Lux Foundation Solutions recommended one thing: replace the basement door. That's it. (And they don't even do doors!) What impressed me most was that Chuck Koach, Lux's Foundation Specialist, assessed things the others didn't. He checked the walls using a moisture meter, thoroughly examined existing interior drain and sump pump systems, inspected crawl spaces for water issues, and checked inside and out for foundation concerns. I recently had my driveway redone with Pavetec and generally had a good experience with some…read morehesitations preventing a 5 star review. They were very quick to communicate and come out for an estimate. The estimator was very thorough in describing their process. They were also quick to provide an estimate. On the day of the project, the team was very timely and initially asked if I had any questions. Where things felt a little off was about 45 minutes into the project after removing the top layer a member from the team (assuming project manager) I hadn't met before came to discuss changing the paving approach that was thoroughly described by the estimator to bypass updating the foundation of the driveway and using what was originally there. Given that there was going to be material reduction, I had to ask if they were going to knock down the price any. When I pressed why we were changing approach, the project manager didn't have many answers outside of the foundation wasn't cracking, but didn't tie it to the sinking issue I was having that drove the driveway replacement in the first place. I ultimately went with the new plan, but mainly because I felt pressure from the project manager and didn't feel I had time to research/consult if the alternative approach was really better for my situation. One other minor point was that I had to ask them to do more to clean up on and around the driveway (my walkway still has paving marks and I end up doing more sweeping after they left) that should have been taken care of before wrapping up the job. Overall, they were priced cheaper than most which is why I am going with 4 stars, but would have appreciated more honestly in the estimate up front. If you end up going with them, press the estimator to get a good understanding of any options they may spring on you on project day.

My experience with JES Repair was frustrating and ultimately disappointing…read more The project itself was completed on schedule, but the quality and planning of the work left a lot to be desired. The beam repairs appear to have been completed in the easiest way possible, with little consideration for the work that would need to happen afterward. The crew cut the subfloor approximately three inches away from the walls and left it unsupported. As a result, my flooring contractor had to tear out two sections of flooring and replace the entire subfloor in those areas because the necessary repairs were never addressed during the original project. Even more frustrating, JES only opened a limited section of the floor instead of exposing the entire affected area. Once the flooring contractor had everything opened up, additional damaged wood was discovered that now requires even more repairs. Since JES was already working in that area, it is difficult to understand how these issues weren't identified or why the floor wasn't opened far enough to properly inspect the entire section. Addressing everything while the area was already exposed would have saved significant time, cost, and disruption. The inspection process was another major disappointment. The county inspection failed and was rescheduled without anyone from JES informing me ahead of time. I was then told that no one from JES would attend the reinspection and that it was between me and the county. As a homeowner, I'm not a contractor and shouldn't be expected to answer technical questions or represent the company's work to the building inspector. I hired JES expecting professional workmanship, thorough planning, and support through the entire process. Instead, I've been left coordinating additional repairs, paying for work that could have been avoided, and handling inspection issues that should have been managed by the contractor. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend JES Repair. UPDATE (07/08/2026): I connected with the resolution team and are working through the issues in a positive and constructive manner.
