I was a bit scared to join CrossFit, because I haven't done weight lifting or intense workouts in 5 years, BUT joining Crossfit7070 was the BEST DECISION I've made in so long. I haven't felt so motivated to workout like this in a while, everyone is super friendly, you don't have to do heavy weights if you're not comfortable with it, I've been feeling so energetic every day, and I'm just excited every day to finish work and go workout. Do yourself a favor and at least try this for a month. You won't regret it.

I don'[t use the pool, or sauna areas. I joined to workout with a trainer to tone up from a car accident. Ashton is AMAZING!! He looks the part. He's not afraid to get down and work some with me. He has knowledge and wisdom to keep you challenged, as well as a personality. We laugh and train which is a awesome partnership for my ways. He doesn't look all over the gym during our time, to see "Who's looking at me" type.( I've trained at other gyms where it seems that is the focus of trainers rather then their clients.) Every week he knows how to push me and which areas of the gym to incorporate weather its mats and a boson ball, bikes, kettlebells, weights, machines or just body weight strengthening. Kudos to Ashton, I will always sing his praises.

Kind of torn on my rating of Crunch Fitness…read more.. I probably wouldn't even leave a review honestly, but today changed my mind. Today I woke up before 5am to get a workout in. I pulled up and found only a couple of cars in the lot, with people waiting in them. The opening employee apparently didn't show up to work. Over the past couple of months the front desk staff has been not great. There was one guy who was always on his personal cell talking to someone on speakerphone at like 5am. Super weird, and he couldn't be that helpful because he was preoccupied. There was literally one day, where there was a gal at the desk, she was very very nice-engaged-pleasant. Saw her once and then never again. The guy following her couldn't be bothered to look up from his cell phone as people scanned in. This is a horrible impression of the business and their attention to their customers. Plus without someone paying attention the safety of customers is lacking too. The gym always seems clean. Gym users seem to be great about wiping equipment down after use. And the general condition of equipment is good. Price is acceptable too.

They even had whiteboards with my name welcoming me The staff and the coaches are AMAZING-they bring the energy (and didn't judge me at all when my stats were not looking so good adjusting to the altitude haha). The coaches will correct form so people won't injure themselves AND will push me if they know I can go harder. With the screens showing the workouts in basically every modern fitness studio, I've noticed instructors will rely on those, but they don't do that here (the screens are guides, not substitutes for trainers) which I really appreciate. Elle, Olivia, and Mychel are all amazing-highly recommend trying a class with them

I went to the Thursday night fundamentals class, which was short but informative and so much fun. It included a warm up, ab/stretching cool down and a boxing HIIT style workout. The coach had a tough exterior, but she was very kind and gave great verbal and visual cues throughout class. I could quickly tell that this is a supportive community and I felt safe trying something new, even though I'm definitely not a boxing natural! I really enjoyed meeting so many kind new people who helped me during my class and I look forward to trying more classes here. The studio is located in the chapel hills mall and it has a sparring area, class area and an entire gym. If you're interested in trying boxing or just looking for a studio to continue your journey, this would be the perfect place.

The fact that the YMCA is one of the most expensive, if not the most expensive gym in the area, does not speak well of the management's concern for the client or their ability to manage repair contracts. The facility manager makes lame excuses for failing to maintain the equipment properly. The other problem, which is not fixable, is the YMCA advertises and "lap pool". The pool is clearly designed for aerobic classes and not lap swimming as it is only 20 yds long and 3 to 4 feet deep. It gets 2 stars because there are plenty of exercise classes and the clientele is friendly.
