We ate at Bolgen og Moi, which is located at the Norwegian Petroleum Museum on Stavanger's waterfront, although we did not visit the actual museum. It was a beautiful day in Stavanger and we sat outside to enjoy the view and the weather, after hours of sightseeing.
Our waiter was delightful and spoke perfect English. He was from Wisconsin- LOL! I tried one of the craft beers and my companion and I both ordered the fiskesuppe. We nibbled on bread while we waited for our food.
The fiskesuppe was kind of like clam chowder. It was loaded with all kinds of fish- salmon, white fish, shrimp, scallops, clams. The broth was creamy and buttery. It was very flavorful and filling.
As a person who does not like weird creepy food in foreign countries, this was an amazing experience! Norway is pretty expensive, by US standards, but this meal was definitely worth it! read more
