This company had poured a driveway in the past for me without issue so I said ok - get a quote. Eddie came out, quoted the job, and was hired - a week later I got a text asking if I wanted the existing pavers in the area to be saved after the concrete was poured, and that he would be out that day to measure for the prep work. I said yes. This was the only time Eddy contracting spoke with me during the job. Two days later no one had come by, and I had no contact. The landscaper brought a different contractor over to quote the job & agreed to contact Eddy to cancel. The next day I had to go out of town and returned to find the pavers removed from the area. The landscaper was not able to get a hold of Eddy, but the other company confirmed it was not them, so Eddy had done it. The landscaper called Eddy again to cancel, a subsequent phone call the next & Eddy was not answering his phone, another phone call was made and a voicemail left not to finish the job. I left town and returned 2 days later to find a concrete slab poured and covered with a Tarp. After we confirmed it was Eddy's work - the other company was informed that we couldn't continue as Eddy refused to answer the phone, return messages, or accept a cancellation. I wasn't truly upset until the next day when his employees had come to lift the tarp and I saw the pad that was poured. This was the first time I face to face got to meet anyone from his company on my property and speak to them about the job. The job was to connect two concrete foundation blocks that were about 8" deep and make one solid level pad out of all of them. Eddy's team poured a small concrete patio slab over top of existing base material that was under the removed pavers. The amount of concrete was about half of that of the other pads, and not all of the pavers had been removed so they jutted between the existing deck work and the concrete. Eddy contracting then hammered out the pavers on the border from the pad and under the deck - revealing a large nearly 3" gap. The pad was not flat foundation, it was sloped. I was told that it had to be this way for drainage - even though what was asked for was a flat block to connect to the existing foundation blocks. They asked for a check, I told them I wouldn't pay until I spoke with their boss. Steven Eddy called me demanding money, no courtesy of "how can we fix this, what's the problem?" even though just two years prior I handed him $12,000.00 cash for a driveway. I asked him if he saw the job his people did, he said no. After an hour of talking he said that he would see what could be done to fix it and contact me back. I explained what was wrong, why I was unhappy, and how it wasn't what I had ordered installed. A little over a week passed, this morning Steve Eddy called me demanding money. He then proceeded to tell me that I was crazy, there was nothing wrong (even though it's a completely different project than the landscaper hired him for) and started insulting my home (unfinished stucco) He became, loud, angry, and when told to calm down threatened me and told me to meet him somewhere to fight. I'm a grown adult, being asked to meet for a fight like I'm some testosterone imbalanced teenager. I still have to pay now to have the shoddy work removed. Eddy was told he can see me in court if he feels he deserves payment. The worst part is there was no communication with me prior to the job work being done, or even during. The entire time I've told him that if he repairs the job I would pay, but not until it's right. He would rather insult someone verbally and threaten violence. Very professional. If you would like to overpay for shoddy work, then be threatened with violence when you asked for it to be fixed, whilst having to pay someone else to rip it all out and re-do it. Well, this is the company you'll get that from.
