Also garden furniture, equipment and water features. I stocked my herb garden with plants from here last year and they thrived and have survived the winter to pop back up again looking as strong as ever. A lot of garden centres are more concerned with selling expensive ornaments and gifts than gardening supplies (I'm sure some of them would turn you away if you dared to turn up in wellies!) so this garden centre makes a nice change. Ample parking and a convenient location too.

Not sure what they do the rest of the year but this is the simplest, most organised christmas tree shopping I have ever done and I was well pleased with the product and the experience. You got 3 types of trees and 4 - 5 ranges of height, organised in rows. Bloody simple, and the trees look pretty good too. I don't know what are the prices but we paid £37 for a 5-6ft Nordman. Job done !

It's not over priced and a majority of items are very reasonable. This place has been revamped over the years but they still have a great little cafe at the back which offers some nice options. It does tend to get busy at the weekends so try and avoid the busiest eating times I tend to visit over Christmas as I find their Christmas offering to be one of the best in the area for both value and range of selection

Also all the supplies you'll need to set up and maintain your pond. They also supply tropical fish tanks and equipment but not tropical fish, or at least they didn't at my last visit. A good range of water features and ornaments will add the final flourish to your dream pond. There is a small plant section but it isn't a garden centre as such and doesn't supply the usual gardening sundries and equipment. A coffee shop completes the picture, a peaceful spot to pass half an hour while you ponder your pond possibilities :-)

However it is still predominantly a vegetable shop and although it now sells sausages and bacon it doesn't have an extensive butchery department like some farm shops. However what it does it does well. A good variety of veg, lots of it local including potatoes that still have some soil on, hurrah! They aren't slavish to the local theme though and also supply more exotic fruit and veg from further afield. They also supply chutneys, sweets, posh crisps, jams, pastas, rice, milk, cream, and the wonderful Cartmel sticky toffee pudding. There's a great selection of local Lancashire cheeses including Dewlay cheeses from just down the road and also good quality cheese from elsewhere in the world such as feta cheese and mozzarella. Along one wall there's a large selection of bird food and feeders which ties in with there being a small gardening section alongside the shop. All in all a great farm shop which offers fair value and a good variety of stock without erring too much towards garden centre style overpricing.
