After years of using a private dentist (thank goodness for family health insurance), I recently switched over to this NHS dentist.
The Baillieston Dental Care practice is located inside the Baillieston Health Centre, one of the many amenities that the centre offers. They recently took on a new dentist and advertised to register new patients, so my parents and I signed up. Private care is just too expensive without insurance, and here the check-ups are free.
After my initial check-up, which didn't take long, they brought me back in for a scale and polish, x-rays, and a small filling. It cost £24 in total, which isn't bad at all. Since it's NHS, you can claim benefits and/or save money if you are under 19 and/or a full time student. Unfortunately I'm not part of that bracket, but I was surprised.
Since I've never had an NHS dentist before, I don't really have a point of reference with which to compare. It was quick, the staff are friendly, and overall I have no complaints. read more
