I've always been suspicious of dental surgeries with inconspicuous entrances. I don't know about you, but if I'm having someone drilling my teeth I want a bright white, visable reception, comfy leather sofas and a goldfish in the waiting room.
What I don't want is a black door leading into a close, a buzzer with "Dentist" above it and a sign which almost looks handwritten explaining that this particular surgery opens late.
It was with some trepidation therefore that I pressed said buzzer while in midst of serious toothache recently and tentatively walked the stairs to an even less appealing front door.
But alas, looks can be deceiving. The interior of the Byres Road dental practice is slick and stylish. With large windows overlooking Byres Road, it's a nice place to wait for root canal and when the procedure took place it was quick, professional and efficient.
What may become an issue for the practice in future years is disabled access as, needless to say, such old fashioned closes were not designed with disabilities in mind.
Nevertheless, in terms of the service, this place is highly recommended. read more
