Apparently, if you miss an appointment it's company policy to place a "fine" on your account and not tell you it's there. Then, it's company policy to sit you in the dentist chair and explain in great detail on a 42" TV about "red flags" and "fines" in a very rude manner. Then, it's company policy to enforce to rudely delivered fine before any work is started, regardless of cost implications or how important is it for you that the work is completed, while you are sitting in the chair, making you uncomfortable before the drills and injections even start. DO YOU WANT AN ILL MANNERED, ABRASIVE, RUDE, SNEAKY, INSENSITIVE DENTIST INSIDE YOUR MOUTH WITH DRILLS, INJECTIONS, SCALPELS AND OTHER AGGRESSIVE LOOKING SURGICAL TOOLS?, THINK ABOUT IT. I WAS THERE TO REPLACE A FILLING I HAD FROM THIS DENTIST THAT FELL OUT. I was a customer of over 2 years and I find that loyalty was not returned with helpful service, add this to the fact that it's very difficult to get an appointment and they have no interest in keeping your custom you should look elsewhere.
