Locally owned and operated. The staff are very friendly and this is one of the only stores in town. They have a little bit of everything!

One star because working at rays apple Market in cg used to be a blessing. I used to thoroughly…read moreenjoy working there and meeting customers and coworkers. But as time went on and management changed lots of other behaviors either got worse or didn't change at all. Being upset about being short staffed is understandable but what I will never understand is grown adults being completely irrationally rude to minors or young adults or anyone else that were too call in or want to have a set schedule. The gm will over the intercom embarrass employees that call in that day(the ones he doesnt like). He will be rude and all over you for not following a simple rule like looking normal for customers. But yet let other rule breakers slide, like actually filthy, smelly, fat, people that pick their noses and then touch groceries. He'll let them work there with no problem but someone has to hide her face over small pieces of jewelry. Part of working there is being respectful, professional, clean, happy and whatnot. But majority of workers sit there and talk badly on people, they don't care who it's in front of either! They have no respect, and they are not happy, at least a good amount of them arent. Imagine, a grown man, special needs or not, a grown man threatened the life of a minor but only got sent home after being mad for being talked to about the situation. He didn't get fired! Instead sent home so that the next day he can continue the same behavior to other coworkers. Sexual harassment has been a thing, those workers have gotten warnings but really, how many do you need before it becomes a real problem. If having piercings is not "well groomed" I would prefer not to see the gms chest hair, I'd prefer not to see people pick their nose, butt, and bellybutton before touching my groceries. Rays apple Market loses decent to good employees because they can't get rid of the problem employees. I will be doing my best to shop elsewhere until the gm and the rest of the staff are retrained or replaced. A thank you to those employees that are real humans with understanding of problems and made it easier to work through that mess. I appreciate all those who are good. You know who you are

When we first arrived to town, I was not excited to go to a small town grocery.... To my amazement,…read moreit is really nice. Stays well stocked & even has my Toasted Almond Milk (that I cant find anywhere). And we found the most amazing healthy bread (since i know they have it, I make my way through here since we have moved locations)- The prices aren't extremely higher than larger grocery stores & we even find some fun things to try. VERY clean / SUPER nice people. All smiles & helpful! OH- and the most AMAZING ready to eat ribs (if you get there early enough)

Very clean and sleek, like all of the other Cosentino's Price Choppers. As much as I like HyVee,…read moresome of the older ones, like the one down the street, don't have produce that look as fantastic, are a bit grungy, and give off this 80's feel. I kind off feel happy, maybe even a little hip, sipping on my Starbucks Chestnut Praline Latte while browsing the multitude of milk options in the beautiful refrigerated section. That being said, the snazziness hides some of its glaring issues. First of all, it is hard to find more obscure items, if they have them at all. For example, I searched high and low for hazelnuts but it was in vain. Also, I find the aisle organization odd. School supplies same aisle as cereal? Lastly, I wish there were more Kansas City products, like Roasterie or Parisi coffee and Farm to Market Bread. I do think that Price Chopper is a great addition to St. Joe (and a bit jealous... I wish they came to Atchison instead). I love having another grocery store option beside HyVee (and no, Walmart doesn't count).

This afternoon I went to Price Chopper to pick up a few items. Went to check out and a friend came…read moreup behind me and started talking while I was in line starting to check out. Next thing I know the cashier, Russell, told me my total. I said "whoa, I want to use my rewards and handed him my Price Chopper card." Cashier then mumbled " pay attention". I felt that this remark was uncalled for and rude. Will not go through his checkout line again.
