Eight weeks ago, I joined CrossFit Lake Zurich (shortly after they opened). Since that time, here…read moreare some changes I've noticed (prompting my review): * I have lost weight * I have gained muscle * I am leaner * I am stronger * I am faster * I've lost at least one dress size * I eat healthier (because I want to believe it or not - I feel better when I do) * I'm sore a lot of the time (ok, most of the time) * I don't care how stupid I look (trust me I look stupid) -- the results are worth it * I realized how out of shape I truly was * I see how out of shape others are too * I enjoy working out * I no longer feel the need to belong to a health club * I realized there are people around me who inspire me * My soon to be husband has now joined * I LOVE how I feel every single day - I walk taller, I sit straighter, I feel stronger, I feel better than I ever have mentally * I will never quit While I am no stranger to health clubs- from Ballys to Midtown Club and others in between (I once was competitive myself - marathons, tri's, etc.), I fell into work and into a boring day to day grind of boring workouts - I never saw results (which also got to be boring). Walking into CrossFit Lake Zurich was one of the best decisions I have ever made and let me just say that when I did walk in this place, it was just a "box" - some weights, kettlebells, barbells, not a whole lot. So obviously there is a lot to be said about the person behind this place but that is something you cannot figure out unless you give it a chance by walking in and trying it. By next year at this time (my 48th birthday), my goal is to be able to do a pullup - maybe even a few - and not something to be taken lightly. There are true athletes who work out here every single day and then there are people like me. Never rule out anything until you try it - that's all I can say. CrossFit Lake Zurich has changed my life in a very positive way. And to think... it's just a box. ;)

Interviewed Karl before taking a personal class, 6 months later still motivated & health records show amazing progress. Full mobility in formerly rusty joints and great energy levels. Good people enrolled, easy to take classes with & no judgements here, polite, fun, share a few laughs, here to stay healthy. Karl shares his consummate anatomical, physiology & nutritional knowledge to everyone's benefit. Highly recommend Crossfit Lake Zurich, the results are yours when you choose this location.

I'm honestly disappointed with the level of service at this club. The staff attitude is very…read moreunpleasant from the kitchen to the front desk. In person they often come across as arrogant and not very welcoming, which is already uncomfortable for members. Today I also tried calling for help with a simple question, and the person on the phone refused to assist me. For a place with membership fees at this level, people expect a much higher standard of service and professionalism. It's frustrating that I can't even cancel my membership right now because it's the beginning of the month and refunds are not offered. Overall, the experience has been very disappointing.

There are a lot of classes to choose from, a basketball court, indoor and outdoor tennis/pickleball courts, areas with gym equipment, a cycling room and more. I especially love the PIlates Amped, 312, Zumba, boxing and Endure classes (mix of treadmill and strength exercises). You don't have to reserve a spot in the class in advance and there is no penalty for walking in late. I highly recommend checking out classes taught by Nikki! Kidtown is where kids can play for up to 2 hours every day while the parents get to do whatever they want at the gym. On top of exercising, this includes the ability to do work in the well-designed library, swim in their indoor and outdoor pools, relax in the hot tub, dry or steam sauna and simply being able to shower in peace. The outdoor pools have an area where the depth is 1.5 feet which is perfect for my toddler. I've never had a problem with the staff; all are friendly and helpful. I come here about 5/week. I hope to see you there!

If you go to SAA you will accomplish whatever goals you want to achieve regarding your fitness…read more This place has top notch trainers who are well versed in many training techniques and methods with an amazing community of members who motivate each other to achieve their goals. I started at Superior in 2012, the summer before my junior year of high school. I originally wanted to work on my strength and speed as I was working towards furthering my baseball career in high school and college. I saw results after training with Will and Boone for a few months and solidified myself on the varsity baseball roster with the extra power I gained in my arm and my bat. I ended up leading the team in multiple batting categories my junior and senior year and acquired multiple looks from DI and DIII baseball programs. After my senior year, I was accepted to the Coast Guard Academy and earned a spot on their baseball roster while concurrently serving in the military. The strength that I gained from SAA helped me during boot camp and got me through that with ease. Fast forward to 2018, I recently moved back to Chicago and got involved in Olympic Weightlifting. I had a sound basis of the technique that I learned all the way back in 2012 when I first trained at SAA, but I had not trained full time for a while. I wanted to find a program that I could get personal feedback from while having a tailored and individualized workout made for me. I was confident that the coaches could bring me to another level with my lifting abilities. So I decided to take a chance and see what I could learn with the coaches at SAA. I started training with Will and Kurt in August of 2018 and I have seen tremendous gains in my technique, strength, and volume that I can lift. My lifts have gone up various amounts, and I have learned so much about training methods, technique, recovery, and programming with the coaches here. I came in clean and jerking 127kg/279lb, and SAA has helped me get to a 140kg/308lb clean and 151kg/332lb jerk. My squats have increased by 10kg/22lb in the back squat and 15kg/33lb in the front squat. I feel stronger, and I can handle much more volume in training than when I came into SAA in August of 2018. My technique has improved immensely, and I consistently receive feedback on how to lift better. Overall, the community at SAA is hard to beat. Everyone knows each other and motivates one another to reach their goals. The atmosphere is a great place to train and learn in. Everyone is there to help, and the coaches put a lot of time and effort into writing each workout and explaining each part to you. I have felt that if I ever have a problem with any part of the lifts, I can come to any one of the coaches and ask them how to fix it. I am looking forward to the future with SAA, and I am proud to be part of this community.
