The park has a nice pavilion area and clean, well-kept bathrooms, which makes it comfortable for longer visits. Throughout the trails and overlooks, there are several benches dedicated in memory of loved ones. These add a very touching and reflective feel to the experience and make it more than just a hike--it's a place to slow down and appreciate the moment. Overall, it's a beautiful, quiet place for nature, reflection, and lake views, and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

There is a paved trail which isn't too long, but is ADA compliant so that's a plus. We did a three mile loop, checking out the bluffs and taking the stairs down to the secluded little beach. Lots of poison ivy....which is normal to the area, but really it's best to avoid it by staying on trail and covering up. Seemed like leashed and/or well behaved dogs were welcome. Worth checking out.

Caught Chinook/King Salmon, Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Coho Salmon. Learned a lot about the history of the lake and more. My husband won the "fish story" of the day after we circled around after a broken line and partially hand reeled then reattached and reeled a salmon back in! We couldn't have done it without their guidance and expertise. They were professional but still fun and lighthearted, attentive but not overbearing, cautious but not overly so. I appreciated their focus on safety and our comfort (we wouldn't have gone too far out if the waves were too choppy or anyone was getting "seasick") and they seemed 100% genuinely dedicated to making sure we had a great trip, from the planning to the fishing to cleaning our fish etc. The boat was beautiful and comfortable, the bathroom and deck were clean and clearly well maintained. We will definitely be back. Can't wait for some smoked trout and salmon filets, mmmmm!

A very nice rails-to-trails paved bike trail! Signage is great, and plentiful. Parking along the…read moretrail is easy, and it's an easy ride, alongside a railroad, with native plants, and through the backyards of neighboring villages. We biked the trail a short distance from Brown Deer up to beautiful downtown Cedarburg (5.3 miles one way). It was very nice, and bike racks at the trail head in Cedarburg are plentiful. The trailhead at Brown Deer has several places to get a beverage or bite to eat at: St. Paul Fish Co., Cafe Hollander, Colectivo Coffee, so we ended out our ride with a refreshment. Interurban rails-to-trails projects are typically more rustic than say, County Park Lakefront trails, given that they follow a railroad path. This lovely paved trail follows alongside a railroad, but is not paved over the railroad tracks. I love the rails-to-trails concept, and I look forward to many more rides on the trail!

**Disclaimer: I haven't ridden very far into this trail…read more Getting that out of the way, this is a nice, well paved well marked trail that, combined with the northwestern portion of the oak leaf trail will take you from downtown Milwaukee through most of the town's of ozaukee county, with only a brief onroad portion (for the oak leaf trail) at green bay avenue in Glendale. Its a little more rustic feeling than the oak leaf (hey, even the power lines here become mainly wood as opposed to metal once you cross the county line) and its a lot less congested than riding the trails in Milwaukee proper (although love those too!) Also, although the name has "urban" in the title, I found the trail anything but and very pastoral (I've been waiting for a while to use that word in a review.) People seem more likely to give the universal biking/jogging "hi" and accompanying wave here than in the city. There's many places to stop for coffee, food etc along the way and a few stops in from the mke county line is a "family community center" that looked useful for pit stops. Another great addition to the greater Milwaukee areas parks and trails system!

The lake was quite calm and we got out an hour later than usual due to miscommunication on our part, but according to other boats, we didn't miss any action. Didn't take too long and we were put on fish as we were fishing away from the masses of boats on free fishing day. We ended up with 8 or 9 for the day but lost at least 10 or 12, no fault of our Captain!!! After calling around to other Captains , they were in the same boat ( no pun intended) and also losing fish either right after hook up or 20 feet from the boat. Frustrating and we gave Rob a lot of crap about it and even checked the hooks ( yes, they were sharp) and it happens to the best!!! After getting back to the Dock and talking to other fishermen at the hotel, we did damn good compared to others!!! Captain Rob is a stand up guy and we had a hell of a good time with him and would recommend him and his services to anyone without hesitation!!! Thanks Rob!!! 5 guys from Minnesota and 1 Yooper !!!

The day we went was cold as this spring has been an interesting one so far. Either way it was a good time because we were on the lake and throwing back a few beers with the crew of yahoo's we had on the boat. We didn't catch our limit as we stayed closer inland due to choppy waters. The captain knows what he's doing and fishing Lake Michigan can be exciting when the fish are hitting. As they say though "A bum day out fishing is better than a great day at work". We'll be back again and Nicky Boy will be our charter.

But I'm not here to review purchased items, I'm here to review the company's Port Washington store. Located on the southern end of the downtown strip, this store has a "woodsey" feel. There is much more product in the store than I initially anticipated and one could spend a fair amount of time browsing everything from womens and mens apparel to dog accessories to cook books to candies. There are many unique items that make fun gifts for relatives and friends; I often come here to find something for that hard-to-shop-for person. I have been in this store many times and it is always clean and well organized. The associates are friendly. However, a strange phenomenon occurs in this space. Time does not seem to exist. Not for the customers, not for the employees, just not at all. Ever. Don't get me wrong, the calm atmosphere is relaxing and I dont enjoy the hustle and bustle ever. It's often a neccessary evil. However, it should not take 40 minutes to make a simple exchange with 2 cashiers and a customer at each register. When an older lady tried to cut in front of me in line, after I waited all that time, I nearly lost my cool. The snail's pace is my only issue about this store. I do reccomend checking it out if you are in the area, and definitely for a unique gift item. Just know that it isn't a store you can just run in and run out.
