An absolutely perfect German Spa experience. This is my second trip to Bad Kreuznach, and both times I've stayed at the Furstenhof hotel, which is right next door to the Baderhaus. The hotel gives you a voucher for 10% off the admission fee of €31.00. I also rented a towel, robe, and shower shoes (which you keep for the next trip... however, I have plenty at home that I seem to never remember to pack).
Upon checking in, you are issued a wrist band with a Bluetooth chip, as is common in Germany and Scandinavian countries. This chip enables you to lock and unlock your locker and purchase items such as food, drink and spa services such as massages.
The facility is textile free, but most cover up with a towel or robe unless they are in the saunas or pools. The pool on the main floor has jets on shallow ledges where you can relax. Also, every 15 minutes, additional jets appear at the near end of the pool that creates an endless pool effect. You can swim against the current and yet stay stationary.
There are many dry saunas and wet steam baths. There are also ice baths and a cold salt room. On the roof, there is a heated salt water pool with jets, and outside loungers.
I had lunch in the restaurant, which was quite good. I had the salad with chicken, which also came with bread. You can view the menu on the restaurants separate site.
When in town, treat yourself to a visit to the Baderhaus. read more
