Roberto was very responsive. We've called over 30 lawyers in central TX about our issues with our…read morecustom new home build. All of them kept telling us it'll take 24-48 hours and we'd wait and get no call backs. We'd even offer to pay for consultation services if we could just talk to someone to figure out what we should do. We were having issues with our GC and needed clarification and advice on what we needed to do to resolve our conflicts. Our GC demanded we pay extra costs on our new home build (which we've never talked about, nor agreed to). We're at the 95% finish rate. We've paid all our drawers on time and basically the exterior of the home is almost done, but the GC wants to charge us another $12,000 for labor and supply we've never talked about. Throwing out fees/dues right as we are literally at the end game! So much so that they're threatening us if we don't pay, they're walking off job! Pathetic and so unfair on so many levels! Although, I wasn't able to hire Roberto to work on my case, because after talking to him and explaining what had happened and the legal avenues we could take, in the end, we'd end up paying so much more than $12,000. It's sad that we have to pay our hard earned money to a pathetic -and conniving General Contractor. I will say, for Roberto to pick up and actually spend 20 mins to advise to us about what we should and shouldn't, do, is just awesome. He didn't hesitate to help , listen to our issues, and the key thing is, he actually cared enough to help and advise. I can tell his customer service is great, because he picked up his phone automatically and actually wants to help people! I believe he would make a great lawyer and his number is stored in my phone if and when I do need one. Or if someone needs recommendations for a good lawyer! Thank you Roberto for taking the time to talk to my husband and I today! We truly appreciate your kindness!

Roberto was extremely helpful in bringing us up to speed on the legal process. He also provided excellent legal advice assessing the merits of both sides of the case, which helped us a lot in understanding the probability of a favorable outcome if things went to mediation or to court. Ultimately, his advice was critical in us having confidence in standing our ground and reaching a favorable outcome. The legal advice was worth 5 stars, and his fees are very reasonable. Unfortunately, I also have to deduct 1 star because Roberto missed a couple of calls that I had scheduled with him, so it wasn't a flawless experience working with him. Perhaps it was a crazy busy week, and sometimes busy attorneys do get stuck in court or some other higher priority meeting. In those cases, it would have been better to get a text message or some communication from his office. However, I had to call his office both times to find out what was going on and reschedule. That being said, I would absolutely recommend Roberto to others and would definitely turn to him for legal advice in the future if needed.

This review concerns a case in which a disbarred lawyer worked on my file, that fact was admitted…read moreunder oath by opposing counsel, my own attorneys failed to act on that admission. Their failures were so extraordinary, that it seemed as if they were deliberately sabotaging my case. They ASKED to join my case against their old boss, claiming that they watched every day for cases which would let them "get back at" him. Yet, they removed claims from my lawsuit without asking first, failed to request a directed judgment when the Defendant admitted to stealing from me under oath, quit 4 days before a trial and billed for work never delivered. This review is to document failures by the law firm Ringel & Brymer which fatally harmed my case. Background and firm-level conflict: Ringel & Brymer sent me an unsolicited registered mail letter asking to be added as counsel and specifically offering the firm's services free of charge in my case against Derek Van Gilder whom both Ringel and Brymer had previously worked for/partnered with and whom I was suing for theft of retainer and failure to appear. I asked how James Ringel had become aware of my lawsuit against his former employer/partner and he replied that he'd been watching all filings in Bastrop courts for anything involving his former employer, looking for any opportunity to assist in any action against Derek Van Gilder. Obviously in retrospect this was a MASSIVE conflict of interest. Under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, this type of conflict is non-waivable, particularly given Ringel's claim that his former employment with Van Gilder would give him "the inside edge" in assisting me with my case. This unwaivable conflict is obvious to any first-year law student, or at minimum requires strict written informed consent and careful compliance. (TDRPC 1.06(a), 1.06(b), 1.09(a), 1.06(c)) Having already suffered theft at the hands of Van Gilder, not to mention having to take over the case I'd hired him for, I was financially strained and accepted James Ringel's offer of free help. At intake, I recall signing a written conflict waiver. My wife was present and independently recalls reviewing the document and seeing me sign it. But after the representation collapsed, Ringel stated in writing alternately that he could not recall whether any written conflict waiver exists, that he could accelerate the efforts of his staff to "find it" depending upon why I wanted it, and in the same email suggested, startlingly, that a conflict waiver might not have been required in this situation. For a partner-level attorney at a law firm to be unable to confirm whether written informed consent was obtained in a plainly conflicted engagement reflects either a serious firm-level compliance failure, or a fundamental lack of truthfulness. (TDRPC 1.01(b), 1.03(b), 1.06(c)) Failure to act on sworn testimony admitting use of a disbarred lawyer! During the proceedings, Derek Van Gilder testified under oath that a disbarred attorney, R. Allen Rogers, worked on my file. Understand, this was sworn testimony by the Defendant himself! That admission triggered IMMEDIATE obligations for Ringel and Brymer: to notify the court, to seek appropriate relief, and to address the legal and ethical consequences of a disbarred lawyer's participation. James Ringel and Jimmy Brymer did NOTHING. Worse, BOTH both had prior employment with Van Gilder and were in a position to know of Rogers's prohibited work on client files James filed no motion/objection, contacted no authorities. No relief or corrective action was taken. (TDRPC 1.01(a), 1.01(b), 1.03(a)) This failure to act exposes James Ringel and Jimmy Brymer to possible sanctions up to and including disbarment themselves, and brutally calls their integrity into question. (TDRPC 1.01(a), 1.01(b), 1.03(a)) Van Gilder's exhibits at trial showed billing me $400 per hour instead of $390 per hour, plus multiple $400+ charges for the same intake phone call. These exhibits were sufficient ON THEIR OWN to prove my claims of theft by Defendant. Despite this, no attorney from Ringel & Brymer moved for a directed verdict or judgment notwithstanding the verdict. James stopped communicating once the case went to appeal. Weeks/months went by without issuing witness subpoenas or engaging in trial prep. Nobody from the firm stepped in, FOUR DAYS before the trial I had to fire him to act on my own behalf, or lose by default. Each of the above failures are individually serious. However taken together they were devastating. The combined impact of such gross negligence was indistinguishable from DELIBERATE SABOTAGE of my legal interests, This failure raises serious questions under the Texas Disciplinary Rules and was referred to the appropriate authorities for review. I CANNOT recommend Ringel & Brymer for matters involving conflicts of interest, trial practice, ethical compliance, or deadline-critical litigation work.

He took over everything for a very reasonable flat fee, didn't over-promise, and kept me well informed throughout the process. The final settlement was nearly exactly accurate to his prediction, actually being on the lower end of what he thought. Her conduct significantly harmed my ability to protect my rights and my daughter's well-being during a highly sensitive and urgent legal process. 1. Failure to Act During an Emergency I approached Nancy desperate and in an emergency situation involving my divorce and my daughter's safety. I made it clear that immediate legal intervention was needed. Despite the urgency, Nancy took no meaningful action to address the situation or to move the case forward. 2. Ignoring Violations of the Temporary Orders I repeatedly informed Nancy about multiple violations of the Temporary Orders, providing details and evidence. She failed to: * file any motions, * advise me on immediate remedies, * notify the court, * or take any steps to enforce the orders or protect my parental rights. Her lack of response left me vulnerable during moments that required urgent legal action. 3. Failure to Present Key Evidence in Court One of the most serious issues was that Nancy did not present crucial evidence in court, evidence that was necessary to support my claims, demonstrate the violations, and show the pattern of behavior affecting my child and this case. This omission directly weakened my position and affected the court's ability to fully understand the facts. 4. Lack of Follow-Through and Progress Throughout her time on my case, Nancy did not prepare essential filings, did not follow up on critical issues, and did not provide a timeline or structure for how we would proceed. The case stagnated under her management. 5. Poor Communication Nancy consistently failed to respond promptly to messages--sometimes not responding at all--especially when the matters were time-sensitive or related to court deadlines. This forced me to handle complicated legal issues without proper support. 6. No Strategy or Guidance Despite my requests for direction, she did not offer a clear strategy, actionable advice, or explanation of the steps needed in my case. I was left without proper representation during a complex legal process. 7. Withdrawal Only After Being Confronted It was only after I confronted her about her inaction and lack of results that she expressed the desire to withdraw from my case. This timing demonstrates avoidance of accountability rather than a professional decision made in my best interest. 8. Harm Caused to My Case Because of her negligence: * evidence was not presented, * violations were ignored, * deadlines were missed or delayed, * and my legal position was weakened unnecessarily. Her inaction caused avoidable stress, confusion, and disadvantage at critical moments. Conclusion Nancy's failure to act during an emergency, her refusal to address violations of the Temporary Orders, and her omission of key evidence in court represent serious breaches of professional duty. This review is submitted to document the harm caused by her inaction and to ensure that future representation meets the standard required to protect my rights and my daughter's well-being.

He provides very clear communication regardless if you prefer calls/emails/text, and he was very accessible throughout the whole process. This was especially important as we were buying from out of state with the intention of moving to Austin soon. Kiel gave us recommendations for what pricing to start with and helped with negotiations as well as giving a recommendation for a home inspector so that we would be well prepared on the condition of the house during the option period. Negotiations were data-driven with comps in the area and he also provides monthly market analysis. I would definitely recommend Kiel for home buyers!

We received an offer within two weeks, while many other units in my development had been sitting on the market much longer, even after price adjustments. Having an experienced, knowledgeable agent like Carson guiding me through both buying and selling made all the difference. I would absolutely recommend him.
