From these super economical finds, I was able to fabricate a garden gate, using the faucet as a creative spin on a traditional doorknob or latch. I love it. Recently, I eye spied, a partially used tub of tile adhesive and several random tiles. They'd be the perfect solution with someone with a tiny bathroom or counter top that needed sprucing up. You can find doors, windows, screen, light fixtures, tiles, wood, paint, and a whole host of parts that you can't pick up at any big box store. Think of the green project like a thrift store for your house or creative endeavor. Be patient and diligent, as it can be hit or miss.

The Green Project is essentially a graveyard of houses that have been sadly torn down and the remaining good parts salvaged which allows current homes to be repaired with the remains of destroyed ones. The biggest negative here is the sticker shock prices of many of the items as you are no longer getting good deals on many of the items which might have been much more possible right after Hurricane Katrina.

We went in on a Friday to the Showroom right as they were closing, and Anna allowed us to stay an extra hour longer while she was finalizing paperwork. Anna expertly answered our questions on customization, lead times, and design combinations for baseboards, casings, and crown molding. Anna even offered a venison treat to our dog too. As we were about to leave, our starter went out, and Frank and a few other gentlemen from the warehouse, who were getting off of work on a Friday, stayed late and helped to try to jump-start our vehicle and charge our battery before we could even put in a request for roadside assistance. We were waiting for the tow truck company, and it started to get dark; the owner, David, came out and asked if we were okay, asked if we needed to use the restroom, and ensured we felt safe. David even offered to stay late to guarantee we were not left alone at night. Millwork & Molding and Supply is in a safe location with a fantastic selection. We will be outfitting our downstairs from floor to ceiling with their molding for an elegant aesthetic, factors less than the run-of-the-mill stock at Home Depot or Lowe's. I priced out a few garden supplies only to find they were the same exact price as Lowe's right down the street. New or not, the items are not returnable so naturally I would choose the Lowe's option. I visit this store probably every 90 days and will find that a huge amount of items have been sitting at the same price tag for six months or more. Most of the larger furniture they take in is not in the best shape and priced over $150.00. This includes couches that have been torn up by cats and stained up. Still, I visit waiting for the occasional item that is just mysteriously priced very low. Be aware that they sometimes do have % off specials - but there's only one whiteboard at the front of the store by the cashier that indicates this.
