Despite registering on time and paying the full amount (referral coupon s3friends did not work), I was not added to the mailing list and not assigned any team, and had no direction on where/how to proceed. I tried calling the numbers listed on the Facebook/Instagram pages for further information, but the calls never went through. I then reached out via email following the first week of play, but received no response. Finally, I reached out to the phone number (listed as s3 leagues corp.) on my payment receipt only to get an irritated response from the organizer asking me not to contact her on her personal cell phone. Repeated follow ups produced delayed and shallow email responses. After this entire ordeal, I was not added to the mailing list and was not notified of the cancellation during the rain out last week. I finally got fed up of such inconsideration and asked for a refund, to which I received no response. Last I checked, I have been blocked from the Instagram page for following up on the matter. This has been a terrible experience for me because at one point, I was eager to join this league and meet new people and make friends in the same manner that I did in the social meetup prior. The organizer of this group, Jessica, has proven to be incompetent, inconsiderate and disrespectful, and I would certainly not have even thought about joining this group had I known that she was the one behind the scenes.

I've been having so much fun. Going out after each game with my teammates is great. I've also gotten to know players of other team. I'm looking forward to other events that S3 is offering and next season. I know once softball comes back around I will be signing up for that, too. I also want to mention that communication with Jess has been amazing. She is very responsive to questions and concerns. Even in the beginning she made sure we all knew what was going on before games started for the season.

SBS Varsity Card is probably the best addition in my wallet and my newest best friend…read more With my varsity card, I have been able to get discounts and/or free admissions to various SBS events such as the Whitewater Rafting trip, the Cinco (or Uno) de Mayo Party, the SBS Birthday party, and the upcoming "I'm on a Boat" party, as well as free drinks or complimentary appetizers during VIP hours. Also as a Varsity Card holder, I get special invitations to private parties with free access and even free drinks! If you play on a league, you receive 10% off your individual team fee. The card can also be used at various venues for no line/no cover access and 10 - 20 % discounts on foods and products. Additionally, the card already comes equipped with $25 from BuyYourFriendADrink.com to use at participating bars! The best part is that I only have to carry one card to get all these discounts and special access, all the while doubling as my BYFAD card. Just a Note: SBS also offers a JV card as well with similar discounts and access.

I drove from an hour away and they couldn't bother to tell anyone if the matches were delayed, postponed or cancelled. When I asked one of the head honcho on Facebook, they were on vacation and was told that, "if no one reached out to you, just assume it's on." What great gen z sounding response. Avoid hub sports at all cost. You have a team that the their heads up their buttholes running the show that don't know crap about the sport or any type of basic communication.

Half of a League…read more Joined a basketball league in Cambridge. The league operator or whatever struggled to get guys in the league. Instead of waiting and refunding us because he was stuck at 3 teams for over a week. He begged us to ask if people wanted to join the league. Ok so we're able to scrape a couple guys together. We have a "full" league now. 2 teams all free agents, and 2 actual teams. Except of the 2 F.A. teams 1 team has 5 players and the other has 7. Meanwhile the other 2 teams in the league have full rosters, literally at least 10 players each. Ok whatever bad luck of the draw but whatever. Except the gym doubles as a soup kitchen, auditorium for a school play, (unfortunately, and with all respect) a wake was held there, Literally this was the smallest most ridiculous court I've ever seen. On top of the fact that it hadn't been cleaned in a solid 2 years, so extremely slippery. Fast forward the league saw 3 injuries all because of lack of traction. Then in the makeshift playoffs, everyone is hustled out of surprise ref fees, and scorekeeper fees. (never heard of a score keeper fee EVER) But more importantly It says in the rules F.A. Teams do not pay ref fees. But in order to play our playoff game 5 vs 4 might I add, we had to pay the ref and score keeper fee. Don't mess with their B-Ball leagues, they seem to just be a money grab. I requested a refund for my playoff game. Lets see if the shady guy writes me back. He didn't have a problem emailing me when he was asking me to help fill up his half a league. But WE'LL SEE. 4 teams, 1 severely unfilled, Weird refs, and terrible court.

You can definitely sign a contract, but it's not required and i like that i've never been pressured into taking a contract. CSB is located on the 2nd level of the beacon hill athletic club in the north station location. it's pretty rad because when you join CSB, you also have full access to the normal gym to do your thang if you're into it. the classes and trainers have been great. maybe it was just a vegas thing, but the people going to these gyms in vegas always seemed verrrrrry douchey and more concerned with looking "tough" rather than getting technique down and getting into better shape. i don't get the douche vibe at all here, the trainers are very real, and care about 2 things, your safety and getting your technique to improve. students alike have been very cool, there's a good mix of people just starting out, competition level students, and everything in between. everyone's eager to help, and no one makes you feel stupid or intimiated if you're just starting out or are new to one of the arts. i haven't had anything but good experiences here thus far, just wish they would add krav maga so i could try that too :)

Generally in Jiu Jitsu/MMA gyms you get a lot of attention in your first class and once you sign up you don't get anywhere near the attention they lead you on to receive. This was not the case here, from trial class to a year in, I've received the same attention, it's equally spread out consistently. The instructors are knowledgeable and kind, the training is hard but very welcoming to all. All of the instructors have competed professionally in their respective arts and have different styles of both martial arts. The gym is also an excellent marriage between a fight gym and a casual one, there is 0 pressure to compete but if you want to you, you will be supported 100%. All in all, if you want to get fit, learn how to defend yourself or compete in BJJ/MMA/Muay Thai, this is the gym to go to.

Then they moved up to the gym at MassArt - Sold. It. Out. and STILL had a huuuuuge line around the block. That was freakin awesome. I am still sad that "Bone Saw" cut her derby career short. She was kickass. (She just quit. Nothing tragic happened. That I know of.) The Nutcrackers are my girls (with a special place in my heart for a select few from the Cosmonaughties - Easy Bake Shovin' and Violet Rage). But my main girl has got to be Malicen Thunderland. Girl skates with HEART! You are guaranteed an awesome time at these bouts. Go! Support this local sports juggernaut while you can still afford their tickets! Player-owned and operated! These are no princesses and prima donnas. They get down and dirty. They're not afraid to fall on their asses. The bands are sometimes fun, too. And they have good raffles.
