I live different months in MN & PA states & here, using the Y pool swim to ease joints/back issues…read more This is no doubt the best Y w/its clean, modern locker/shower facilities, kid's pool with slides. But, there's only one 4 lanes lap pool so I have no idea why they had to "rest/close" the pool from 1-4pm weekdays. In both MN & PA, lap pool is opened all day 5:15am-8pm weekdays. If lap pool was used for swim team or life guard training, they'd open the kid's pool for lap swim. In Philly, there is one pool with no kids' pool. So certain hours, 2-3 lanes of pool are reserved for kids lesson/ fam swim, leaving 2 lanes for lap swim. But the pool is in use fr 5:15 till closing at 8 weekdays or 6/ 4pm weekends, except for Friday 2.5 hrs of pool cleaning. They tried to maximize the pool's usage to benefit members. Why such a waste of resources here in Avon, IN? I saw that the staff were just hanging out, doing nothing near the pool while members were not allowed 1-4pm to use the pool nor the sauna. It would be the best time for some ppl to swim/sauna in these 3 wasted hours. I hope that the management of Hendricks Y will reconsider their pool hours and not waste such a wonderful resource for its community. I will upgrade this to a 5 star if this is changed for the better (or even 6; ).

Still love this gym and facility- people are more respectful and there is more of a family feel vs…read moreyour typical gym. All new weight equipment and benches racks added just before covid. There are more cleaning stations now, and special days with hourly windows where masks are required for those who may have immune issues or feel more comfortable with all wearing masks. There's also a new free phone app for reserving classes or a lane in the pool. Membership $ is also so reasonable. Thank you YMCA!

This business is now the Weston School. I thought long and hard about posting this review and since…read moreit has to do with my son, I chose to go ahead and leave one. I'll start with the positives- the staff and teachers were nice. The updates through the app were great (when they actually posted them). The prices are affordable. Now on the other hand- the communication in this school is terrible. They don't respond to messages you send via the app and the director takes days if not a second email to respond back. We weren't even told that one of my sons favorite teachers was leaving either. And then on his last day, his current teacher had no idea that we were even removing him. Now onto the food. They do not track eating habits accurately at all. I don't know how many times it would show that he had ate ALL of his food and it was a food he never even had before. And granted, my son is a picky eater.. But don't lie about him eating! He came home starving 90% of the time and it was never communicated that he wasn't eating much. They say they send updates on progress, pictures, and of course their eating habits, but this was far and few between when they were posted, other than the "ate all" of lunch or snack posts. We got the most updates we've ever received on our very last day. Hopefully someone new came in and will do a better job than they've been doing the last few months. I am not one to leave bad reviews but I felt other parents needed to know my experience before they decided to enroll their child here.

Read Me if Considering this School!!…read more I write today to share our experience with ABCs and 123s now doing business as The Weston School. When we first toured the facility we found the staff friendly and welcoming, the only catch I was apprehensive about was we were offered a small discount in exchange for a 5 star review. The menu they offer the children is ridiculous, I don't know how many times I saw from their app my child was being fed things most adults wouldn't eat on a daily basis (hard boiled eggs, baked beans, egg patty) . Often I would pick up a child who was clearly hungry because she's picky. I understand they're trying to provide a healthy meal but I would rather her eat. Security isn't taken very seriously, I cannot count the number of times parents have tried to follow me in without signing into the computer system that opens the door or parents just holding the door for anyone to walk in behind them. The staff while generally friendly seems to change often, I can't count how many "directors" they've had. Parents without proper placards and Staff parking in handicap spots that is never enforced. I've watched people with actual placards have to wait for parents who have no business parking in them to clear the spot. However the real issue comes at the end. With very little warning, they decided to stop driving the bus route to take our daughter to school (a school that if you check the list of schools they service is still listed). They claim a lack of staff caused this as well as our child being the only one attending that kindergarten school, however other schools are still serviced. ZERO attempts were made to help keep us as clients. It was just sorry but we're not going to drive to your child's school anymore so we're dropping you completely, with little warning. My advise is look into other schools. I know that finding child care is difficult however I'm sure that better options can be found as this provider will have no loyalty to you and will drop you with no warning.

I've been taking my child here for a year. I am 100% comfortable and able to focus on work because…read moreI know she is being taken care of. She is so happy to go to school in the morning runs in to say hello to everyone. They are always working on different projects and she learned so much! Her hand eye coordination is really advanced for her age and I'm sure it's due in large part to all the attention she gets at school. I also enjoy that they have a no screens policy. Of course at times there have been little issues like she had been bitten by a child and then another time she was the biter (while in the 12 month class). Both scenarios were handled very professionally. Whenever there is a concern about my child, they bring it up even though I'm sure it must be difficult at times. I definitely appreciate the input because they know what milestones etc. to look for. It's also great because she has really healthy attachments with her teachers and the staff. Many of them have been there the entire time she's been going there and you can tell they are excited to see her grow! Robert has been very professional and compassionate in all of my dealings with him. I highly recommend the Goddard school!

I cannot say enough great things about Goddard in Avon! My son is currently in the turtles…read moreclassroom and has been attending Goddard since January of 2023 and we absolutely love it! His teachers Ms. Kaitlyn and Ms. Amber are amazing! They are very kind, attentive and caring towards all the kiddos. Even the other teachers in different classrooms know my son by his first name. Not only are the teachers hands on with learning and teaching my son, but the owners, Robert and Eileen are hands on as well and on site every day. They are wonderful at leading the school and take not only my son's welfare seriously but the welfare of every child that attends Goddard. I love that the school has different learning curriculums each day for the kiddos. My son has tremendously improved in his learning with not only all things preschool, but specifically in his communication and speech/language skills. When he started at Goddard in January of last year, my son was only speaking a couple words at a time and had a vocabulary of around 50 words. He is now speaking in sentences and his vocabulary is well over 200 words! Goddard also offers different activities at the school that parents have the choice to enroll their kids in such as Crouching Tigers martial arts and Soccer Shots just to name a couple. My son has enjoyed his Crouching Tigers class since May of last year! He has learned many different martial arts moves and can also count to 10 in Japanese! I have been extremely happy with our experience at Goddard in Avon and could not imagine my son going to school anywhere else. He is so excited each morning to go to school and see his friends and teachers! I know that when I drop my son off at school he will be safe and well-cared for. Those are the most important things to me as a parent and I wouldn't have him anywhere else. If you are in need of childcare and have not checked out this awesome school, I would definitely do so now!
