My air conditioner drain valve malfunctioned and the pan overflowed and ruined Sheetrock in my garage. I had Service-master come and they took down my wet Sheetrock and dried everything. I called Byrons and within 30 minutes, Byron came to my residence, gave me a very reasonable quote and had his crew at my residence within an hour. My toilet flush was not filling completely and kept leaking into the toilet. I searched for help here and Byron responded promptly and agreed to come and fix it at $150 including labor and parts and then applying a 10% discount so at a total price of $135. I shared a video of the problem with him so he could understand and he immediately said it looks like a toilet tank valve replacement is needed and he gave me a quote. Next morning he arrived 20 minutes late. That's okay. He took 4 hours to fix the toilet. Once when my husband was seeing what he was doing in there for so long as it shouldn't take that long as told by Byron himself. He opened the entire tank and put it down on the floor. Anyways, after continuous effort he finally took 4 hours and got done. He said I changed the whole kit so it should be more than $150 and it was somewhere $170 but we paid him $200 as he took his time. We did not even get the invoice but since he was putting the effort we wanted to go above and beyond. Few minutes after he left, the toilet tank started leaking. We called him and he said, I have another job I am gonna come back in 2-3 hrs and he did. He said he knew it would happen so he just needs to tighten the bolt and it would stop leaking. We were disappointed as we were unable to use the toilet and we already had inconvenience going on for a few days prior to this. He came and tightened the bolts and he said it's normal it happens but it should be fine now. Few minutes later, it started to leak again. We were so frustrated that he was unable to fix it. We called him and he said he knows why this is happening. He is gonna come over the following day. He never showed up. We were angry, sad and frustrated and so much inconvenienced by this whole experience. He never showed up the following day. We paid him more than he actually asked for and our problem was not fixed at all. Now we call a plumber and he said this is absolutely wrong..the replacement kit that has been put in the toilet tank is not what goes with this kind of tank and it's ruined your toilet. We had to get the whole toilet changed and paid $500 on top of what we paid to Byron.. We were so angry and wanted our money refunded. He didn't fix the problem, wasted so much of our time and money. We reached out.he said he will return the money once the invoices from past week are paid out. Two days went by and then entire week, he never refunded us our money and here we are at loss of $700 because of lack of skills and information on account of Byron. The plumber said he could have fixed it in 5 minutes in the first place and it would have saved us this much inconvenience and our money. He could have said in the first place if he did not have the expertise to fix it but kept trying and ruined it and never returned our money. I really want to be able to give Byron more stars but I paid for wallpaper to be applied to an accent wall & it fell off the wall the same night he applied it. I am having a hard time getting him to agree to a day to come re-do the project & meanwhile my wall looks terrible. It's streaky & missing chunks of paint from the adhesive he used and he didn't clean up around the outlet panel. I told him it's an eyesore but he still won't give me a date that he can fix it. I've already paid and now it looks like I am gonna have to pay someone else to fix my wall. He was also supposed to do a cement slab in my backyard, he dug the hole but won't give me a date when he can finish. He didn't clean up & there's a pile of mud sitting next to the hole he dug. With bad weather coming I really wanted this done before the hole he dug fills up with water and ice. Bryon is friendly but seems in over his head, I am not sure he knows how to complete the projects he starts. I was hoping to hire him for other projects but I need a handyman that can complete jobs professionally. read more
