However, it stopped working shortly after installation. I contacted Mr. Gipson again, and he had the gate opener replaced with another one without a cover. The original gate opener had a cover. It was not until 2 weeks ago when I had to try several times to open the gate with my remote that I began having problems. However it eventually opened, and I had no further problems with the gate opening until 2 weeks later when again I could not open the gate for approximately 45 minutes. I then left the gate open in order to get my car in and out. When I called Mr. Gipson on Tuesday, June 16th, he stated he would send his son out to check it. Later that day after I did not hear from his son nor Mr. Gipson, I again called Mr. Gipson to ask if his son had come out. Mr. Gipson stated his son had come out and determined I needed another motor, and he stated his son had gone to Walmart to get one. I never saw or heard from his son. The next day I called Mr. Gipson with no response. However, I left him a message that I had not seen or heard from his son. On Friday, the 19th, I called Mr. Gipson again with no response. Each time I called, I left my name and phone number for Mr. Gipson to return my call with no response. I never saw or heard from the son or Mr. Gipson after that last phone call on June 19th, and my motor has not been changed. Each time I tried contacting Mr. Gipson, I got his voicemail and left him a message advising I had not seen his son, and my gate was still not working. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

We contacted Charles when we lived in Florida about a house we were buying and we needed a fence…read more Our fence had to be tall enough for a Husky/pit mix to not jump. My husband met with him and told him we needed it to be started the day we closed on our house. He was 2 weeks late starting. A 50% deposit was given atleast 2 weeks prior to us closing on our house. He seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. On top of our text messages and phone calls. It took him about 3 weeks to do a roughly 2 to 3 day job. Charles also charged us an additional fee because he didnt order enough material. It turned out great until the boards started popping off. He came out once to fix our gate because it broke the first time we tried to open it. Since then, we have made several texts messages and phone calls asking him to come fix the popped off boards. He kept saying he would be here and to this day has not shown up. My husband even called him and Charles said he would be by at 9am Sunday and guess what...he never showed up today. No phone no text message. So here we are with a fence with popped off boards. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM WHAT SO EVER!

However, due to…read morethe insulation black butyl tape they installed around each window, some of the seals have failed and there is what I believe to be butyl oozing growing between the double panes, making my once pristine doors unsightly. Upon googling this product, it states, "The main disadvantages of butyl tape are heat sensitivity, weak chemical resistance, and a lack of structural rigidity. Kejian Polymer Materials (Shanghai) Co.,Ltd +2 Temperature and Weather Limits Melting in high heat: Extreme or prolonged heat can make the tape overly soft, causing it to ooze, bleed, or lose its grip. Stiffening in the cold: Freezing temperatures make the tape stiff and hard to apply or shape correctly. UV degradation: Unprotected tape can break down over time when exposed to constant sunlight." This is a professional company and I would expect that they use appropriate materials that would be trouble free in all weather conditions for far more than 15 years. The owner, J. K. Jones quoted me $55. per replacement window (of which I have 8, so far, out of 54) and I'd have to hire someone to install the replacements locally, furthering my expenditure. And that's without knowing if they still use the same butyl tape that failed. Even though the doors never encounter rain and are mostly protected from the sun, as they are covered by substantial eaves, Mr. Jones is sticking to his 2 year warranty when it was Doors by Decora's choice to use a product which is inappropriate in all weather conditions, for which they take no responsibility.
