Rooms were clean and very comfortable, if rather 'chintzy'. There's a gym etc and spa - with swimming pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool. Breakfast is served in a room overlooking the beautifully manicured grounds and consisted of a cold continental buffet and then waiter served hot food (choice of full English, kippers, porridge etc). The hotel is very near the ferry terminal for Isle of Wight ferries and a short drive to Lymington itself. There's a nice pub though on the way to Lymington (called the Waggon and Horses?).

Do not stay here if you want the latest in home entertainment and bells and whistles in your bedroom. Do stay here if you want an escape from mainstream hotel businesses and 'connectivity' with the world. Dinning here is excellent and very relaxed and friendly. The wine list is apparently very good.

There is a self-catering kitchen with microwave, stove, fridge, sink, water boiler, dishes, pots, glasses and cutlery. Upstairs you'll find a computer (rather old but it still works) for internet access.

A priory for many centuries (13), the old stones overlook the river Frome, up which the Vikings once sailed. This smallish country-town hotel has only 18 bedrooms, and so remains peaceful even if full. My only complaint is that the coffee isn't that good, and in a place so quintessentially English, finding mainly Polish staff lessens the experience somewhat. Imagine finding someone there who has never read 'The Wind in the Willows' or Three Men in a Boat' or doesn't appreciate Gertrude Jeykell!

An old converted Priory set in a quaint old town next to the church. A lovely girl showed us around the 3 remaining rooms - we chose the quirky top floor with original wooden beams, lots of character, views on the canal, countryside and back garden. Lovely big bathtub and shower.. comfy bed... and everything you could want in a room. The hotel itself is great top to bottom... croquet in the back.. pond full of lily pads, luscious gardens and views across and down the canal. Little boat houses can be stayed in as well that have their own gardens and sitting areas. Staff are attentive and down to earth, especially the little blond who grew up nearby, very professional in the most natural of ways and full of chat. On this lovely weekend could not have found somewhere better. Champagne at sunset on the back terrace, strolls around the ground, losing horribly at croquet, yummy dinner and breakfast. There are lots of common rooms as well which will be more appreciated in the winter. I would go back anytime.... and highly recommend for weddings, romantic weekends away.. and for lovers of castles as Corfe Castle is a short drive away and one of the best around.

We are truly upset and disappointed with our stay…read more We stayed in room 10, Emily. Junior suite with spa bath. The room was absolutely disgusting. It was filthy. The whole room including the bathroom also. A leaking bath that didn't hold the water, cracked tiles, rusty taps, rusty radiator, dust & dirt. Stained tiles. Bath old, shabby, disgusting, filthy. Bathroom smelt stale. Bedroom - carpets filthy, dust everywhere, on skirting, window frames, picture rails, bedding drapes, all the wooden furniture had ingrained dirt and dust on it, room smelt, dust on the carpet, carpets had not been hoovered, found a tablet & receipt on the carpet. Cobwebs on chandelier and corners of walls, spiders. Stained pillows. The windows with dirty on the ledges inside and out. The whole room and bathroom certainly had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. The tv was last tested in 2018! And the kettle hadn't even been pap tested, no sticker to confirm. The room is in need of a total refurbishment. And certainly wasn't worth £214.65 The grounds of the building are disgusting, dumped furniture, broken tiles, lots of rubbish on show, lots of garden waste piled in corners. Lining in the car park. To then have to go across the road for breakfast. Breakfast was nice but the pastries were rock hard. We paid a lot of money for our stay. Our stay was completely ruined, by the disgusting room. We are so upset as we do not get time as husband and wife very often as we have a severely disabled son.

I find the car park facilities a bit small for the room capacity they offer however we have always manage to just about find a space. The rooms are well maintained and averagely priced for the facilities you receive. We have had a shower not working but compensated it by using the bath. The atmosphere in the hotel is bright and exciting all the time making you feel that you are welcome as well as ensuring you are having a good time. I found the restaurant to be slightly more expensive than we wanted to pay therefore we only ate there the first time we visited.
