But I will say that this place is very deceiving from the videos and pics that were previously reviewed. This is a small park; please don't expect more. There is unique parts the park and that's cool but the flow of the park is really just 1 or 2 directions that's all. If this is the only park you know then I'm sure you make the best of the situation but if you've been to other parks in Austin and the surroundings areas then you know what I'm saying. This park is shake-able of course but the luster does die down fairly quickly. To compare it to another small skatepark, the park on well branch; small but the flow of the park is really nice with an A-frame on one side and a nice stair set on the other side, mellow U-shaped bowl in the middle to carve back into the half pipe, with roll in's on both sides of that. That park is one of the better smaller parks, but so much you can do to have a great expertise for hours. This park doesn't hold up to that...unless you truly love transition. That's where this park gets its glory back, the transition here is pretty unique and seems to be fun and spacious enough to have a bunch fun. But Cole out and check it out for yourself and you be the judge for the toe off skating you enjoy!

This park resides at the back side of Cottonwood Shores near a nature preserve and historical cemetery all within walking distance. It is a concrete structure built on a sloping hillside near some residential homes. They only drawback, is that it is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. However, if you're an avid skateboarder, you'll likely have the whole place to yourself.

The park has a bowl and various ramps, catering to experienced and novice alike. Parks like this tends to draw more skateboards than BMX. This park was no different - I think 80% were skaters. But I didn't see any hostility between skaters and bikers. And no one was territorial and acted as if they own the park. Even when little kids (under 5) got on to ride around, no one got mad at them or threw any attitude. Overall, everyone was pretty cool and were there just to have fun. If you go, few suggestions. 1) Wear at least a helmet. I didn't see any crashes, but as safety precaution, protect your head - especially if you have a little one. 2) Bring water - lots of it. There is no water fountain at the park (but a 7-11 just few blocks down). 3) Go early, especially if you have kids. Afternoon tends to draw out bigger kids/adults so it could be more dangerous if you have smaller kids. If you go early, it's still open enough that your kids can enjoy the park without worrying about getting in other people's ways. 4) Be careful if you're allergic to bee stings. Lots of empty soda cups draw bees. Even though the cleaning crew emptied out trash cans, I saw a lot of bees buzzing around. Couple of negatives - there is no shade so in the summer, it'll be HOT, especially when the sun bounces off the white concrete. Parking could be a challenge - we went on a Sunday so we were able to park at the lot (but requires a permit from Austin Rec Center on weekdays).

I come here for a variety of activities the best part is that they have a batting cage for you to use. I see families over at the playground all of the time there are walking trails right behind the park I even have rode along the trails behind the park also. It does get a little crowded when baseball season is active but generally things are pretty vacant and well-kept. Another great perk is that there are bathrooms on either end of the park.

There is a lake as well and you can catch people fishing , kayaking etc. I've found the park to be clean and well maintained each time we go. In the summer, they open up the splash pad which has been recently upgraded and it's awesome. For sure one of my favorite park areas in the Cedar Park/Austin area. Definitely check this one out.

It turned out to be a great experience, with very positive vibe, boys and girls of all ages rooting each other on and lead by Bryan, a very nice man who runs a solid, organized camp. Located in or near a paintball field, there are several skateboard ramps of different sizes and trails for BMX. A little rustic but everything needed to have a great camp. My son learned a lot, made a friend and came back very enthused about his skateboarding (albeit a little scraped up). I really loved the confidence that seemed to build with kids encouraging each other on, even when they weren't yet able to complete a trick. The drive from downtown also wasn't too bad for just 4 days - about 25 to 30 minutes south of downtown in traffic. I'd highly recommend this camp and am considering joining the club offered as well.

It can feel a little isolated / sketchy in the mornings - there are often very few or no people around + I feel a bit exposed there with just my toddler (+ I'm not prone to it!). The afternoons are busier (although not crowded by any means) - and feel more comfortable. The playscape is regularly sanitised + there are parks + rec workers around keeping things clean. The trail is great - and a less crowded option than town lake at the moment if you want to mix up your run.

One recent report was that 3 men came out of the bathroom and was headed toward someone's daughter. Another mom called the police recently because men were recording the children at the splash pad, but they didn't have any kids of their own. The bathroom by the playground and splash pad has two directions you can exit.. to the left towards the splash pad or toward the right towards the side wooded area. Please don't let your children go in there alone and always check the bathroom first. Lakewood park, please hire security and heavily monitor the children's area.

There is a fence completely surrounding the park and there is a gate to go in and out of which has the handles high enough that a child could not open that gate. There was a lot of thought put into this park. They have wonderful learning areas such as they have an area all about music; This was definitely a favorite place. There are chimes to sound and drums to play, The children really enjoyed this area. They had a zip line made for children. My four-year-old granddaughter was enjoying it and after her, some 13-year-olds were enjoying it. It's very well-made, very safe and very fun. They have a shopping area for them to pretend -- along with their own personal H-E-B! My granddaughter really enjoyed pretending to shop. I think that's a secret word here, there's a lot of pretending going on here! I highly recommend this park. It's important to know that animals are not allowed unless it's a service animal. There's a lot of kids running and yelling and playing and laughing. This is not the place for you if you're going to a park to read a book. This is definitely a great place for children or for parents to play with their children. I highly recommend you visit.
