The woman at the front desk was acting very obviously fake nice to my husband and me. For what reason, I honestly have no clue. Not like we have some history, so the extra baggage was completely unnecessary. Her demeanor towards I'm guessing 'usual' customers was noticeably more normal and pleasant than to us. As if that wasn't enough, we went to some furniture boutiques at La Cantera afterwards and found some of the same items sold at this place but way cheaper. read more

I recently purchased a chair and ottoman from Tiffany the owner of Bygones. Best High end consgnment store in the city for quality merchandise. I was crazy about my purchase until the delivery came without my ottoman. At 6 pm I contacted Tiffany and explained the situation about an injured leg that has to be elevated at all times. Instead of blowing me of like 99% percent of stores, her family delivered my ottoman at 7:00 pm the family not the delivery staff. THAT IS REAL SERVICE, she gave up time with her family and children to to make a delivery that she could have blown off and told me to come by and pick it up tomorrow, the San Antonio way of business. I now have my incredible, beautiful, comfortable chair and ottoman. i have always received incredible service from both Tiffany and Yvonne my sales associate. They have the best furniture and accessories in the city, furniture that comes from the Dallas market because we do not have really any high end furniture stores. Those that have given them less than 5 stars have something wrong with them or underlying reason for their behavior. If you have never been there go and walk through some of the prettiest furniture in the city. if they are busy which is all the time they will get to you. The do not discriminate anyone, So take a break and visit one of San Antonio's treasures for over 30 years. read more

Although they do not carry chandeliers, they have a large assortment of bedroom furniture, dining sets, living room furniture, paintings, crystal, silver, mirrors, lamps and an endless assortment of ever changing high end home accents. read more

I have been shopping with Kay and Tiffany for years. I use consignment stores in other cities and this shop is easily one of the best I have ever done business with. They are very good at selecting and presenting the furniture. I had a terrible experience with Too Good to Be Threw, who stole my consignments and never paid me. Bygones is honest and competent. The prices are reasonable, and the merchandise is very good quality. I know that some of their competition is trying to give them a bad name. You can be sure that the bad reviews on other sites are malicious. I have done business withthem for over 12 years, furnished several houses out of this shop, and always depend on them to have what I need. We are currently working on my mother-in-law's house in Austin. There are no consignment stores of this quality there, so we are coming to Bygones for most of her pieces. read more

Make sure the store charges you the correct price that is on the ticket. My husband paid for an item not knowing he had overpaid for it. Unfortunately, I did not see the charge until two weeks later and we live out of town. When I called the store and spoke with Tiffany she asked if I had the ticket that was attached to the piece, I told her I had thrown it away. She stated she would not have priced that piece that low and the price that was charged was correct and nothing could be done. read more

I have traveled the world and have been in countless antique and consignment stores, but I have never seen anything comparable to Bygones. They have items that are simply one of a kind, with great price points to match. Every time I walk in the store, and it is often, I notice a huge turnover. That says something about the ownership and staff; they know what they are doing. Speaking of the staff, I have been an acquainted with Tiffany, Yvonne, and Armando for about three years. Both ladies have an eye for detail and truly understand the finesse of a conversation, particularly when the client does not really know what they are looking for, or how to make a piece fit/work. They will lead you in the right direction without following you around the store and constantly breathing over your shoulder, or making you feel pressured into buying something. Armando has delivered two large items for me with white glove service. You will not be disappointed with a visit to this store.
