Thought I was going to get a good haircut gina chopped off the back so much I'll never go back again never ever

I am very torn about this place. I get my hair cut here by Kaylyn and she is great, always does a great job (I would give her 5 stars!) However- the rest of the place sucks. I got my eyebrows done here once and it seriously took 3 minutes (no clean-up or anything) and it looked awful. The worst eyebrow wax ever. The front desk service also sucks. read more

I was visiting family in Bloomington and needed hair color help ASAP. My mother literally picked this place out of the phonebook and it was a lucky hit. The clientele is typically *much* older, but what a sweet group of people. Donald is fantastic and did an amazing job on my highlights. His styling was excellent, too. Total cost was about $40, as I recall. If I can schedule my highlights around my trips to IL, I'll save about $80! read more

For the love of god do not go to this salon. First time I went my hair cut looked horrible. I went to another salon the next day to have it fixed immediately. Being the forgiving person I am, I decided that I'd give them another chance. I asked for a trim. Nothing more nor anything fancy. The "stylist" disregarded my wishes and decided to chop off varying sections of hair. The "texture" added ruined the quality of my hair, I could not be more disappointed. read more

I go to ISU and for the past 4 years, I have been too afraid to get my haircut in Bloomington because I didn't know who I can trust. I needed a hair cut so badly that I broke down and went to C B. It is a good thing I did because they did an amazing job. Leah was my hair dresser and she is awesome! I asked for a trim and thats what I got, a trim. Many times, asking for a trim results in an inch and a half off. I will be going back to C B's with Leah! She was so nice that she gave me some hair products because my hair was fried and with her help, in just a few days I've already noticed healthier and softer hair! GO TO LEAH!! read more

I was supposed to have my hair done by a stylist from CB hair design for my wedding. I scheduled an appointment with one person for the trial, and she did not show up. While I was waiting there, they said they would be able to get me in with someone else, so I agreed to switch stylists. An hour later than my trial appointment they finally got me in with someone else. Once my appointment started it took way longer than expected to figure out what we were doing with my hair, because when I described what I wanted she told me that it wouldn't look good (even though I have had many updos and told her exactly what I wanted). I finally gave in and told her to do what she was thinking. Low and behold, it looked awful, so she completely restarted. When it was all said and done, it looked okay but was not what I had wanted. It was very frustrating because I had told her what I wanted and she didn't listen. I was there for a total of 3 hours for the trial, and this turned into an ordeal. I ended up scheduling a trial with someone else two days before then wedding and going with another salon. I would not go there again or recommend them. read more

Ok I'm going to try and be as fair as possible here. I am new in town and went here because it had good reviews on yelp. I am a twenty something female and wanted to cut about 6 inches off. To be fair my hair lady was super nice and experienced but my haircut took over an hour and when i got home and took a closer look it was all uneven and looked nothing like the picture i showed her. I'm sure if i went back she would have fixed it but I dont really have time for that and i kind of expect things to be right the first time so i have had to trim it to make it even myself. Anyway, I will probably look else where next time. Probably a great place for a quick trim or for a kid's cut but not if you want anything major. read more

I had an appointment ,talked about what I want to get done...she sat me on the chair,she said she will go to mix the colors,then she came back saying :"actually,I don't have time for this today,and if I would like to reschedule it for another time?"... I third what the others have said. I desperately needed a trim while at home, so headed to CB since it was close by. The clientele is mostly an older bunch, but the stylists are young and know what they are doing. I had Leah (Lea? pronounced "Lay-uh") and she was fun to talk to and did a really great job on my hair. Only $25 for a cut! read more

Based on the other review I read I decided to try this hair salon out. I am currently a grad student in college and need a good hair cut and color that is good quality, yet inexpensive. This place for sure was everything I wanted! Erika was my stylist and did a fabulous job. My highlights and lowlights were exactly what I needed, and look wonderful. She was very nice and personable, and obviously likes to keep up with the most current trends. I've lived many places and am always on the lookout for good quality hair styling for cheap. I found it here. Only $75 for 3 different colors of highlight/lowlights and cut. Super good deal from what I've seen elsewhere, especially for the quality. The other clients were of an older generation, but I heard that changes during evening hours (I was there on a weekday morning). I highly recommend this place. read more

I have been going to CB for a few years now and really like my stylist. I know the phone rings off the hook and sometimes doesn't get answered but it looks like they're working on that issue from the last time I was in 2 weeks ago. Sabrina has dome my hair twice now, and both times I was highly satisfied not only with the results of my color and cut but also with the quality of service sabrina offers, it's nice to feel comfortable while your being pampered, and sabrina makes sure you feel that way. read more

I went to C B Hair Design for a hair cut about a month ago. Sabrina, flat ironed my hair before cutting it even though I asked her not to. I am guessing she flat ironed my hair on the highest temperature since no matter how many conditioning and hot oil treatments my hair is getting it is really dried and damaged since then. I will never go back there. read more

After moving to the area several years back I searched and searched, trying several different salons, until I finally found a keeper at C B. Leah does my hair and she does such a great job! She's also very nice and easy to talk to. The prices are also very reasonable. Alright, so I had moved back to the Bloomington area temporarily and I needed a good spot to get my mane taken care of. I had gone here as a young pup a couple of times, but moved back and forth and didn't keep up here. As I moved back, I remember that coming here went relativley well so I looked up reviews here on good ol' Yelp and I cant agree more. I decided to call and request a cut from Leah, via a positive review from Laura K, and man was I lucky to have an appointment with her. She is the best stylist I've ever had. She gives me a great price for a cut and brow waxing everytime I go in there. She does a great job coming up with ideas and compromising with me to find the best style of haircut to get. Not only does she rock with some clippers and a razor, but she's quite personable as well. Every time I go in for a cut, we have a good time just catching up or talking, and you can tell she genuinly cares about her clientele. Can't recommend her enough! read more

I have long hair and bangs and have had the worst luck finding a stylist who doesn't want to cut too much off and can correctly cut bangs. Evi was wonderful, she fit me in last minute and massaged my head during the wash which was so relaxing. She really listened to me and only cut as much as I had requested and no more. She also dried my bangs first before cutting (which is what all stylists should do!) and then dried my whole head and asked how I liked everything. Very kind, listened to my needs, friendly, and a great cost for wash, cut, and a blow-dry at $25. read more

I have been going to Arelli at CB for several months. She is awesome! She furthers her education by attending trade shows frequently and it's easy to get an appointment with her b/c she works several days a week. The stylists are very good. I have been a client of CB Hair Design for approximately 10 years and have never had a complaint regarding the care and styling of my hair. Cathy Ethington was my stylist and she was the perfect for me. I gave the poor rating primarily due to the rudeness and unprofessionalism of the receptionist working (whenever she feels like it) the front desk. For years, she has been rude and downright hateful toward me. Today (7/6/17) was the final straw. After a terrible encounter with her, I have decided not to ever return. Remember, I have been a client for 10 years, coming on a weekly basis. I talked with the owner regarding this situation and he completely supported the bad behavior of his employee. He told me that 400 people come into the shop and I am the only one who has ever complained. Perhaps, he should take a look at some of the reviews here. The front desk was mentioned negatively in several reviews. I will miss Cathy but I refuse to be the brunt of this unprofessional receptionist; so, I will be going elsewhere.
