The owner was surprisingly rude throughout the process, which already set the tone, but the cake itself was even worse. The presentation was awful, truly nothing like what was promised. And unfortunately, it tasted exactly how it looked: dry, unbalanced, and just... yuk. For a custom order, the quality was beyond unacceptable. I expected care, flavor, and professionalism, and received none of the above. This review was necessary. I would not recommend this bakery for custom cakes. And the cost was over the top! $60. Smh! I wouldn't mind if it was worth it. Gina's Piece of Cake is my normal go to, but they weren't taking any more orders. Probably due to Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. Next time my alternative to Gina's would be Albertson's. This lady at Orcutt was beyond RUDE and just down right nasty! Absolutely pass her up! Yuk yuk yuk!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!…read more Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, Sweet Baking Co.! Where do I even begin? I'm new to town, and let's just say I have a bit of a sweet tooth. When I first arrived in Lompoc, I found a few places to grab dessert, but nothing really stood out--until I discovered Sweet Baking Co. The moment I walked in, I knew I had found my new favorite spot. While I'm living in this lovely little town, I can honestly say I'll be stopping by at least once a week! The desserts are incredible. Tiramisu cupcakes?! What?! I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Every single thing I've tried has been delicious. The frosting is perfectly balanced--not overly sweet--and the fillings are rich, flavorful, and absolutely amazing. You can tell that every item is made with care and creativity. The flavor combinations are unique, thoughtful, and beautifully executed. And then there are the drinks. Oh. My. Goodness. The Ube Horchata is one of the best specialty drinks I've ever had. It tastes every bit as amazing as it looks! What makes this place even more special, though, is the family behind it. They are some of the kindest people you could hope to meet. I work at a local Title I Special Education preschool, and they generously donated to our preschool graduation celebration. That meant so much to our students, families, and staff. It's rare to find a business that not only offers such a high-quality product but also genuinely gives back to its community. Sweet Baking Co. has earned a customer for life. Delicious treats, beautiful drinks, wonderful people, and a heart for the community--what more could you ask for? Thank you again! I'll be back in town in July, and you can bet I'll be stopping by. See you soon!

So, when faced with what I often feel is something that is too sweet I was a bit apprehensive. My wife had already had some of these cupcakes and she was trying hard for me to try them, especially since she knew I was not a fan. You have the back story. The rest of the story, I without hesitation would 1000% recommend Sweet Mimi's cupcakes to anyone. And I mean anyone. I have had Carmel Apple pie, lemon flavored, fireball flavored, Oreo, orange cream, Gluten Free chocolate with almond, blueberry and raspberry lemonade, red velvet, and some vanilla flavored. I loved them all. All of them are well decorated, great pricing, willing to accommodate dietary needs. Are you kidding a Gluten Free cupcake!! And it tasted great, and had I not been told after I ate it, I would have never known. The cupcake itself, is always moist, and I know this as I have had them three days after being fresh, and they are still good. Not over cooked, and therefore hard. If I had the money, I would bankroll this whole operation myself!!
