I was referred to Burt by a friend. I had interviewed a few agents, but when I met Burt, he was really chill, honest, pleasant, and down to earth. He made a great first impression, and that really validated the referral. Everything went smoother than I expected. I kept waiting for "the other shoe to drop," but it never did. Burt laid out a clear timeline from the beginning, and everything followed it really well. He was extremely communicative throughout the entire process and kept me informed every step of the way. Because of that, there was no stress. He was always ahead of things, anticipating next steps and making sure I knew what was coming down the pike. Burt definitely exceeded my expectations. As a first-time home seller, I felt some stress at the beginning, but now I just feel relieved. Overall, it was a smooth experience, and I'm really happy with how everything turned out. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed working with Burt. As first time home buyers we were very nervous and overwhelmed especially hearing about how competitive the Peninsula market was. We came into the housing market without much information. Burt was extremely patient with us and walked us through the whole process. He always did his research and provided us with his honest opinions. Burt always made himself available whether it was showing us houses that worked with our busy schedules to answering our numerous questions over a call after work, we appreciated his flexibility. He helped us buy our first home and made the whole process as smooth as possible. We highly recommend Burt and look forward to working with him in the future! read more

We were introduced to Burt through a friend who had worked with him on a property in Foster City. We were immediately impressed with his deep understanding of the housing market from various different perspectives. He is extremely knowledgeable about different regions of the peninsula. He understood the different neighborhoods' history and trends, and was able to provide deep insight from a market value/investment perspective. He is also very knowledgeable about the properties themselves. He would always doing a very thorough check and patiently going through them with us, pointing out pitfalls and also areas of hidden potential. When we found a charming fixer-upper, he drew on his renovation experience to suggest upgrades that could maximize its value. On some other properties, he was quick to point out cheaper flooring or kitchen upgrades that would need replacing after not too long. He was always patient and attentive, listening carefully to our needs and tailoring his recommendations accordingly. Although we were browsing for properties online, the listings he showed us were always our favorites. We felt very assured in our time working with Burt. We did not end up buying a house with him because we decided to look in a different area for family reasons. Nevertheless, I would not hesitate to recommend him. Just during the few months we worked with him, we felt like we had learned so much. I highly recommend Burt for anyone looking for an exceptional real estate experience. read more

Burt is an amazing realtor and helped us buy our first house in Pacifica. He was thorough and patient about explaining how everything worked. He pointed out a lot of potential problems with houses that we looked at. He had great recommendations for other vendors, like inspectors and electricians, and made good guesses about how much different repairs would cost. He communicated with the sellers when we had questions about things like keys and landscaping. He gave good advice without rushing us into any decisions. He seemed to know the neighborhoods well. He helped us get a good price on our house. Throughout the process, he clearly had our best interests at heart. read more

Since Burt did such an exceptional job helping my wife and I purchase our first home, we did not hesitate to reach out to him when we were ready to sell our first home and buy our next home. Burt was always on top everything throughout the selling and buying process, and we never worried if things were being taken care on his end. He was always available to us when we reached out to him, and was very friendly, patient, and thorough when answering our questions. On top of Burt's expertise with the selling/buying process, he also offered valuable insight on the housing market and overall economic trends driving our decisions. We can't say enough great things about working with Burt, and would highly recommend him as your buying or selling agent. read more

We had the pleasure of working with Burt for our first home-buying experience, and we couldn't be happier. A couple friends referred me to him and said nice things about him, so we talked to him in late Sept of 2022, and then toured a house together. From the beginning, his knowledge of the market and the local area was truly impressive. As a first-time home buyer, we had a lot of questions and uncertainties, but he patiently guided us through every step. After that we decided to work with him. During house tours, he not only showed us properties but also educated us on what to look for, pointing out both positive and negative aspects of each house. This was incredibly valuable and helped us make informed decisions. He was transparent about all details and followed up promptly on any inquiries we had. His patience and easy-going demeanor made the entire process stress-free. He supported us throughout the journey, and his expertise led to an accurate estimate of the closing price. I can confidently recommend Burt to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, transparent, and supportive real estate professional who truly goes the extra mile for first-time buyers like us. read more

Burt was introduced to us by a friend a few years ago. He has been incredibly helpful in finding the house we have in mind in terms of price range, location etc. Burt is very knowledgable about the real estate market in Bay area and the macro-trends of economy in general. He helps us by analyzing what is the best option given all the constraints and our goal. He is super easy to work with, pays great attention to details and is always looking after our best interests. One recent instance was that some one made a fraud listing of our house. Burt alerted us about it and went after it to fix it for us. To me, this shows the great professional expertise and care he is providing to his clients. I highly recommend Burt to anyone who is looking for a great agent! read more

First let me say that Burt is a real professional!!! My sister and I couldn't have asked for a more suitable real estate agent to sell our late dad's house. He handled everything with impeccable professionalism. He kept both my sister and I up to date throughout the whole process of selling our dad's house. He went above and beyond with keeping us informed with all the changes that occurred throughout this process as well. I myself couldn't have asked for a better realtor to represent both my sister and I. Burt is a kind and compassionate individual that put our needs above all. It was a very emotional time for both my sister and I just being in the house we remember the most and Burt understood that and understood how emotionally charged we were and how we were feeling and we didn't feel pressured or hurried in any decisions that need to be made and if I had any questions I would call or text him and he was was very quick to respond to either my voicemail or text and he was very thorough with the answers I was looking for. We were fortunate enough to have Burt represent us. I really can't express my gratitude enough to Burt for making this process seamless & smooth. Great job Burt. Keep up the great work read more

We had a fantastic experience working with Burt. He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable about the market, and always available to answer our questions. We really value his in-depth knowledge of the San Mateo County. Our search focused on Milbrae, Burlingame and San Mateo. We were very impressed by his local knowledge of many neighborhoods in the area. Highly recommend! read more

We were introduced to Burt through our friends who had recently purchased their first home in Burlingame. They worked with Burt over a period of 4 years (!!) before they found the house that was right for them and what impressed us is that our friends never felt pressured by Burt to hurry their process. We worked with Burt for about 4 months before we found our home. We are first time home buyers and he was incredibly friendly, supportive, reliable, efficient, and professional. Burt is super self-aware and in his own introduction to us listed out his style/philosophy. At the core, he is excellent at spotting VALUE and tends to focus on things like resale value/upside and how much money a property may require to update/upgrade. He leaves the figuring out if you like the style/layout/feel/neighborhood (the things that are highly subjective and personal) up to you. He knows a lot about the different neighborhoods and highlighted for us the ones that young families tend to love. Importantly, he was very good about showing us only properties that fit our parameters. He never showed us things that were out of budget or too small. As we saw more properties and refined our criteria, the properties he found for us also evolved to fit our needs. He showed us properties in woodside, menlo park, redwood city, san mateo, san carlos and foster city. We settled into a pattern where we would see a bunch of listings with Burt and any house we really liked, we would arrange a second look with Burt and our parents. He was very good about navigating our family dynamic to make sure both we and our parents felt totally comfortable. We also felt he came through for us a couple of times that were really critical. One example, is we were given a 7 day contingency period and we wanted to find structural engineers to comment on the risk of landslide/ land shifting. He has so many local contacts that he was able to arrange this evaluation for us and a home inspection with Radon testing (which takes a full 48 hours) all within that short timeline. Perhaps most important, Burt made us feel safe. No question was too silly or small and no question was too big either! We will recommend Burt to any and all of our friends who are buying property in the area as a realtor who is kind, knowledgable, practical, efficient, down to earth and one who holds himself to the highest ethical standards. read more

Burt Tsuei - Receiving our new house keys from Burt! Woohoo! - Real Estate Agents Near Me - Burlingame, California

We were first time home buyers and Burt was recommended to us by a colleague. We were anxious and nervous going into the process of purchasing a new home. Burt was incredibly patient and helpful. He made sure to impart some of his vast trove of information on Bay area real estate to us along the way and it made us more confident in owning a home. He is kind and patient and very very reliable. No matter the time of day when we had questions about owning a home, he made sure to answer our call. He helped us strategize when multiple homes caught our interest and helped us find our perfect home. We cannot thank him enough, and we highly recommend that he be your realtor as well. read more

As first time home buyers, my fiance and I decided to enter into the housing market. We thought we had an idea of what we were looking for: budget, type of property, and location but really had little knowledge of the market or the process of purchasing. We found Burt via Yelp, read all the glowing reviews, and were impressed when we met him in person. He shared his knowledge, experience, and honesty, and always took the time to answer all questions or meet with us. Burt was no less than exceptional. His communication, patience, and professionalism never diminished even at times when we thought we were being annoying. He always had our best interest in mind and always listened to help us make good decisions. Burt has taught us so much and we are grateful to him for helping us land our first home. read more

We are so lucky to have found Burt to help us sell our condo in San Mateo! He gave us a few selling options and the one he helped us decide on happened exactly as he predicted. We are confident we maximized our returns because of his expertise. Not only did he go above and beyond to take care of everything (I was very pregnant when I started working with him and he helped me close a few days after I delivered my baby, all I needed to do was e-sign some documents), the entire process took less than two months. I have worked with a few agents and no one came close to Burt. read more

Burt is a phenomenal agent. I cannot say enough good things about Burt based on our experience working with him to purchase our first house! He is extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and thorough. He was a true partner in finding the right home for us and supported us through the entire process (which, in our case, lasted years through the pandemic). We reached out to Burt after reading all the positive reviews and knew right away after our first meeting that we wanted to work with him. He is not only very experienced and knowledgeable, but also very approachable and easy to talk to. As first-time home buyers and recent transplants to the Bay Area, we had a lot of questions about everything from neighborhoods to construction materials to the closing process/terminology. Burt was patient, responsive, and happy to share his expertise and candid opinions. Despite managing multiple clients, we always felt like a priority for Burt and never felt rushed into decisions. We looked forward to hearing Burt's analysis of the properties we viewed or considered, which helped us to better define what we thought we wanted or needed in a home. And during the loan application and closing, he checked in regularly to make sure we were hitting the necessary milestones, and reached out to various parties on our behalf to help facilitate and expedite the process. Burt consistently went above-and-beyond, and we are so grateful to have worked with him on purchasing our home! read more

Burt helped us purchase our first house in San Mateo.  We first met him when we visited an open house where Burt was working as a sell-side agent in the early phase of our house search.  We ended up not submitting an offer, but we really liked his clear, logical and persuasive explanation so we asked him if he would be our buy-side agent. It took us about 20 months to find our ideal house because our house search was suspended due to the pandemic in 2020.  During that time, Burt has always been kind, patient and professional.  He always gave us advice from multiple angles such as safety, resale value, resident's point of view, financer's point of view and market perspectives.  We learned so much about what to look out for, and we deepened our understanding of what we really wanted which was critical to make a fully informed decision. I understand that Burt takes a limited number of buy-side agent assignments, but if he is able to work with you, you are lucky.  We highly recommend him and we will definitely seek his support when we sell our house and/or buy one next time. read more

Working with Burt for my first home purchase was a great experience. Burt walked me though the details and coached me on my interactions with lenders. There was no pressure whatsoever and we took about 2.5 months start to finish. Burt was able to handle this for me during Covid! read more

Burt was so great to work with! From the initial phone inquiry to closing, Burt was always very cordial, courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. Very easy to work with. He was referred to us from another realtor from San Francisco who we value and respect a lot, so we are not shocked at how good Burt is. He helped us through a divorce sale which was tough to navigate. One party remained in the house making it difficult to show properly. It was one obstacle after another. I'm sure a lot of agents would have walked away from the deal, but Burt remained even keeled and communicated everything to both parties all the way through to the sale where everyone was happy. I would recommend Burt to anyone looking to list or buy a property in San Mateo County. read more

My husband and I met Burt when we started our search for a new Bay Area home. With over 20 years of City living, we admired many different areas surrounding San Francisco and were seriously considering the Pacifica area. Burt took the time to understand what we were looking for and strove to make sure we were familiar with all the various areas of Pacifica. As we toured homes, Burt has a great way of checking things out himself without immediate comment, listen to our thoughts and then pointing out areas and concerns we might have not been thinking about. He wasn't focusing on finding "a" house for us, it was always about finding the "right" house for our family. When we ultimately decided to stay in the City, we were confidant in that decision not because Burt failed to sell us on Pacifica, but because he took the time to make sure we really understood the difference between the locations, home styles, features and lifestyle throughout Pacifica as we compared it our experience in San Francisco. I would recommend Burt to anyone looking to purchase on the Peninsula, he will not disappoint! read more

Burt helped us buy our first house, and he was wonderful. He listened to what we were looking for, took us to homes that were a good match, guided us through every step of the process (and we were super clueless), was very patient as we went through the home tours with two young kids in tow...because of his help, we got the second house we bid on, and for *under* the asking price (unheard of for the bay area). We've been in the house for almost 5 years now and are super happy with it. Highly recommend him, and will be calling him up again should be ever decide to move! read more

Bottom line, we feel that we would not have sold our mom's house (after she passed away) without Burt Tsuei! When we decided to sell the house, Burt was the second agent we interviewed. We (four of us) knew within 10-15 minutes into his presentation that Burt was the one, and we signed the listing agreement. Burt was comprehensive in presenting us with the various options and values (as-is, minor repairs and deferred maintenance, or complete renovations) to sell the house. The property needed major renovations as nothing was done since it was built in the early 1980s. Burt was willing to coordinate any contractor work and had many helpful resources. When we decided to try to sell the house as-is as quickly as possible, Burt worked with us throughout the process from start to finish, handling any glitches and concerns we had along the way. He even took care of an estate sale and arranged for our house to be cleared out and cleaned. He actively contacted realtors that he thought might have promising clients, and met with prospects and realtors, actively followed up, and communicated beautifully with us. Even though it was a difficult time of year (right before the holidays) for selling, he found a great buyer for the property. We got a good price, and Burt worked with the escrow company and all other parties involved in the transaction. We were able to close escrow the day before Thanksgiving. We are very thankful to Burt and highly recommend him! We appreciate what a good listener he was, how he explained things, and how well he problem solved. We could not have had a better realtor. He met our needs perfectly! read more

My wife and I were in the market for our first home and Burt was so helpful in walking us through the entire process from beginning to end! We had no idea what we were doing, but with Burt's experience and patience, we made it through unscathed! We were pretty specific about the kind of place we wanted and Burt did a fantastic job in finding homes that he thought would fit our preference. It was a scary time for us both, but with Burt's help, we were confident that we had the best person on our side! Once we found our dream home, Burt walked us through the confusing paperwork and before we knew it, we were proud first time home owners. We highly recommend Burt as a realtor! A big "thank you" to the fellow Yelpers who took their time to write such glowing reviews for Burt Tsuei. We decided to meet with Burt based on your reviews. And so glad we did! Upon the first meeting, we knew that he was... the one. Months later, when we were finally ready to make the move, we hired Burt to assist with the selling of our old house and purchasing of our second home. As second time home buyers, I can't begin to tell you how grateful we were to have him on our side during the two transactions. To start, Burt paid us an initial visit and analyzed our house giving us suggestions to improve its appeal. We took his advice to heart and de-cluttered the heck out of it. Following the purge, we hired a contractor to paint the interior and exterior, which gave the house a facelift that was much needed. I then Yelped a decorator who did an excellent job of staging the place. (I'll review her in a separate entry.) The day after the house was staged, Burt came out with a photographer to capture the Pygmalionesque transformation on digital film. Burt did an incredible job of marketing our house. We had a double-sided COLOR flyer and an online virtual tour. We were thoroughly impressed with the results. Consequently, our house received not one, but two offers in less than a week; and sold by the end of the week. In the world of real estate, there are factors that you can control and those that you can't. The difference between Burt and other agents is that he didn't make promises that he couldn't keep. He never told us that our house would sell in a week for x amount. No one can predict that, especially in this climate - yet I personally know of two agents who have promised our friends just that; and both of their properties are still on the market... two months later, without an offer. We appreciated Burt's honesty, professionalism, intelligence, and level-headedness. As other reviewers have mentioned, he never pushed us into making a decision. He offered advice only when we asked and did not sway us into making a decision that we weren't completely happy with. He patiently dealt with my husband and me - often times separately because my husband was out of town a lot. And he never missed a beat, even while he was on vacation in Yellowstone. I could go on and on. But bottom line: "Burt is awesome!" was a mantra that we kept repeating to each other the entire time. read more

A little more than a year ago we started our house hunt with a different realtor. Without going into the gory details, we were pretty unhappy. We saw Burt's Yelp reviews, and they resonated with the type of experience we wanted to have. Yes! I want the guy that's in real estate because he actually enjoys it! Yes! I want the guy that wants to help folks have a positive experience buying real estate! (As altruistic as that sounds, it's true) Oh yeah, I definitely want the guy that understands the financial aspect inside and out, this is no second job, magician show, this is the real thing. And, can I please have a side of honesty and genuinely nice guy? You would get laughed out of town with most agents, but not Burt... Burt's knowledge about buying & selling homes definitely helped us wrap our heads around our first experience. I have an analysis paralysis habit, and Burt helped me push through all the "what ifs" and get to the "let's go!" stage. When we wanted to aggressively bid, he helped us get in there and do it right. We were so fortunate to find Burt as the perfect listing for us came on the market. We closed in just a little over a month. Which was a miracle with the combination of foreclosure property, FHA and the holidays. Hmm, did I say patient yet? I will admit to not being the easiest customer... and with the patience of a glacier Burt put up with my myriad of questions, phone calls, emails etc. There are too many things to list really, but I think the best synopsis is that Burt tailors his approach to your needs. He has that uncanny sense of knowing what you need before you do. If we should need to buy or sell again, we will be back! 3/16/2013 - I am sad to see my review filtered. It was my first review to post on Yelp, and maybe because it was nice instead of negative I got filtered. I am a real person who bought a real house in the Bay Area from Burt. read more

We just bought our first home in February with Burt as our real estate agent. We couldn't have been happier with him. The housing market was intense in the peninsula when we were buying and Burt really helped to guide us along the way. As first time home buyers, we really didn't know everything that actually went into buying a house. We didn't realize that there would be so many pages of documents to look through before even putting in an offer. Thankfully, Burt was there to explain everything to us. He showed us the things that were red flags about a house and the things that were more minor fixes. Because the market was so competitive, we consistently had to bid against more than 20 potential buyers. Burt really helped us with how much to bid and luckily we were able to buy our first home on only our 4th offer. Burt was great to work with. Here are a few of our favorite things about him: 1. We could call him at any time with a question and he never seemed to mind 2. He responds to emails quickly 3. We would ask him about a house we saw on our email alert and he would be able to show us the house that same day 4. He's never late (If he's 2 minutes late, he apologizes) 5. He's professional 6. He's always friendly with you but if any other agent or potential buyer is there then he's all business and fights to get you the best deal 7. He focuses on getting you a house that is also a great investment. Even if it means he earns less commission, he'll always have your best long-term interests in mind. If we were to ever buy a house again, we would for sure choose Burt. read more

After nearly a year of looking we finally closed on our first home thanks to Burt. On top of the crazy housing market, Burt was on the ball dealing with our short sale fiasco which took over 6 months to close. He always kept us in the loop on what was going on and was a great negotiator. We will definitely use him in the future when we move on to our next home. Three key qualities needed if you are looking for a Realtor: Patience - Burt took the time to explain all of the documents and the home buying process. He also took the time to explain the different strategies in the first offer and renegotiating process. Availability - We tried several Realtors and though some were top performers they were not always available because they had too many clients to manage. Make sure whoever you choose will be available to answer your questions. Burt typically responded within 24 hours or sooner. The poor guy even responded while he was in vacation in Hawaii! Detail-oriented - During the closing process Burt noticed several items that should not have been charged per the original purchase agreement put on by the escrow company. Needless to say this would have resulted in hundreds of dollars that would have been lost and if even more critical details were missed even thousands. read more

Burt is definitely not your average Realtor! As first time buyers, it took almost 2 years for us to close on our home - and through the whole process Burt remained engaged and enthusiastic. He was always on time to any planned meeting. Burt is also very responsive to emails - this sounds like a small thing, but it means I never had to follow up with phone calls which can sometimes be inconvenient in my line of work as I'm often in meetings during business hours. When it came to writing offers, Burt was very efficient and gave us great information so we could decide how high to go. In a competitive market it is very important to stick to facts and not let emotions take over. In summary, I would recommend Burt to any buyer and/or seller without hesitation. I truly believe he is the best in the industry. Keep up the great work Burt! read more

Burt helped me handle all the arrangements when my sister passed away and left a home to sell in Menlo Park. He handled all preparations including the estate sale, emptying the house, prepping the home with paint, etc., showing the property, collecting the offers and advising on the options. When I started to search for a home in the Burlingame, San Mateo, & Hillsborough area... I immediately searched Yelp for the best agent for the area. Burt's profile really stood out and the reviews were stellar; I immediately gave him a call and was immediately impressed by his professionalism. Several months later, I bought a new home in Burlingame with Burt's help. I would strongly recommend Burt to any of my friends and family without hesitation. To me, 3 things really stands out about Burt: 1. You can trust him. He unfailingly always gave me his honest opinion, even if it wasn't easy to hear. There were numerous opportunities where he could have given me advice to close a deal faster. He never took the easy way out, encouraging me to put in a lower offer when he felt that it made sense. 2. Super knowledgeable about the Burlingame, San Mateo, Millbrae, and Hillsborough areas. Every piece of his advice was consistent with other sources and what I observed myself. 3. Most professional and objective agent I have ever worked with (I've worked with a total of 4 now). Make sure you reach out to Burt when you're looking for a home in the mid-peninsula... you won't regret it. read more

My husband and I found Burt on Yelp. We were planning on selling our condo and wanted a good real estate agent. We decided to contact Burt because of his excellent reviews on Yelp. He met with us at our home and presented us with a book containing information about our condo and comparable properties that were either recently sold or on the market. After meeting with Burt and taking into account his professional presentation, we knew that we didn't need to look any further. My husband and I found a home in Southern California and gave Burt a call to see if we can do the open house a couple weeks earlier than we had planned. Although he was rushed in doing the open houses, he got us multiple offers within about a week. We were excited that we had gotten offers over list price and quickly went into contract. Unfortunately, our first buyer got cold feet and walked away from the contract. This didn't deter Burt. Knowing we were in contract with the house in Southern California, Burt acted quickly and got us a buyer within 3 days! Burt is very professional and friendly. He likes to negotiate the contracts to get the best deal for his client. Burt also liked to take care of things on his own before actually communicating/updating us, which helped save time. My husband and I put a lot of trust in Burt, and even though we wouldn't hear from him for a couple days, we were confident he was taking care of things in the background. He was always available via phone and email. My husband and I highly recommend Burt!!! read more

We have been working with Burt for 5 months and finally succeeded in buying a home we love. Burt has been everything that we could have asked for in a realtor. I would highly recommend him. We loved Burt for the following reasons: * Breadth and depth of knowledge. We were looking at a pretty wide area on the peninsula - from San Carlos/Belmont up to South San Francisco/San Bruno. Pick any neighborhood that Burt takes us to see a home in, he would be able to give us a ton of details - history of the neighborhood, typical floor plans/home sizes, school quality, pros/cons of the neighborhood, nearby neighborhoods, etc. He is very experienced and detailed oriented. When he sees a home with us, he would be able to quickly spot subtle issues like water damage, sloping, workmanship of remodeling, etc. From his extensive experience as a realtor as well as owner of investment property, he gladly offers advice on what repairs are urgent or not, what are the big ticket issues, and ball park figures for repairs/upgrades/remodels. * Professionalism and work ethic. Burt is very dedicated. He took us to see homes pretty much every weekend for a span of several months. He made himself available to us over phone/text/email for any questions that we had. When it came to making offers, he didn't just write up an offer and sit back. He always did the homework of talking to the seller agent multiple times before and after the offer deadline, in order to get us as much information as possible about the potential competition. Just as another example, one weekend Burt had a high fever, yet he still powered through as we asked him to submit a counter offer and subsequently do a cancellation of contract. * Trustworthiness. Last but not least, trustworthiness is probably Burt's biggest value. He was very transparent and objective in giving his opinions on things like issues with a home, the value of the home, market trends and potential bidding competition. With respect to the bidding, he did not pressure us at all. We had bid on somewhere between 5 and 10 homes in a short span of a couple of months and lost every time to higher bidders. Throughout that period, Burt never once pressured us to ratchet up our offers. He reiterated that we should bid whatever price we felt comfortable with. read more

Burt is amazing! We were very picky on the houses and Bay Area market is very tough. Burt has been always patient, responsive and he gave us lots of great advices on all the houses. I solely relied on Yelp reviews before first contacting Burt. It turned out to be a good idea. I sent an email from his website and the reply was prompt. He emailed me first and then called me in one day when the email went unanswered. We had a ten minute chat and in that time he answered all my questions. In fact, he gave a lot more information and also followed up on email. He knows what he is talking about and does not hesitate to tell you if something has its cons and you are only seeing the pros, probably. Overall, a positive experience that will make us go back to him when we plan to actually start looking for a house, next year. read more

We found Burt through Yelp and I would agree 100% with all the other great reviews. Throughout the past one and half year Burt worked with us showing us homes and writing a lot of offers for us. We were finally able to buy our home in the fall of last year. (Sorry Burt this review is long overdue!). From the very first meeting we were very impressed with his knowledge of the housing market in the area and professionalism. We have worked with a few realtors before but a lot of them are like sales guys trying to close the deal ASAP. Burt is exactly the opposite. Even when you like the house he will point out all the negatives (along with the positives) to make sure you are fully aware of what you are getting into. He is also very knowledgeable about remodeling and other construction projects. More importantly he would give us a ballpark of what it would cost to get the house fixed. On one occasion since he was not very sure about the costs, he brought in a contractor to get us a rough estimate. This was even before we had decided to put in the offer! He would encourage us to put in as many offers as possible, while never pressuring us to bid higher than we were comfortable with. A lot of times he knew we would not have much of a chance with the offer we made but he did not have any problems running with it and giving it his best shot! On several occasions he personally presented the offer to the seller when he could have just emailed it. He was also very responsive anytime we sent him a text or an email. And sometimes when we could not connect over the phone he would immediately call back. When he was away on vacation, he would make sure there was somebody filling in. For e.g. he worked with us on an offer barely 48 hrs after his daughter was born! On another instance, he was up until 12.30 AM writing an offer for us, and the next day instead of just sending the offer out, he confirmed with us to make sure we hadn't changed our minds! He thoroughly went over all the offers and confirmed with us every time before he was ready to send it out. He would give us an estimate of what the offer should be to at least get a counter. He always wanted to get us a good deal, even in this market. Even during and after close of escrow, Burt continued to help us by recommending property inspectors and contractors for home improvement projects etc. A realtor like Burt will be very hard to find and we could not recommend him enough. read more

We found Burt through one of our friends' recommendation. Choosing Burt was one of the best decisions we have ever made. I was amazed by Burt's knowledge, professionalism and negotiation skills. He is such a honest person. He is also very knowledgable regarding renovation so you will also get a better estimate on how much you will spend on fixing particular stuff. Within 3 months, Burt help us get a great deal! Buying a home in a hot market can be stressful. But Burt make the whole process less stressful and made us feel comfortable the whole time and you just feel like you could trust him 100%. If you seen this message, please don't hesitate to contact Burt. I am sure you won't regret. read more

As first time homebuyers, my fiancée and I had no idea what we were looking for in a good agent. Starting out with a different agent (who was, in short, quite underwhelming) really showed us what made Burt great at his craft. He's incredibly knowledgeable, patient, personable, and thoughtful. Perhaps most importantly, we trust his judgment. We also don't want to undersell just how relatable Burt is; after just a couple weekends spent touring open houses together, we felt like Burt understood what it was like to be in our shoes. We particularly appreciate Burt's patience with us - not only in his willingness to answer all of our newby and silly questions, but also in his genuine desire for us to find and focus on the best opportunities for us. He never once pressured us into pursuing any homes we might later regret and in fact gave us the advice we needed to realize why we should pass on some opportunities that initially looked enticing. Based on our overall experience with Burt, we would highly recommend him to anyone looking to buy a house in San Mateo County. We felt much more confident with him in our corner during our 3-month (ultimately successful) search (in a still-competitive seller's market) and relied on his guidance throughout the escrow process. read more

Burt helped us purchase our first home and we had a wonderful experience working with him. We reached out to him after reading all the positive reviews and knew right away after the initial phone interview that we wanted to work with him. He is not only very experienced and knowledgeable, but also very approachable and easy to talk to. Communication throughout the process was great, and we really appreciated his thorough and careful explanation to any questions we had. As first time home buyers and recent transplants to the area, we had a lot of questions about everything from neighborhoods to the process and terminologies. Burt was always patient, cheerful, and happy to share his expertise and candid opinion, and really helped to educate us. We always looked forward to hearing Burt's analysis of the properties we viewed or considered, which helped us to better define what we thought we wanted or needed in a home. Being new to the process, we had a lot of concerns about the timing and coordination of various moving parts and entities, not to mention the multitude of documents we had to review as we began the actual purchase of the home. Burt's guidance gave us confidence that everything was progressing as it should. During the loan application and closing when things were out of our control as well as out of Burt's court, he regularly called and emailed us at all the right times to check up on us, see how we're doing, make sure we were hitting the necessary milestones on our end, and reached out to various parties on our behalf to help facilitate and expedite the process. We are very glad to have worked with Burt and we highly recommend him. read more

Burt helped us bought our first home back in Feb. He was highly highly recommended by a friend. And our experience with Burt is the same as what my friend told me. He is super nice, patient, knowledgeable and considerate. Since it is our first home, Burt explains the process, the current market and all context in details and very clearly. He not only helped us analyze the situation of properties, but also gave us great insights about how the properties would appreciate in the long term. In addition to his familiarity of the neighborhoods and the field, Burt goes beyond what he need to do. After the whole process, whenever we have questions about tax, the house' situation or anything, Burt is still happy to help us. If anyone ask me to recommend an agent, I will definitely go with Burt with no hesitation! read more

Burt had helped me buy my first home a few years ago, which I later sold and more recently he helped me buy my second home. Working with Burt over the years, I have to say that he is very knowledgeable about the Peninsula neighborhoods and the housing market and he is a true professional. He has insight and advice about all the different neighborhoods here. And he is very responsive and reliable from the beginning of the process to the end (even afterwards when I ask him for referrals to get stuff at the home fixed). But on top of those qualities, the reason I went to Burt again for help on my second house and would recommend him to any of my friends is that he is very honest and patient. I always felt like Burt had my best interest in mind and he never pushed me to make a decision just to make a sale. The close process on my first house was a bit of a complicated ordeal and, Burt, despite technically being on leave due to having just had his first child, was there to help me every step of the way. He really had my back. When I was buying my second home, he patiently worked with me and the budget I had despite it being tight. After numerous rejected offers because of my budget, he was able to find me a great home in the area I wanted to be in, at the right price. I really could go on and on about what a stand up kind of guy Burt is. Buying a home in this crazy Bay Area market, you definitely want someone knowledgable and someone you can trust. Burt is that guy. read more
