I honestly feel that having an array of different counselors is not a bad thing. I have learned a lot of coping skills from each one, and I take the best advice and other tools from each counselor and I continue to use those coping skills & advice in my everyday life. I have had a few negative experiences BUT all the good and positive experiences outweigh the handful of negative experiences. They have always worked with me and went above and beyond my expectations for my personal growth and success. The office personnel are always extremely professional,friendly and they know you when you come in to check in to get medication. There rules are there rules and every clinic has different rules, also to me it is what it is. In ant situation in life you have to look at the good and the bad and if the good outweighs the bad then you have your answer. This clinic not only changed my life, I have come so far in my recovery and I personally don't give myself the credit that I deserve, but the staff there and my counselor continue to tell me and remind me how far I have come in my personal recovery journey. We all know the saying "Things have to get worse before they get better", and they did. At the beginning of January he moved out of our home to move in with his mistress. I continued working the program, wrote and re-wrote my marriage mission statement and read it twice a day, I spoke with one of the Marriage Fitness counselors several times. The program became my bible and on January 28th my husband came home having ended the affair. Even though my son and his father do not have a relationship, it is with many hours and counseling that I can proudly say my son is now an adult (10 years later) who is well adjusted and finished HS top of his class and the State of Maryland. There were days when I felt like I was not understood and I didn't want to do the things our counselor told me to do, but ultimately I listened. I found out that I was the one who didn't understand and couldn't see that NFRC knew exactly what they were doing. I'm grateful now for their patience with my family and for always being there for my son. I have referred them to everyone I know who is going though a divorce in the area. I can say from this experience that no one can be made to do anything - wanting to self reflect/change for the sake of a loved one has to be a choice and a priority.......you can only change yourself.
