My Sister raved about this Bar great Cocktails ,live music, great atmosphere…read more Well I did not find any of these here, as we were entering the Bar some people were leaving and commented to us that we should turn around as it was not worth staying. My Neice had reserved a table and paid a £5.00 deposit for each of us when we arrived our table had been given to another party with the proviso that when we arrived they would vacate it but they had just bought a round of drinks it would be rude to oust people. We got another smaller booth and ordered some drinks, my Sister does not drink alcohol so asked for a Mocktail list, the Server told us that they do not have a Mocktail list but do any Cocktail without alcohol. We had ordered Ruby Ruby Ruby, it had Edinburgh Rhubarb & Ginger Gin, Rhubarb bitters & Victorian Lemonade over crushed ice, my Siste was handed a bottle of Victorian Lemonade no crushed ice no Rhubarb bitters that was our last drink there. On top of the fact no live music lots of Hen Parties shrieking in a very small place sorry Jam Jar you are not for me.

I LOVED the Jam Jar Bar! I had heard about this place and…read moretook the opportunity to go on Saturday night with the girls. It is next door to the True Pizza Company (same owners) and we went there for dinner first. Dundee is my home town and having not lived here for a few years, I was really pleased to see such a cool cosmopolitan place that Dundee has been crying out for. Table service makes it that wee bit special and the events manager asked us for feedback to see what we liked and wanted. They had a live band playing upstairs and they were really fantastic. The cocktail menu was really original and each time our drinks were brought to the table, there were squeaks of delight. Highly recommend this place.

I've been to this pub before a few times and it never fails to impress. It's not the prettiest pub,…read morethe interior is pretty old, the carpets have probably seen better days but you can't fault the service, food and value for money. The drinks selection is pretty good, but only two local ales. I wasn't here to drink so didn't check out the full selection. The menu is pretty extensive with about 4 pages of main courses, including about 8 different curries. The rest is typical pub food with a few Scottish themed dishes. I opted for sea food pasta which I've had before, it's £8.95 and more than worth it. Piled on top of spaghetti is a great selection of fish and shell fish. Giant prawns, big chunks of white fish, mussels, shrimps and calamari. It's all fresh, beautifully cooked and served in creamy white wine sauce. Others had burgers which were GIGANTIC, the kids meals were also all big and good quality. The chicken nuggets were real pieces of chicken. So it nearly gets top marks from me, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the food is great quality, reasonably priced and good portions. It's probably not somewhere I'd go to drink, but for lunch it's fantastic!

It has the feel of a real pub, not plastic, cosmtic nor overpriced. The staff were attentive, friendly and happy to oblige. The menu there is varied and well priced and the food freshly cooked. It comes out piping hot and is very tasty indeed. The only slight criticism is that the Guinness was slightly bitter as if the pipes could have done with a clean. Otherwise a great place for a drink and food.

I like Fat Sam's though not enough to give it multiple stars. Some times the crowd is rather disappointing in terms of just going out though and it costs nearly £5 to get here and back from St. Andrews so I don't like doing it all the time. I have to say though that it is nice for the gigs that I have been to here. It's smaller so you feel like you are literally right on top of the live preformance which I happen to really like. The Christmas party we had here was pretty ace though. We rented out the whole private section of Fat Sam's and it was fun. Every one was fairly pissed but Fat Sam's was pretty cool about it, though the drinks were rather hit or miss. It's suppose to be one of the busiest clubs in scotland but sometimes there are off nights as with any clubs. They are pretty student friendly which is nice and they have AMAZING FOAM Parties which don't happen all that often in the states. All in all not the same as some of the raging clubs I have been to in London but it tries hard and for that I give it 4 stars!

Massive queue for the cloakroom unfortunately & in general it looked a bit tired compared to the last time I was there, albeit that was at least 2 years ago. Also a complete nightmare at kicking out time with everyone trying to get into the one kebab shop beside the exit.
