Booking Carinvalè for our wedding was the absolute BEST decision we could have ever made!! Our venue had recommended BVTLive if we were interested in booking a band, so we watched one of their live showcases streamed live on YouTube. My husband and I enjoyed all of the bands that played, but one really stuck out to us, Carnivalè! We booked Carnivalè without even seeing them in person, that's how good they are! When we did attend a showcase in person a few weeks later, they exceeded our expectations and we started counting down the days until they would play at our wedding! Back2Life plays a wide range of music from Journey to Lizzo, to oldies, they do it all! They met with us a few times before our wedding and even learned to play our first dance songs. BVTLive! helped make my wedding day so special. We knew we wanted a DJ for our wedding, and once we learned about their DJ Fusion options we were sold. With the help of Nils and the team, we chose Double Down, and they did not disappoint. I have received so many compliments on the music and the fun addition of having the live drums. We were on the dance floor all night long. We also rented our photobooth through BVT and everyone LOVED it. DJ Patrick Ryan ran the booth all night and was a pleasure to work with. From start to finish, the Strangers Band was such an amazing group to work with. Prior to our wedding, my husband and I had an hour skype meeting with Denny and Rick to discuss song selections, wedding party pronunciations, flow of the day, etc. which was extremely helpful. They were so friendly and knowledgeable and really helped us envision how the day would be. They were really open to suggestions too and customizations to ensure everything was perfect. The ceremony and cocktail music was elegant and really helped set the tone for the day. Then the full band came into action for the start of the reception and truly brought such amazing energy and vibe to the reception hall! I think everyone was eager to finish their dinner so we could start the full dance set. Once the full dance set began, barely anyone stayed in their seats! The band played such amazing songs that were appropriate for all audiences and kept the dance floor packed all night. Some friends I had never seen dance before were letting lose! At one point my father-in-law got on the microphone for a cameo performance which was so fun! Truly no one wanted the night to end since we were all having such an amazing time! Following our wedding, every guest I talked to said it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to, mostly because the band was so amazing! Numerous people said it was the best band they've ever listened to and raved about how talented the group was. It definitely was a major stand out element that set our wedding apart from others. The drummer even went above and beyond to mail us drumsticks and drum covers because he heard my uncle was asking for the sticks at the end of the night - such an amazing act of thoughtfulness! Not an ideal experience. I suggest you keep looking for the best DJ that is aligned with a customer friendly business model. BVT has good DJ's but all the good they do is overshadowed by inflexible policies and book keeping. They refuse to take credit cards bc they are charged a few % points by the credit card companies. So, bc of that and bad book keeping, we had a few issues that really ruined the otherwise positive experience. When you get an email 2 months after your event that charges are outstanding (and they are - and deserve to be paid), it really soured the experience. All bc of credit card policies... There are plenty of good DJ in the Philly area. Work with someone that works with you. KEEP LOOKING!!!! read more

We booked Midnight Hour for our wedding and I'm very disappointed. Let me start with the good, because there was good. The guitarist for our ceremony was an absolute gem, highly recommend, the band is skilled at playing, and they did a wonderful job on our first dance song. There were a few red flags leading up to the ceremony... you have to have a call one month out to review your playlist and we got stood up that night. I figured it was just an emergency. But when we spoke to the band leader the next night to tell him our "five picks," he said, "oh, we don't really do that." I was shocked - that was the reason we chose the band. At the showcase for the sales pitch, they said, "we do something special, we learn five songs for you." We brought this up and he said, "ok, we'll learn three." I said one was super important, but at our wedding they had not learned ANY. We got swindled. At least they had a DJ play two of them (possibly three, it was hard to hear). Also on the call, it turns out they can't play songs all on their website ("it's outdated, our band doesn't really know all that stuff,") so we couldn't have some songs we wanted. The reason my wedding music was ruined is because, not only did they go off the playlist - which we said on the call was NOT OK in any way - they played the MAJORITY of the music off the playlist... and then went ahead to play songs we had on our DO NOT playlist. I did not hear the lovely folksy songs I hired them for. Our elegant affair turned into tacky line dancing (an ABSOLUTE NO-NO on our call), music we hate and said do not play (cheesy, overplayed wedding music that sucks) and things that were not discussed/not on their site, but obviously NOT OK for our type of wedding - e.g, What Does the Fox Say. My fiancé asked the band twice to please stop doing this and play our playlist. They either ignored him or said, "oh, yeah, sorry, sorry, we'll get on that," played one song and went back to whatever they wanted. My guests saw how upset we were and tried shouting from the dance floor, "play the playlist," and calling out songs from it. But the band didn't care - they were doing what they wanted, period. It was like I was at someone else's wedding. The guests made the best of it. Drunk and happy, they were going to dance no matter what, and as I said they're good musicians, but it was music we hate & ruined our fun. I heard this is common - the bands really only know a few songs so they play them over and over, but if I had known about the bait-and-switch, I wouldn't have chosen them. I'm hoping we get at least a partial refund. read more

Having Strangers play at our wedding reception at The Desmond Hotel in May 2021 was one of the best decisions my husband and I made in our wedding planning process! It was important to us to have live music at our wedding, as we both come from musical backgrounds. We couldn't have picked a more perfect band! We received so many compliments from our guests about how amazing the music was and how much it contributed to guest experience and the overall atmosphere of the reception. From the minute they started playing at our reception we looked around at our friends (most of whom are also in the entertainment industry) and their jaws were on the floor. Not only is every single member of this 9 piece band an unbelievable musician, but they play together tighter than U2 on their last tour. They also know exactly how best to pace your evening, and please trust them when they say they know what songs or medleys work best to keep the energy going and get more of your friends and family out on the dance floor. We also were so floored that they took the time to meet with us in person before the wedding to get a feel for us, talk through any significant songs choices for your ceremony, first dance, parent dances and they were incredibly accommodating with our somewhat unusual requests. We had a magic illusion instead of a traditional introduction and they completely down to help us stage it, sell the moment by letting us take over their microphones, and then punctuate it with a rendition of "Magic Carpet Ride." If that wasn't enough, they also knew I was a huge, huge, huge fan of the band Barenaked Ladies and they played my favorite version of one of their songs just for me and CRUSHED it. We lost count of how many people during the wedding and the next day at brunch asked if we were old friends with the band because they seemed to have such a real, deep connection with us and totally get our pretty unique vision and vibe. As a performer myself, I was utterly impressed with the talent, professionalism, expertise and STAMINA of this band. They got *everyone*  (yes, even that cynical, hipster cousin)  out to the dance floor to dance as if their life depended on it.  If you're also averse to cheesy and cliche wedding bands then Back2Life is the right band for you. 100% pure talent and a true personal touch. I hired BVT over a year ago, and chose Big Ric to play at my daughter's wedding. THE BEST of THE BEST, is all I can say.. Everything about this band is perfection,, Big Ric is as good as it gets. His band is perfect. He is a true entertainer. His voice is smooth as silk, .He can sing every type of music, and he has complete control of the crowd. Our wedding was a Jewish, traditional wedding, - he knew every song, every ritual and how to he incorporated everything with complete accuracy. I've been in the wedding business in one fashion or another for the better part of two decades and BVT is probably the best band I've ever seen. I've seen them live several times and they rock. I'm always amazed at the range they have, performing pop and modern songs that you wouldn't expect a big band to be able to handle. City Rhythm is incredible! My husband and I have always talked about how we wanted our wedding to be full of dancing, great music and happiness created by a live band - this was probably the most important thing to us! City Rhythm did not disappoint. They were easy to communicate with and available whenever we had questions. We hired Jellyroll to play our wedding reception after a recommendation from a friend. If you are planning a wedding, do yourself a favor and hire them immediately! Founder and band leader Kurt Titchenell was very receptive to our requests during the months leading up to the big day, and Jellyroll's performance that evening was phenomenal. They are very professional in the pre Wedding planning, making sure that your night runs smoothly with intoductions, dance choices and music selections.
