Located on the Loch Leven Heritage trail, Burleigh Sands offers beautiful panaramic views of Loch Leven and the surrounding hills. After parking at the free car park, visitors can walk through the native scots pine woodland to a stunning tranquil beach with spectacular views of the Loch Leven Basin. Accessible to bikes and wheelchairs (with free electric wheelchairs available for hire from Loch Leven Larder), Burleigh Sands is the perfect location for picnicing, dog-walking, cycling, or simply getting out into the countryside.
As a national nature reserve, Loch Leven plays host to a large diversity of birds, including geese, ospreys, and recently a sea eagle. If you have an interest in bird-watching, Burleigh Sands has a specially constructed bird hide that reaches out over the loch- allowing an excellent view of the large flocks of geese that migrate to the loch in the winter months. read more
