"Almost all creativity involves purposeful play."…read more Do you ever feel that you have reached the age that going outside to the park is redundant and ridiculous. Let me cue you in on some ways we learn, "play." Playing is the brain's favorite way to learn. Not only do you learn and boost your productivity your cognitive abilities and skills get sharper. Shall we hit the trails for a peaceful walk or ride. Along the path water bottle stations are open for an individual to stay hydrated as you play and enjoy the outdoors. If you have little children their is a splash pad, playgrounds, and picnic tables all around the park. The pets are welcome and you should take a run and through the ball or frisbee for your furry companion. The elevation is so high that you can even on windy days fly a kite high up in the sky. As your imagination soars, take flight and let your mind wander. It's time to play today. Grab ahold and join in with just yourself or someone special. Today is a great day to discover something new outdoors.

We call this place "shiny alley" because we play Pokémon Go and tend to catch a lot of shiny Pokémon here. I know, it's silly but it does help get the steps in and I need that motivation in my life. This park is easy to get into, off of Russell. There are plenty of parking spaces, especially up towards the bathrooms. The front parking can get a bit busy when there are softball games going but even during tournaments, we've never not been able to find a good parking spot in the back. And if you can't find a spot there, there's a whole other section of parking around the south side of the fields. Speaking of the bathrooms, we've used them before and while they are still public bathrooms, someone seems to be taking at least the basic care of them and we appreciate that. There are always kids playing at the really fun looking playground and there are always people having a small gathering or just out eating lunch at the picnic benches. There is a large grassy area in the middle to play. There used to be much more grass but they've recently removed it in favor of more desert landscaping. Overall, a small park but a great place to relax or do a bit of play.

The weather was threatening and there weren't many people there. A perfect place to have some conversation, snacks, and planning for the next week.

This park is located near the Airport, and a Fed Ex hub, so it is always noisy here and quite windy, too. When the games are played here, it is easy to get to using the 215. (Hence, the 5 stars. Last season, many of the games, there are 7 games in the season, 6 of them were at Sunridge in Henderson.) No dogs allowed- there are signs posted at the fence entrance. Games start at 8 am, and end with the 6 pm game, with NYS Flag Football League, Henderson/Southwest Division. The turf gets everywhere, especially on your shoes, so bring a chair. No trees on the field, so there is no shade; the trees are on the far edges, faw away from the playing field. So, wear a hat, or wear sunblock for protection. And don't forget to wear your shades. (*If you're lucky, if you have one, bring a tent.*) I've heard bad things about the public restrooms. I've never been. The ladies have said it is nasty. We overheard that the Soccer fields were behind the area we were at, so I'd say that this is in the middle of the park. In the distance, saw a sleeping homeless person on the table. It's in the pictures I added, if you want to check it out. Got a good look at the parking lot, which, I will say, again, that it is very tight.

It is located right off of Burkholder Blvd. that is convenient to pull right off and enter into the park. The parking lot isn't too big and can seem kind of tight on busy park days, but there is another park located near this park so it isn't too bad with compensating between the two. It also has a nice crosswalk equipped with lights and flashing stop sign to signal to oncoming cars to slow down and STOP because people are trying to cross safely. I'm very glad they added this to the crosswalk because they did not have this in the past and it was very dangerous for kids to walk through in the crosswalk. There is a high school (Basic H.S.) located right next to the park so lots of kids walk home school and sometimes use that crosswalk to get to their houses right across the street from the park.

When I think of harmony, my mind turns to images of scenic walking trails harmonizing with nature…read more Harmony Park is one of those images that comes to my mind. Harmony Park is a southern extension of Anthem Hills Park. It is a linear park that is bordered by Cadence Street to the west, backyards to the east and bookmarked by two tunnels. Harmony Park serves as both a homeowner association-managed neighborhood park and a little known extension of the regional Anthem Hills Park.   On previous hikes, Harmony Park has been my southernmost point on a round-trip hike originating and ending in the Green Valley at Horizon Ridge Parkways Target Shopping Center. This is an extension of the hike concluding in Harmony Park that I discuss in the following sentences. If you are interested in an hour or two round-trip hike that features Harmony Park as the southernmost leg, I recommend parking at Sunridge Park. After parking the car, I recommend following the route I hike which is doing a loop around the park that is an uphill and downhill trek before continuing south on Sandy Ridge Avenue. Continuing on this hike you will follow the same side of the road as the powerlines that continue from the east periphery of Sunridge Park. Up the hill, Sandy Ridge Avenue ends at a 4-way stop sign against Summit Grove Drive. Proceeding the stop sign you need to continue to follow the powerlines along the paved bike trail. This bike trail continues into Anthem Hills Park. In the park, you will leave the paved trail to descend downhill onto the grassy open space. Hiking to the southwest of Anthem Hills Park are the grand stairs leading to the tunnel into Harmony Park. Please note that you can also extend the hike by hiking to the east periphery of Anthem Hills Park onto the beginning of either Anthem East or McCullough Hills Trails in the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area.    There is very little that advertises Harmony Park. Unlike the Henderson-managed parks there is a want for an entrance sign. The only thing that gives indication that this is Harmony Park is that in the sign listing the rules the name of the park is listed. Walking to the park from the contiguous Anthem Hills Park there are zero signs pointing to the linear green panhandle at the south. Essentially the park has a speakeasy entrance that is a grand staircase at the southwest corner leading to the tunnel under Reunion Drive. Beyond that tunnel is Harmony Park.   Once you pass the tunnel bordering Anthem Hills Park a linear green park reaches towards the horizon. A few feet south of the tunnel begins a white concrete walking path. In symmetry with the landscaped environment it gently weaves through the golf course green grass that is interspersed with trees. Branching from the walking path are spurs reaching gated houses and Cadence Street. Along this landscaped walk are two basketball courts, playground equipment, a swinging bench, and numerous amenities. For this park lover the greatest amenity is nature. Flying between the tree canopies I spotted numerous birds. Near the southernmost point of the park I saw an abundance of bunny rabbits and a few roadrunners near the bushes. Throughout the hike there were a sundry of bushes and trees along the hill separating the park from Cadence Street. After a handful of gentle curves, Harmony Park abruptly concludes at the southern tunnel carrying Réunion Drive.   There was very little graffiti in the park. The little bit of it I saw was in the north tunnel.    Harmony Park provides some unique experiences. It is the only park that I am aware of that starts in a tunnel and ends in another. Secondly it is the only park that I know of where the main entrance is up a grand Rocky staircase then into a tunnel. Perhaps the most unique experience is facing north where the park merges with Anthem Hills Park under the tunnel. This viewpoint provides a tunnel view of the Las Vegas Strip. If it is legal to do so, this is a prime spot to take in the Las Vegas Strip fireworks.   My name is Daniel. S., and I approve of this review. Moreover, I approve of Harmony Park. I anticipate returning to Harmony Park.
