I recently relocated to Terre Haute which is why I need a dentist, but I have spent the last 12 years in the dental field. I have never heard this rule before. On the bright side and the reason for the second star I have also never met a dentist willing to turn down thousands of dollars in cash, so you can probably trust them.

(plus I just didn't want to go) Dr Arnold's reviews were glowing, and even though my partner has a different dentist here in B-town, I decided to try Dr Arnold based on Yelp reviews. The office is a bit hard to find if you aren't familiar with the Eastside of town. It is sort of behind the now-closed Marsh store, in a mini mall next to a dance studio and a waxing salon. Plenty of parking in the lot. Courtney was my hygienist today and she was wonderful. She listened to my ramblings about how much I hate the dentist. She was mellow and I felt like she gave my teeth a very thorough cleaning. She was just the right combination of quiet and talkative during the cleaning. (my hygienist in California was very chatty and it's hard to answer questions with sharp instruments in your mouth). There is a tv on the ceiling so you can watch while you have your cleaning. Courtney caught on fast that the show on the History channel was about mass murderers (not a very calming show) and she switched the channel to ESPN for me. Next Dr Arnold (Bill) came in and introduced himself. He was great. Very down to earth and approachable. We chatted a bit about California and then he began his exam. Again, great exam and he gave me advice about some tooth sensitivity I have been experiencing. Next appointment is six months from now and even though I will still be freaked out, I won't be AS freaked out. Definitely recommend. If you have been putting off a dental exam, go see Dr Arnold.

So I called the office on Wednesday evening and spoke to a lady there. I told her that I had a…read moretooth about to fall out and hurt especially when I ate. She told methat there would be no dentist there on Thursday but that they coud get me in Friday morning if I could be there about 7:30am. when I showed up, I was the first there and had all the forms and insurance information with me. They took 3 people before me but no big deal. They even had a meeting but no problem. But when they did get me in the chair about 8:20, April took an xray and called Dr. Brooks in. He looked at the tooth and confirmed that it would be easy no trouble, that April would just get things ready and he would be back. April then said one of the ladies up front would come talk to me about the finances. When the lady shows up, she tells me that it cost $169 to remove the tooth, insurance would pay $119 but that I would have to pay $50 TODAY!! I told them I had not been to the dentist since leaving the military (1992) and was unaware that I had to pay today. The lady from the front said she would talk to the doctor, came back and said he told her I would have to pay. So what's a guy gonna do? I said that I didn't have that much with me and didn't know what I currently had in the bank. So, I can't get it done and nobody told me in the whole time I would need to "pay as I go" so I would just have to do it at home, risk what was to come but, before I left, the lady said that since I wasn't going to have the procedure, I had to pay for the xray which, wait for it....was $50!! I told her since I didn't have it, she was gonna have to call the police I guess cause I was leaving!!! Get this....she says "we will send you a bill and go from there".... I did mention I work for the government, have insurance, but it's the off-pay week?! So thanks to noone there, one less patient to worry about, and now we know why there is a fireplace and free k-kups! And if you look for less than 4 star reviews on his site...I found this at the bottom..."Your review may be shared publicly on the web"...MAY BE!!!
