Incredible Experience -- Above and Beyond! Gwen Marlo…read morecatering was an absolute lifesaver for our wellness retreat. I hired Annamarie and Messe last minute after our original chef backed out just two weeks before the event. From the very first call, they were responsive, kind, and completely accommodating to our shifting needs--whether it was allergies, dietary preferences, or an ever-growing headcount. Annamarie is an absolute sweetheart, and her warmth was felt not just in her presence, but in the food she prepared. Her husband was equally lovely, and together they brought such a beautiful, heart-centered energy to the weekend. The food was fantastic--nourishing, delicious, and beautifully presented. Everyone at the retreat was raving about it! We were aiming for healthy meals that still felt indulgent and flavorful, and they delivered that in spades. I can't wait to work with them again in the future. Highly, highly recommend!

We hired Gwen Marlowe Food and Catering for our wedding day, and overall, they did a fantastic job…read more The food tasted amazing, and everything went smoothly thanks to their efforts. Here's our detailed review based on their food quality, presentation, performance, and customer service. Food: The food was very good and tasty. Every dish was flavorful and satisfying to me but others trying the food had their likes and dislikes. This was a refreshing surprise since wedding food can sometimes fall flat. With Gwen Marlowe's cooking, you're likely to get dishes that stand out in taste. Presentation: The buffet-style setup was beautifully arranged, with each dish served by the vendor team to ensure an elegant presentation. Most dishes looked fantastic, giving our guests a sense of a refined, well-presented meal. The salad presentation, though simpler, was still tasty and fresh, adding a nice touch to the spread. Performance: On our wedding day, the team was on top of everything, ensuring every guest was served promptly and helping set up the tables to look beautiful. We appreciated their professionalism and attention to detail, which helped make our reception feel special. It was also just nice having a caterer who was willing to provide the plates and silverware. Really good deal for that reason alone! Customer Service: While Anna, our contact with the company, was communicative and respectful, we slowly began to feel hesitant to ask for adjustments or additional tastings, as we sometimes got the impression our requests were becoming a burden. It just felt like the vibes were coming off as passive aggressive and we didn't understand why when we were willing to pay for more tastings. It's hard to understand why a food company would have difficulty wanting to serve sample tastings of their dishes especially when they were being paid for. For example, when requesting if we could try out their vegan curry option in addition to their lasagna vegetarian option, we made efforts to make things easier for this vendor by suggesting we could just pick up the food in a take out box without needing a nice sit down experience to save them time (we only did this because Anne emailed us saying we couldn't book another tasting due to there being no time for them to set up another sit down tasting). In response, we got what we wanted but Anne charged us $50 a plate when typically they went for $30 a plate with a sit down experience. So just to get a chance to taste their veggie options we paid them $100 for 2 dishes. We know it takes time to get the ingredients to make these dishes but this shouldn't be an issue for a company that specializes in food. Customers will of course want to try out the different options so make that easier for them. A food company should not make their customers feel like they can't ask to try out food that will be served to hundreds of people! We also felt she didn't handle feedback as openly as we had hoped, occasionally giving the sense that we were the only people they've served who had problems with a dish. Additionally, there were a few instances when my mother, whom we had authorized to communicate with the Anne, felt overlooked. However, on the wedding day, everything we had requested was delivered beautifully, and our guests were thrilled with the food. Overall, Gwen Marlowe Food and Catering delivered a wonderful dining experience on our big day, with delicious food, thoughtful presentation, and a seamless performance. We just hope anyone booking them has a better experience with customer service as we unfortunately felt like a bother to this company. Thank you Gwen Marlowe for making our big day so special though

I have used Dad's tacos twice now & it was great both times!…read moreOnce for a baby shower & recently for my husband's 70th birthday party. Everything was great! The best thing about it is that I don't have to worry about the food! They arrive early, set-up nicely, are courteous to my guests, & my guests always comment on how good the food is! It's worry-free for me & I can enjoy the rest of my preparations. They even supply all of the plates & utensils. Afterwards, they package up all of the leftovers & you get to have it all! I asked Greg, last minute, to help me with my husband's birthday party, because I only had a small window of time to have the party. He was there for me & the party was a huge success! His pricing is SO affordable that you can just go for it!! I really appreciate Dad's Tacos & the fact that Greg & his staff have big hearts!! That means a lot. It's the whole package & vibe. Thank you Greg & Jessica for making my husband's 70th birthday party a wonderful, worry-free experience. It was great & memorable. :) :)

The food here was highly disappointing: watery, poorly prepared, and served late. The onsite…read moreservice was equally bad, because the server was cold, unapproachable, and demanding. Even though I was not personally involved in coordinating the event, she aggressively demanded that I bring her more plates. While a bad meal and poor onsite service are frustrating, the owner's behavior afterward was completely unacceptable. Our office works with at-risk populations helping the community. Following the service, the owner called our office representative and spent 15 minutes aggressively berating them. He is incredibly lucky that we choose not to publish the audio, as all of our office calls are recorded. The lack of professionalism and disrespect shown to people serving the community is shameful. Please avoid this place as you risk hostility from the owner and read the rest of the one-star reviews to get an understanding. Update: I was absolutely at the office event, which is why I witnessed the poor food quality and the server's hostile attitude firsthand. I am also an employee in this office, meaning I heard your aggressive 15-minute phone call to my colleague because it happened right next to my office. Also, you are confusing a standard plate count with micromanaging the physical plates. This was a taco service. Traditionally, caterers serve until the food runs out, yet your staff strictly rationed the actual paper plates. When your server ran out of plates, she aggressively demanded that I go find her more, rather than handling it professionally. Accusing every critical reviewer of 'lying' or 'not being there' is a pattern in your responses, but it does not change the facts. Your food was subpar, your onsite service was cold, and your post-event phone beratement was completely unprofessional and you should definitely apologize to our office admin. Potential clients should read your responses to see exactly how you treat customers.
