But Lassiter Excavation was so good that I couldn't continue to be lazy.  For context, I was replacing an old 35,000-gallon swimming pool with a skinnier lap pool. Lassiter started by completely removing the massive 1975 pool, including every scrap of concrete and piping.  Then they backfilled and compacted. Working to my soils engineer's specifications, they imported and compacted 18 truckloads of quarry fines in carefully controlled 8-inch lifts through the full 12-foot depth of the deep end, all the way to finished grade. They used multiple pieces of equipment, including jumping jacks, a Bobcat, and a vibratory sheepsfoot roller (which I had to look up), and they coordinated compaction testing throughout the process.  When they were done, it looked like a pool had never been there. The site was fully prepared for the new excavation, which Lassiter then completed flawlessly.  I measured their forms with a laser level and laser tape measure, and length, width, diagonals, position and elevations were all within 1/8 inch. That's impressive considering the new lap pool is nearly 60 feet long. When they were finished digging, the walls and floor were razor straight and right on their marks. The crews were outstanding -- friendly, hardworking, detail-oriented, and consistently professional. They maintained an exceptionally clean jobsite throughout the project and even helped me reclaim some old redwood decking.  Special thanks to Santana, Ricardo, Daniel, Jose and team for answering all my questions and caring so much about the end result. Then they told us that they were going to have to haul the concrete away so it would be a small additional cost......that turned out to be another $2500 we did not expect. They completely destroyed my planter box, which they promised to fix and did not AND broke a water line that I warned them was there to water said planter box (without telling us of course). Finally they demolished my front fence and gate and claim that's not their responsibility to restore either. So our $10K demo is now costing us closer to $20K with sneaky fees and repairs. I'm going to have to pay for somebody to come fix my fence now. Also they made a terrible mess we had rocks in between our two driveways they had mud everywhere then they went and put some rocks back that were completely white when we had gray rocks to start off with. Due to the difficulty and risk involved for excavation, it was hard to find a contractor to take on the job but from my initial consult with Victor, him and his team noted their experience with these scenarios and he was confident they can do it in less than a day. On excavation day they brought the necessary equipment and tools and were very cautious about the gas pipe. They ended up finishing the job in less than a half day! To follow up, we realized we needed more excavation at the apron of the driveway and Victor again came to the rescue and excavated that for us a week later. From the beginning, JR was responsive and transparent. His quote was clear and fair, and we were very happy with his communication throughout the project. His crew was equally impressive: respectful, efficient, and professional, and they cleaned up the site every single day. We were working under a tight timeline, and PCR completed the job perfectly on time, which feels incredibly rare these days, especially considering we slightly expanded the scope of the fence project mid-way through. What really set them apart was how thoughtful and empathetic they were, taking care to work around an old, special tree to make sure it stayed healthy, and going above and beyond on small details like using extra wood and concrete to patch areas that needed it around the yard. One note though: if there are any plants you want to preserve, make sure to point them out so they know to work around them. Luckily I wasn't attached to any of my plants (except the tree) since many of them were destroyed this process. We were also very impressed with how the team handled feedback. They…read moredid the original work about 15 years ago and we've had them back twice since then to freshen it up and fix some spots. We took out our diving board and slide into the pool this year which left some large divets in the pavement. They fixed them and refreshed the entire surface. Orlando was great, staying in touch and Jesus and company worked really hard to get the job done. It's a very labor intensive process and they work diligently to complete the job. Job was completed in 6-1/2 days AND they helped put all the furniture and plants back out. Very happy customers.

We just had our entire front driveway and walkways redone by Liquid Coating Designs of Pleasanton…read more Our original walkway was an uneven aggregate and not properly sloped in places. The large 3 car driveway was a different concrete surface. Charlie, the owner, met with us to show us examples and options for a cohesive finish over all the surfaces with the look of custom stone blocks that didn't require any tear out. Once we agreed to proceed they started by making us a very large sample board customized to the style and color scheme we agreed to. I admit I asked for a few adjustments to color on the board and they were very accommodating. Once we were happy with the board they knew exactly how to proceed to give us what we wanted. The final product exceeded all our expectations. It looks amazing and keeping it clean has been easy, such as the ability to spray with water to get the bird droppings off. We were also very impressed with the crew, who were professional, pleasant and very hard workers. Diego (crew chief) and Gerardo started early and worked full days non stop until the job was done to perfection. They managed to work around cold weather and even a few rain days. The Project Manager, Orlando, checked with us daily to explain what to expect and address any questions. The site was always kept clean and orderly with regular drop offs of material and pickup of debris by Ches. We had many people walk by asking about the process and amazed that no tear out was needed. Our neighbors are impressed with the final product and we highly recommend Liquid Coating Designs to them and anyone else. We are including some before and after pics to show the transformation a bit. It is truly a work of art! It's all hand tooled and colored with NO stamping.
