really great vibe. We met some fun crew and when we left (around 4.30am), the place looked like it was only just getting started...but it was more than enough for us old folks...but we will, absolutely, be back sometime soon. Finally, we were REALLY looking for the bad stuff we read in some reviews but... the place was super clean, the staff were really friendly (apart from the guy on the door...but we get that his job lends to a bit of attitude), the drinks were delicious and the music was awesome! read more
