I was in the area with family in August a couple of years back…read more The trail was really short from the parking lot. The Falls was pretty though a little crowded and busy. There will be people walking in the water. Be careful if you are walking through the water. Also, there are giant rocks and logs to sit on. I feel like Tiffany Falls is somewhere you go in the autumn. You would see the leaves being colors. There's a small fee enter (around $11/vehicle). It's done through a park kisok. You can use the same parking ticket at Sherman Falls within around 2 hours or so. The price not too bad for vehicle with at least 3 people. The parking area is really small. If you visit in the afternoon, you are going to wait a bit or park at Sherman Falls and walk (around 20 min) to Tiffany Falls. There isn't really a closer relatively larger parking lot.

I don't know how well enforced it is, but feel free to give your parking receipt to someone else when you leave. $8 seems a lot for a waterfall! I was here in July so nothing frozen and no fall colors but still magnificent. a 21 meter (64 foot) cascade roars away. The path through the woods is very well marked and easy to follow up it's clear that some folks think it's okay to wander off the path. I stuck to the route and the observation platform. Partly because I'm a rule follow and partly because I'm the clumsy sort that would fall and hurt myself. Leave only footprints, take only photos. The new MPL opened to some small amount of controversy. It moved two kilometres down the street…read morefrom where the previous branch had been located, which has caused it to be less convenient for residents of the town's old core. The new location, though, is sublime. Much larger and roomier feeling than the old location, it's two stories, with windows looking out on Main street (admittedly, not the most scenic of vistas). The shelves are a lovely selection of fiction and non, but as a library in the 21st century the MPL also has the variety of digital media, including on-line materials available for download. The staff are friendly, and the only improvement I could conceive of would be to add a quiet room with some comfy chairs to sit in white working. Signage still seems preliminary; there are paper signs instead of printed signs. Plus, the graphic novel collection seems more heavily located in another branch. But that's a personal affectation, really. It shares a building with the Milton Arts Centre. I look forward to checking it out someday.

I was surprised to see how much this library caters to kids, which is great! Most of the first…read morefloor is dedicated to children's books, a play area and kid-friendly computer's (about 10-12 of them!). A lot fancier than my local library in T.O. My Dad lives in Milton so we went on a Saturday morning to kill some time with my 2.5 year old. It appeared as if there was some sort of drop-in program going on in a separate room just off the play space, but I did hear one woman being turned away as they were full, so I'd check out their website or call for more info if you're interested in that. As lovely as this library is, I will say that I did sense a hint of entitlement with a few of the Moms there who felt like they "owned the place" -- talking really loudly (one on a cellphone!), taking up space with their jackets and bags, letting their children hog toys for the entire time we were there so that other kids didn't get a chance to play....just things like that. I sympathize with the whole "mom-brain" theory but please have some courtesy and be aware of other people and young children around you. This library is for everyone. Thanks.

This is a great library. It has an awesome children's area with books, games and even costumes for…read morethe little ones! They offer tons of programs for older people who want to figure out their computers, to babysitting courses for teens and resume writing help for anyone! There are great study areas on the top and middle floors and every once and a while they have old books for sale for about a quarter each! I have been coming here to study since I was a kid and it is my favourite library in this town. The old librarians are always helpful if you need it. The young people who put away the books sometimes will start to gossip when you are trying to study but if you tell them off they are horrified. Some odd rules exist like they don't want you to put your feet up on the ancient tables and you can't have a computer in the silent study room... Making it useless but other than that it's a good library.

The staff was super nice and answered all my questions. They have a nice computer on site to search through the catalogue to reserve and hold book titles as this location is small and doesn't stock much. There is a meeting room you can book out and two handicap accessible bathrooms, however, there was no toilet paper and the stall was quite dirty. There is limited seating in the library. As the library was an open room, I imagine it could be a bit noisy to study. There was a small section of books and DVDs for sale to support the local library. Overall I would suggest reserving a hold on the book you want ahead of time and using this as a pickup location.

I have been to Port Credit Library twice. The first time was while I was in the area for ribfest a…read moreyear ago. I was early and decided to walk around the area. I found this library and walked in. I wanted to get a Mississauga library card. You can get one for free if you are either a resident of or work in the city. I qualify for the latter. What I didn't know, which one of the librarians had pointed out, was that I needed to provide a paystub as proof. Going to a ribfest, having a paystub with me wasn't in the cards. I thanked them and ultimately opened a card at the Burnamthorpe branch instead. My second time was recently. My manager was doing a search and stumbled upon a free music concert held at Port Credit Library. He asked us if we'd like to attend. After a lunch outing with my development team had shifted from Thursday to Friday, my intern and I were free. It's helpful that I have been here. My manager said that we would need to park on the street. The library has a parking lot. However, for ribfest, folks ended up parking here and you then have no choice but to seek parking elsewhere. I knew that it wouldn't be busy on a Thursday, especially with ribfest's absence in November. I drove a colleague and my intern over to the library. Sure enough, there was ample parking and chose a spot. We then walked in. My manager had driven two other colleagues. They were waiting in the lobby. He asked me whether we should go in. Um, yeah! It's first-come, first-served seating. The seats were attached. We got a row and sat down. Harp & Holly were performing. They are a trio, although my manager said that there are five of them. I'll stick with the trio, as their faces were on the informational sheet handed to me when I walked into the room. They play Christmas songs with a new age twist. My manager said that they were different. I thought that they were amazing. One member plays the harp. One sings, and plays violin and viola. The third plays the drums, bells, acoustic guitar, and sings. My manager tends to research everything about any person, place, or trio in this case. I am the opposite. I'd rather experience things without a whole lot of background. I did manage to find the trio's Christmas album on Google Music. I added it to my playlist. This trio was great. They gave us background history about their songs, themselves, and Mississauga. They played so beautifully. The harp solo was soothing and incredible. I admired the violin and viola playing, which made me want to pick up the viola again. The drums and guitar parts completed everything. They have lovely voices. They are calm and soothing. They harmonize well. My favourite song, Carol of the Common Cold, was the encore. It was hilarious! Two of them were holding tissues during their performance. My favourite lyric is "Think of the snot / Go get your shot." It's a fitting motto at work when the office cold happens,. The room that we were in was cozy. This library is medium in size. I can't comment on the books or media items that you can borrow. I do like it for such artistic performances. (450)

A bit of a hidden gem, the Lakeview Library is a picturesque site that offers a much quieter…read moreatmosphere than a lot of libraries and decent selection. The library recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, and I was reminded of why I enjoyed visiting this site. The staff are very friendly and always eager to help you find what you're looking for, the noise levels are extremely low even when there are kids in the library, and the book sale has some great variety and a lot of nice finds. On the two occasions I've visited, I've never been disappointed. The staff also know how to throw a party, as the anniversary celebration had cake-cutting, historical re-enactments of famous battles and a large number of local community groups showing their support. I enjoy visiting Lakeview Library, and I hope to see the staff extend their outreach to a wider audience. If anything, it feels like this place is not that well-known despite its age.

This is the first ever Oakville Public Library I been to and I am totally disappointed!!…read more I can understand libraries can be full of kids and teens especially after school. It is kind of better for them to hang and chill in libraries than at malls. I really cannot understand why the furniture are so dated, no electrical outlets on the tables or anywhere that are too accessible! Though with Free WIFI, the chairs are so uncomfortable... cafeteria type plastic chairs.... maybe I should have just go to Starbucks!

It's not too bad for vehicle with at least 3 people. There's lots of parking nearby. Trails by Webster's Falls are pretty well maintained and quiet. It is pretty short so it's should good for anyone who doesn't like long hikes. Also, there are picnic benches if you are planning to bring food. I feel like Webster's is somewhere you go in the spring or autumn. You would see the leaves being colors and more water flowing over the Falls. I have seen people slowly climbing down the cliffside to get to the base side. I would suggest not doing so because rocks are slippery and the cliffside is slippery.

This review is specifically for Webster's Falls in autumn! First off, you actually have to make a…read morereservation to hike here. I did this through the Hamilton Conservation Authority website. There are time slots for each day of the week and you pay a fee for each person and vehicle, as well as a convenience charge. It's not the most accessible for all people but they do this to keep the numbers of hikers manageable. Note that they will actually check that you're on the reservation list. When we got there and parked, there was a security guard with a printed out copy of the guestlist. Later on when we were entering the main part of the hike, there was a little kiosk where we were asked for our reservation again. I'd recommend printing out your reservation and bringing it with you in case. The hike is super easy. A good portion of it is paved and there was almost always a stair option if you didn't want to chance a hill with roots. There are a few look out points for Webster's Falls. At this time of year, the falls are a lot smaller than some of the pictures you might see online due to the water levels. It's still a really pretty sight though if you go when the leaves are changing colours.
