I was looking for someone that specialized in removing impacted wisdom teeth and this office was the top search. What I loved about my experience was everything was clearly explained throughout the entire process. Booking a consultation was seamless. The front desk staff clearly explained how their billing process worked prior to booking and they explain what to expect on the day of your appointment. My consultation and surgery was with Dr. Libunao. He was very professional and to the point. He clearly explained my treatment plan, potential risk/what to expect after surgery. Day of surgery seemed really quick, all I remember is the first 10 mins of the appointment. If I recall the overall process was an hour. I also really like that their office provides you with the necessary prescriptions prior during your consultation. It really eases things post surgery. I said no I was told it would be under 3k total for everything and that was before what the insurance took out and they responded and called me a liar and stated they told me the ESTIMATED cost would be $3771.41!!! So you telling me you told me before you even looked at my tooth that the total would be $3771.41 thats really amazing that you had that number down to the cents! Wow! This is false!!! I had to go back in for a secondary infection a month after my wisdom teeth removal. the procedure was much more painful than I was expecting it to be and the process felt rushed. the nurse wasn't kind to me while I was having a panic attack. I was scared when I felt like I couldn't breathe and I told the nurse this, she tells me "if you weren't breathing you wouldn't be alive". After the procedure I was still having trouble breathing and calming down, when I asked for my boyfriend she told me she wouldn't let my boyfriend come in unless I calmed down. Thank you Dr.Ledger for checking in on me and being nice. For others with dental anxiety, you might want to look into some other options for care.

Because of that positive experience, I brought my 9-year old son in today to have a tooth removed. My son has some special needs - he has severe ADHD, a learning disability and intense anxiety about pain. During our consultation with Dr. Scherer last month, I informed him of this and explained that my son has anxiety and fear (somewhat disproportionate to a normal level) when it comes to pain. I said, he will be VERY afraid and wI'll likely cry. I asked Dr. Scherer what he could do to help alleviate the fear. Answer: a child's dose of Valium the night before and morning of, and either laughing gas or IV sedation. I assumed those would be coupled with some understanding and a little empathy and maybe compassion for a terrified CHILD. OMG!!!! NOTHING could be farther from that. Dr. Scherer showed no empathy or compassion. Basically, he scared my son even more by saying "We can either do this now, here - or in the hospital." He demonstrated no care or understanding that my son was terrified. In fact, Dr. Scherer's demeanor was brusque, curt and slightly aggressive. He was unkind in that he used my son's fear against him instead of found or saying ANYTHING to try to allay his fear... even a little. My son was being brave and 'keeping it together' until we were told that I wasn't allowed to go into the room to hold his hand. Per Dr. Scherer, APPARENTLY, having a parent in the room makes the situation worse. Ok, maybe. I'll never know. But, I never expected the callous, brusque manner of Dr. Scherer today. I don't understand why this "hard-a$$" approach was necessary or appropriate for a scared, terrified kid with cognitive challenges. Shame on you, Dr. Scherer.
