Driving back to Phoenix Arizona from Nashville Tennessee we found the spot just off the freeway in…read moreForest city. What a perfect location for a real barbecue out of the city experience. Walking in to Delta Q the smell was so good like a fresh campfire wood like smell. We were greeted by a very kind and pleasant lady who sat us down offered us something to drink and explained the menu to us. I had The four meat combo and I have to say it was the best barbecue I have ever had and I have had a lot of BBQ in the Midwest and in the East Coast. The smoked pulled chicken was so good moist with the right amount of smokiness and sauce on it The pulled pork is probably the best pulled pork I have ever had The brisket OMG so moist and tender slid right down your throat The ribs when you don't need to use your hands and the meat just falls off the bone with the fork you know you're getting the best of the best The potato salad was made in-house and the most freshest potato salad ever I hope one day I can just make a trip out here just to eat barbecue it's well worth it to anyone traveling on interstate 40 who wants a really good meal with great friendly service this is definitely the spot

CASH ONLY BUSINESS I…read morewanted to try the food since I'm staying around the corner and it's the oldest African-American establishment (1910). I sniffed the air as I walked in trying to get a preview of what the food would be like. I was surprised that I didn't smell anything, not even when I walked inside. Mr. Jones appears to be an old school man focused on handling his business. There was no small talk, yet he exuded warmth. I ordered 2 sandwiches with slaw. They were prepped quickly. I walked the 7 minutes back home, excited to try the food. I was disappointed to see that there was no barbecue sauce. I guess it's more accurate to say I was disappointed that my expectations of seeing barbecue sauce covering the meat weren't met. I took a bite of the sandwich and it was ok. I wasn't impressed. I was still holding on to what I thought it should be like. The coleslaw elevated the taste. I went back to the diner a couple hours later and asked for sauce. He remembered me coming in. I didn't want the large bottle they sold and he found something to pour some in. BE AWARE, there may typically be a charge for a side of sauce, which is understandable to make business dollars stretch. I did not have to pay, thankfully since I don't carry cash. I was excited to pour the sauce all over the sandwich. The sauce is thin and tangy. It complements the slaw perfectly! I enjoyed the sandwich once I add the sauce. I can see why it gets rave reviews. There is indoor seating and memorabilia to peruse. I'm not sure if there are public restrooms or wifi. I love that there isn't a huge menu to choose from. You have two things to decide on: slaw and sauce. If you're a sauce person, REMEMBER to ask for it before you leave, as it is not on the sandwich. Which makes sense because it would make the bread soggy!

You can't beat $6 for a sandwich and a drink in 2026. The hours are a bit strange for a BBQ place,…read morebut if you are going to be in the area, it is worth stopping by. He is a nice old man and well known in the community and of course now is internet famous.

Stopped by for lunch on the way home from Hot Springs. This is only the second time we've had a…read morechance to stop, and like the first time, the food and service were excellent. You have to try the potato babies appetizer. It's $5.50 as I post this and you get A LOT of potato wedges. The server brought 2 cups of ranch because there were two of us there. That's a very subtle and very nice touch to customer service. The food was excellent of courses, as were the desserts. T had the first scoop of banana pudding for the day and I had the chocolate fries pie with ice cream. I'm only a little upset we didn't purchase one of the brownies or a slice of pecan pie they had sitting on the bar. Both looked really, really good.

The food was great overall- the ribs a little tough but nothing wrong per se. Catfish was…read moreincredible. Sweet potato fries amazing and loved the raw onion. The flaw? If it wasn't for the food, idk if I'd be back. Here on a Thursday at lunch. Empty parking lot, and I drive a Tesla so it was advertised to charge. An employee not driving an electric vehicle took up a spot- which can be frustrating if the entire parking lot has open spaces: Overall - servers are just rude. Just direct to the point, almost like you're an inconvenience. Additionally, two of them walked over to the pecan pie in the bar where I was sitting and grabbed one, laughed, went in the back and ate them. It felt like the employees were stealing it - Not 100a% sure but it felt weird. Then as they were in the back a line formed for to go orders and it felt like they were inconvenienced to ring up orders. Cash or card? Sides on bottom right. Yup whatcha want? No can't do that. It's an up charge. Cash or card! Hurry up (assumption). Maybe that's the culture so all good but perhaps a "hi how ya doing? What can I get ya?" I'll still be back but AI
